Hmm? It seems like the opponent is too smart for me.
I thought that he would be panicked and asked me what to do. He is actually asking me what to do. But he's too calm.
I was wrong. He actually has experience dealing with the underworld. Or maybe he's even part of the underworld.
Originally, I want to ask him to have his guild do whatever one thing I want them to do in exchange of all this. But it seems like that's impossible.
Damn. This is why I prefer to just swing my knives and kill people instead of being in charge of negotiation. It will be hard to get what I originally wanted. And I can't just ask them to protect us since I can't trust them. I already refused that offer anyway.
He acted like he was surprised that there were people following him. But he's actually more surprised that there's a sharp student in this school. So he was already aware that he was being watched. And that he will bring attention to me.
Now it will be difficult for me to not be watched after this. Should I just ask them to kill every suspicious person here?
But that won't be good enough. It's not like all of them are related to illegal organizations. Some may be from the association watching these guys for corruption or evil activities.
I thought that I could scare him. But I was wrong. Though it seems like we can end this peacefully.
Then to avoid attention from the illegal organization, I need someone to get those attentions. I'm going to suggest them to get Halberd with them to make it as if they're here just to see their old friend.
But before I could say anything, the guild leader sitting in front of me suddenly stands up. And his attention is toward the door to this room. Someone is approaching this room that made someone like him put up his guard. Someone strong.
I know it's weird. In real life, back when I was a gangster killing people, I can feel killing intent. Real life is not fantasy but I can somehow feel other people's killing intent. And feeling them saved my life several times.
I can somehow feel hostile intent in this world. Even if it's just from the people who doesn't like me. But from the approaching person, I didn't feel it at all. So he might not be an enemy.
Though I could be wrong. Because a few times in my past life, I met someone who wanted to kill me but they never released their killing intent at me. They are someone who can hide them. Just like me. And they are even worse opponent than those who can't hide killing intent.
So under the desk, I prepared magic circle on my hand. Drawing them using a pen to not gain the attention of the Guild Leader and the other Hero.
But when the door is open, I feel relieved. Because the person who came in is someone I know. It's Bob.
Coming into the nurse's office without a care in the world and only paying attention to me.
"Kaiser, I've found who those guys outside are. Most of them are from those who oppose this young Guild Leader," Bob said.
Maybe to make it less weird, he's wearing a grey suit. This is a school after all. There's no way he can get inside while looking like a beggar.
He's actually pretending to be the one who noticed all those people coming to the school and told me about it. To make it more like it was him who found them and not me.
"Umm… who are you?" the Guild Leader asked.
"He's a friend of mine. Someone who has been teaching me about the underworld in this city. And also a level 5 magician," I said
Of course I lied about his level. But a level 5 magician is already considered to be really strong. Level 6 is rare. And level 7 is already considered as a legend for magician. So having a level 5 magician as a friend, the Guild Leader will think twice before he's planning anything to me.
It's not like the Guild Leader here is evil. But if I hurt his pride too much, he might take revenge on me. He has been acting calm so far probably because there's no one here stronger than him. But that's not the case anymore.
"…Oh. No wonder you can find those people. Once again, I'm sorry for causing trouble to you. Is there anything that we can do for this?" the Guild Leader asked.
"Just leave. Kaiser here is my friend. We can easily protect him from anyone lurking around. Leave, get smarter, and try to think that every single person that you will meet in the future could be smarter, sharper, or stronger than you. Because I don't want to clean up the mess that you will make again in the future," Bob said.
Isn't he too kind? Maybe this guild is not that bad. That's why Bob has expectation on them.
"I'll keep that in mind. Then we will excuse ourselves."
The Guild Leader and the member of his guild in charge of protecting this school leave right away. I guess none of them are stronger than a level 5 magician.
Or maybe they think that Bob is from the underworld. And that I'm already affiliated myself with the underworld through Bob. So someone who need a name for themselves as a guild, they can't involve themselves with the underworld. At least not in public.
"Well, you coming here was unexpected. But thank you for coming, Bob," I said.
"Yeah. But what the hell is this? I thought this place is the nurse's office," he said.
"It is. I arrange it to greet those people. So, what will happen to those people outside?"
Bob looked at Halberd before looking at Reina who are still here. Then he looked at me before replying.
"I will leave them be. But if we find out that they have found out about you and are trying to come to you, we will help you by killing them," Bob said.
He actually said to kill them in front of my sister. But it's actually normal in this world.
This world, even though it seems similar to my past world at first glance, is merciless. Heroes actually kill Villains. So it's perfectly normal for anyone to suddenly see someone getting killed in front of them.
Of course those who witnessed it still feel afraid. But once they realized that the person killed was a Villain, they will be grateful to the murderer.
So now that Reina is afraid of those who are lurking around, she actually seems relieved after hearing that they will be killed.
"Still, for you to lie and said that I'm just a level 5 magician. What is your plan?" Bob asked.
"You don't want people to know that you're a level 6 magician, right? So I lower your level," I said.
"Level 6?! Kaiser, how do you have a friend like him?" Halberd asked.
"Easy. Go to the slum. Though I don't suggest Reina to do that," I said.
"What should I do in the slum?"
"Just find some people and treat them to a drink. They will be happy. If you're lucky, those people should be former Heroes," I said.
"I'll try next time," Halberd said.
Though I didn't buy them drinks when I get closer to them. I was just so weird that they became so worried at a kid for hanging around homeless people like themselves. Though we ended up becoming closer.
"Halberd, seems like Bob is going to say something more. Can you leave for a while?" I said.
"Sure. Just clean up everything here before any teacher comes in, okay?"
He left the room and now there are only the three of us here.
"Reina, this is my friend from the slum. And I lied again when I said that he's a level 6 magician. He's actually a level 7 magician," I said.
"Level 7?! Isn't that the highest recorded level for magician?!"
"Well, that seems to be the case, young lady. So you're Reina, huh? Nice to meet you," Bob said.
Now he looks like a friendly old man. But it's good that now Reina has met him. Bob is someone I can trust, so it will be great if Reina can trust him.
I didn't tell Halberd about Bob's real level because he might be too surprised about that. Although I'm pretty close to him, it's not like I can predict what he will do. If he screamed, everyone will know. Though I doubt that he's someone who would scream when hearing about it.
…But there's a part of me that wants to see him screaming. I think he will have ridiculous expression. Maybe I should just be honest with him.
"It's just the first day of school after your awakening. What happened to the point that you caught several people's attention?"
So I told him what happened. While cleaning the room and put the furniture back to where they were.
"I see. Reina, you don't have to worry about your safety or your family's safety. We from the slum are Kaiser's friend. We will protect you and your family. You can trust us," Bob said.
"Thank you. And thank you as well for being Kai's friend. I thought it was weird that he's friend with homeless people. But seeing that you're his friend, I'm glad to know that not all homeless people are bad," Reina said.
"Not all homeless people are bad. But it's still best to avoid us. Your brother is just the abnormal one to try to get closer to us."
Then Bob told us more about the people outside and even the guild. Seems like that guild is actually a guild that I can trust. They are not bad people.
"But they are still stupid to let those people come near a school. I'll remind them to not do this again later," Bob said.
That's right. Even if you're not a bad person, if you can't even notice that you will bring misfortune to the people around you by your actions, for me, you are no different than evil.
If I have to, I would even kill those two Heroes right here. But I'm glad that I didn't have to. And I'm glad that Bob is here.
And so, the eventful first day of school after class awakening is over. Let's go home and train again.
…After cleaning up everything here.
