"Mother!' Zoriel banged his fist on the table and stood up.
"No... It's fine, it's okay. I will leave" Amira turned around quietly and walked away.
She was in no mood for quarrels or banters, if the sassy woman did not want her around then she would leave peacefully.
"Why are you doing this, Mother?" Zoriel faced his mother after Amira had gone.
"What wrong have I done? I only showed her her place"
Zoriel sent a hard glare to his mother before taking his seat. He suspended his arm in the air and a maid quickly ran to attend to him. She bowed deeply and waited for him to speak.
"Take some food to the queen and remind her of her medication"
"Yes, your highness" she immediately scurried away to go and get the instructions done meanwhile Zoriel placed down his cutleries and stood up, all ready to leave.
"Are you leaving already? Finish up-"
"I've lost my appetite" he cut in while sending dangerous bone chilling stares down to Dominica.
"And soon, I will loose my temper" he walked away, leaving her dazed.
Inside a huge hall with chairs arranged like that of a parliament, different figures were seated all round. Some in the shape of humans while some in some other shapes.
The seats were arranged in two sides, the congregation and the high table.
They all discussed about the present matter on ground which was the issue of their leader, choosing a human for a bride.
"That is uncalled for!" A voice sounded from the high table.
"Bringing in a human is going to destroy the circle and weaken the force!" Another seconded.
"So what do we do? Our lord is very adamant as we saw the other day"
"We cannot let him bring in a human"
"Maybe we should crown another king!" A voice from the members said.
"There is no one else in line, his father had no brother and he is the only son" a voice from the high table countered.
"But our lord has made a decision, don't you think we should honour it?" Someone asked and this made chattering and murmurs to fill the atmosphere.
"Yes! We should honour it!"
"No, we should not!"
"There is absolutely no issue if he marries a human!"
"There's every issue if he does that! It has never been done in history!
"Non of his father's did such so why should he!?"
" Not because he is lord, he can do just whatever he likes!"
"It doesn't really matter, he is our lord and we cannot go against him"
"We also cannot sit and watch him bring a human into our midst! He has no right to do that, who does he think he is anyway?"
While the congregation bantered, the members of the high table only sat and watched, all were oblivious to the fact that Zoriel had arrived a long time ago.
They had no idea because he remained invisible, watching in annoyance as they all argued his matter.
He was also amazed to know that there were actually some who would dare to go against him, some who would talk bad behind his back.
Zoriel moved stealthily and overrode one of the members of the high table, taking full control of him and making him a puppet.
"Quite everyone!" He said through him and everyone went quiet.
"Alright, those in favour of the action of our lord, move to the right and those not in favour, to the left"
After he spoke, they all ignorantly located where they stood and waited for the next instruction when all of a sudden, Zoriel appeared before them, standing beside the one who spoke earlier.
"Lord Zoriel!" They all gaped in surprise before bowing deeply meanwhile some of them began to regret their words.
"Sone of you are generous" his calm voice was heard.
"Some of you are not" he continued as he walked towards the left side where the opposers were gathered.
"Some, respectful. Some are not"
"As I always say, spare the humble and give justice to the folly" Zoriel took three steps closer and now stood directly infront of a frightful creature with six eyes and eight horns, staring fearlessly deep into a set of it's eyes.
"You all are dismissed" he said to those on the right and they quickly bowed before hurrying out of the hall, knowing who their Lord was.
Only the opposers, the high table and Zoriel were left. With just a stare of his eyes, he sent the frightful creature with six eyes flying up in the air and it landed with a heavy thud, scattering into bits and pieces and splattering all its bowel on the ground.
Everyone who witnessed this flinched in fear as they stared with widened eyes, there was no need to beg for mercy because it was as good as begging for death.
Zoriel sauntered to the next creature and with only a gaze, it's skin began to peel off while it screamed in agony.
Zoriel was not going to waste much time so he turned around and walked away while the rest of the opposers began to burst out one after the other till the very last.
"Clean this up and get new members!" He ordered the high table members before fading into thin air.
SUNNYSHIRE KINGDOM
It was 8pm, darkness had covered the land and the only source of light was the moon. A loud scream of pain and anguish could be heard coming from the woods. It was the voice of a woman.
She screamed helplessly as was being overpowered by a man who held her two arms tightly behind her and buried his face in the crook of her neck. Her clothes had been completely ripped off, leaving her body bare and unclothed.
After a few minutes, her screams died down and her body fell limp. She had been completely sucked dry by Jake whose mouth was now bloody, his long fangs in full display.
Footsteps were heard from a distance, followed by a loud call "who's there?!!"
It was the voice of a night watcher.
