Rasim and Winston arrived at Gringotts almost simultaneously.
"Keep an eye on these fairies, not one should escape." Rasim stormed through the door, instructing Aro behind him, then rushed impatiently underground.
He had received his master's summoning, sensing that his master was about to undertake a significant action today.
As the most loyal subordinate of his master, he was eager to be by his master's side, ready to lead the charge in whatever his master intended to do.
Winston, watching the guy who seemed to be racing him, snorted disdainfully, "Watchers, guard the perimeter of Gringotts, no one is allowed in, and the rest, find all the exits and seal this place."
However, this was just a precautionary measure. He had already noticed the flock of crows flying in the sky and the lightning crows squatting around Gringotts.
The master had already taken preventive measures.
The moment he stepped into Gringotts, he saw the gathered fairies and even exchanged glances with Locke, knowing he was a subordinate of Lord Murphy. The latter looked similar to the other fairies, both panicked and fearful.
It seemed something extraordinary had happened below.
Upon reaching the basement, the sight of two corpses and blood splattered everywhere greeted him. Even as the commander of the Watchers, who had seen plenty of gruesome scenes in the past year, he was still startled.
But he quickly controlled his emotions, glanced at Rasim who was already kneeling on the ground, and bowed to Murphy, "Lord, the Watchers are in position."
Murphy didn't look at his two subordinates; he was pondering the images he saw in Guleous's head.
At this moment, he had figured out some things.
For instance, the role Dumbledore played in this matter.
He initially thought it might be a trap set by Dumbledore, but then he doubted it. Luring Guleous to seal Murphy's assets seemed like his style, but attacking Murphy at the cost of his life? That was too far from his usual modus operandi.
He might have intended to sow discord between the fairies and himself, but such a ruthless strategy seemed unlikely.
That person hidden in Guleous's mind was another enemy.
Banners... Thrones...
Perhaps, something could be unearthed from the fairies' stronghold.
With that thought, he turned around, looked at his two subordinates, and said calmly, "Guleous and his grandfather Padro, plotting rebellion, have been executed by me on the spot. Now, Rasim, I want you to immediately interrogate all the fairies in Gringotts to find out if Guleous and Padro had accomplices."
"Yes, master! I will do it right away!" Rasim turned and left immediately.
Accomplices?
Of course, there must be!
Even if there weren't, there had to be!
Otherwise, wouldn't the master have killed them for nothing today?
As a henchman, Rasim immediately grasped Murphy's intention; he had already figured out how to deal with those fairy managers.
"Winston, did you bring the documents?" Murphy asked the remaining commander of the Watchers.
"I did." Winston stepped forward, handing several scrolls of parchment to Murphy.
"The Brin family's several key branches in England are all here. However, the Brin family is one of the largest and oldest fairy clans, with ancestors who were once fairy royalty, nearly half of the fairies in England are related to them."
"I've only listed the ones most closely related to Guleous."
"Guleous's lineage's patriarch is Guleous's father, Wiler Longhand. His stronghold is at Oak Pit Mine. But that's a fairy autonomous territory; we've never been there."
"The exact location is in the Oak Mountains of West Riding, right?" Murphy glanced at the parchment, "Prepare your men for a raid."
Having said that, Murphy vanished in a blur of motion, the next moment turning into lightning speeding towards the West Riding mines in Yorkshire.
Moments later, Murphy hovered in mid-air, overlooking a magically hidden pure white castle—then he landed on a nearby mountaintop, providing Winston and his Watchers with a magical link through lightning crows, allowing them to "follow and appear" at this location they had never been to before.
The next moment, a dozen figures appeared on the hillside.
Murphy had already concealed his form; he was floating in mid-air, then gave instructions to Winston through the mental network. The next actions were not suitable for him to handle personally.
"Do you see that castle?" Winston told the Watchers, "It belongs to Wiler Longhand, a fairy plotting rebellion. At this moment, he's inside that house, planning another fairy rebellion. I want you to raid it and stop it before the rebellion happens."
"Now, I permit the use of the Killing Curse; everyone in the castle is an enemy, except for Wiler Longhand, spare no one! Did everyone get that?!"
The Watchers looked at each other, "Understood..."
It had been peaceful in the wizarding world for over a decade, even for these Watchers, their duties had mostly involved capturing black wizards involved in illegal trading, and they had hardly ever engaged in battles of this scale.
