I slept in the nurse's office until someone called my name.
"Is Kaiser here?"
Oh, that's Reina's voice. Hearing her voice calling me, I woke up feeling refreshed. After using a lot of mana to heal Miss Yuzuki's wound, I slept for a while. From the look of it, class should be over now. It's time to go home. And does it mean that I skipped lunch? I'm going to find something to eat on the way home.
"He's here."
That's Halberd's voice. I look at the other bed and I can't see Miss Yuzuki there. I guess she's already okay.
"Is he dead yet?"
Why is my sister asking him that?
"He should be soon."
Then Halberd opened the curtain while carrying a pillow. I was about to say something before he shoved the pillow to my face.
"HMMMPH!"
"I think it will take a while until he stops breathing."
Fuck you Halberd! You're really going to kill a student?
He then looks at me and whispers something to me.
"Because of you, I'm even busier now. Take this as a punishment."
If it's not for me he will be even busier with a student attacking a teacher! I helped you!
Just get this pillow off of my face!
…Wait, is he hoping for me to attack him so he can get some days off? Or he's looking for a chance to get fired? Is that what's going on?
I know him. If he finds a chance to skip his work, he will do it. So that's his plan.
But I can't die just like this. Having a pillow pushed into my face won't kill me. Or maybe it depends on the brand of the pillow. The more solid they are, the easier it is to kill someone. Because I can still take a breath with this pillow.
Then maybe I can avoid being assassinated if I have this pillow brand in my house. Though it won't matter if the assassin uses a knife or a gun.
"Miss Yuzuki found the fridge and reported it to the Principal. Now I can't drink at school anymore," Halberd whispered.
That's not even my fault! That's your fault! Don't blame me for that!
He should be the one to get punished. If he loves pillow so much, he should be the one with a pillow on his face.
So I grabbed the back of his head and pulled him to the pillow that he's pushing on me. With this, he will get the same punishment.
"Kai. Mr. Halberd. You two look like you're kissing each other from here," Reina said.
""We're not kissing!""
Right in that instant, I stopped pulling his head and he also stopped pressing the pillow. That was a terrible choice to fight back.
I look at where the fridge should be at. But there's only an empty spot over there.
"That's totally not my fault. It's your fault for drinking at school. I'm sure Miss Yuzuki saw the beer can that you drank before. That's how she found out. It's your fault," I said.
"If you didn't heal her, I can just call ambulance and took her to the hospital. No one will find the fridge," he said.
Again, he's just making excuse. Well, it's just us blaming each other. It's not that important anyway.
Also if he really wants to kill me, he will use a surefire method. There are a lot of sharp object in this nurse's office. He can use any of them to kill me.
He's just so childish. But that's why I like hanging out with him more than with my classmates.
For me, being childish and immature are different. I like those who are childish because I'm one as well. But immature people for me are those who still don't know what is right and what is wrong. But they pretend that they know. And so for me, the most immature groups of people according to me are teenagers. That's why I don't like hanging out with them.
For childish, you can do that as long as you don't cross the line. It's fun. And hanging out with childish people is fun.
He still looks angry. So I'll show him something nice.
"Halberd. Watch this."
Not bothering to move from the bed, I roll to the side and reach to the floor with my right hand. Halberd and Reina looked at the floor curiously.
There's actually a gap between the floor tiles. Then I look around before reaching my pocket. I grabbed a coin since there's nothing else I can use.
Using that coin, I inserted it in between the gap of the floor and swiped it. Then something protruded from the floor.
"Don't press that button. But instead, slide it to the right. Then a handle will protrude and you can grab it. Only then you can open the hidden compartment," I said.
I opened the secret door and there's a hidden fridge. Smaller than the one that got confiscated by the school with several cans of drinks already inside.
I grabbed a can of beer for Halberd and two can of juices for me and Reina.
"Grape juice for me and strawberry for Reina," I said.
"Awesome. All sin is forgiven now," Halberd said as he grabbed the beer I threw at him.
"Kai, you know that I'm in the student council, right?" Reina asked.
"You know that strawberry juice is not for sale in anywhere near the school, right? And I know you like that one. Consider it as a bribe," I said.
"…Bribe received."
The one who should be an honor student is actually receiving a bribe. It's the fault of her brother that she grew up that way.
"So, how and when did you create this thing?" Halberd asked as he inspected the floor after he closed it.
"When I had the time. It's almost three years since I attended school. So of course I have some place to hide some things. This school is actually easy to infiltrate at night," I said.
For the mechanism, I actually got the help from someone from the slum. He taught me. And when I suggested to create something in my school, he agreed to help. It took around a month of coming here every night without getting caught for us to build this and put a fridge there.
"You are so diligent to be lazy," Halberd said.
"I'm diligent. So I can be lazy as much as I want," I said.
"I wish you can be diligent in your study though," Reina said before sipping her drink.
"So, what happened after I fell asleep?"
Halberd then informed of what happened. The boy got suspended because he attacked a teacher. But because Miss Yuzuki already forgave him, the punishment was lighter.
Miss Yuzuki was still feeling a bit of pain from the burn. So Halberd wrapped bandage around her face. I think it's more like she doesn't want to show her face to anyone.
She got a few days off from the school so she can get treatment. That's must be why Halberd baited me to attack him so he can get days off as well.
"Other than those who were here and some teachers and Principal, there's no one who witnessed you used healing magic. The Hero before said that it's best to not tell anyone that you're a healer. Because healers are always being targeted by evil people," Halberd said.
"And he's also one of those evil people," I said.
"Hey, he's a Hero."
"And I can see that Hero is talking to someone who might be his guild leader and pointed to this room from the outside. If he's trying to recruit someone who had just awakened two days ago, for me, he's evil. I can't trust him," I said.
Halberd and Reina looked outside the window and see the Hero from before with someone else. That Hero acted politely in front of the other guy.
"There are more people who are evil while acting kind than people who are plain evil. I think it's kind of obvious though. Well, that guild leader seems to be someone quite famous. Other students are watching him in awe. If he came here while gaining so much attention, the students who are attention-seekers and feel that they're better than other students will be hostile toward me. That will be annoying," I said.
"Isn't that not different at all from usual?" Reina asked. To which Halberd nodded.
"Why do people hate me when I don't bother to do anything bad?"
"It's not just bad. It's because your revenge are always overkill. I thought you're already aware of it," Reina said.
"Of course I'm aware. But it's still something I hate. Halberd, let's prepare to greet the guests," I said.
"How should we prepare?"
So while the two Heroes are on their way here, we planned of what treatment we should give them.
Just the first day of school after I awakened as a superhuman. Then I gained some Heroes' attention. I don't think it's good at all. More people will know more about me and will investigate me.
Just the appearance of the other Hero here will make other people who are watching aware that there's someone they should investigate. And if they ask the school about me, they will even learn about my address. So let's get things done here at school before they can go to my house.
The worst part is not the students who will be hostile toward me thinking that I gained a guild's attention. But other people who are most likely to be from an illegal organization watching those Heroes walking into the school.