Starting with a raid on the fairies' stronghold and allowing the use of the Killing Curse, they were somewhat unprepared.
Winston glared, "Fairies can use magic without wands! If you think they're as easy to handle as the magical creatures you've dealt with, you might as well be preparing for your funeral next year! The fairies are prepared for rebellion, ready to kill wizards! Do you want to just barge into the enemy's lair like this?!"
"I'll say it again! Spare no one! Did you all get that?!"
"Understood!" The Watchers' response was more decisive this time.
After all, they were just some arrogant and annoying fairies, those capitalist vampires, they had been displeased with them for a long time.
"Let's go!"
The next moment, the wizards vanished from the hillside and then appeared outside the mansion.
"Boom!"
Someone blasted open the castle's doors, and they rushed in.
Murphy's crows were already perched on the windows, transmitting the images inside the castle to Murphy's mind.
There were many fairies inside the castle, almost as many as in Gringotts, some dressed as servants, others in armor, apparently the servants and guards of the castle.
The wizards' sudden intrusion threw them into chaos. The dozen wizards had no qualms about their drastically different looking enemies, some directly using the Killing Curse.
Some wizards still felt uneasy about using the Killing Curse, but they quickly discovered that these fairies were not lambs to the slaughter.
A wizard's Stunning Spell hit a fairy guard, but the latter's heavy armor directly resisted the spell, then the fairy charged forward, his single-edged axe chopping down on the wizard's neck, instantly spewing blood.
"Wa-ga!" The fairy guard shouted in the blood rain, startling the surrounding wizards, halting their assault.
"Avada Kedavra!" Winston's Killing Curse accurately hit the fairy's face, killing it, then he used "Petrificus Totalus" on the injured wizard to prevent excessive blood loss, covered the wizard's neck with his hands, and pulled out something that looked like a gigantic band-aid, applying it to the wizard's neck wound.
This was the Dittany Medical Adhesive Tape, a product of Umbrella Corporation designed for treating cuts, now standard issue for the Watchers.
"Take him to St. Mungo's!" After instructing a wizard to take the wounded away, Winston looked at the remaining wizards and roared, "This is war! Do you want to die?!"
Stimulated by the scene, the wizards no longer hesitated; soon, green lights filled the entire estate.
In the chaos, it became clear that the fairies were not easy opponents. Despite lacking wands, their magic and physical prowess posed a real threat. The heavy armor of the fairy guards especially proved effective against lower-level spells, requiring the wizards to use more lethal force.
As the battle raged inside the castle, Murphy observed from afar, his mind connected to his crows, watching every move inside. The ferocity of the fairies surprised even him, their determination and readiness to fight to the death for their stronghold spoke volumes about their loyalty and the gravity of the situation.
Winston and his Watchers, pushed to their limits, fought fiercely. They had been briefed about the fairies' capabilities, but experiencing their ferocity first-hand was another matter. The fairies, despite their small size, were formidable adversaries, their spells and physical attacks proving deadly.
As the battle unfolded, it became apparent that this was more than a mere squabble; it was a clash of two worlds, the magical and the fairy, each fighting for their beliefs and survival. The air was thick with spells, cries of the fallen, and the determination of those still standing.
Murphy, watching everything unfold, knew that this confrontation was inevitable. The fairies, under the influence of enemies unknown, had been pushed to the brink. It was a painful but necessary measure to prevent a larger calamity.
The outcome of this battle would not just determine the fate of the fairies at the castle but could also set the stage for future relations between the wizarding world and the fairy communities. Murphy understood the weight of his decisions and the actions of his followers, knowing that the path to peace was often paved with the sorrows of war.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of orange and red, the battle at the castle neared its end. The Watchers, under Winston's command, had managed to quell the rebellion, but at a great cost. The ground was littered with the fallen, fairy and wizard alike, a somber reminder of the day's events.
Winston, looking over the aftermath, couldn't help but feel a sense of loss. War, no matter how justified, always came with a price. He hoped that this would be the last time they would have to take such drastic measures.
Murphy, silently observing from a distance, shared in the somber mood. The day's events would leave a lasting impact on all involved, a harsh lesson in the complexities of power and the price of security. As night fell, the castle stood silent, a solemn monument to the cost of rebellion and the relentless pursuit of order.
