The Umbra Feline and Steal Carapace were the only heritages he was familiar with visually. The rest were alien. All unbonded heritages would be transferred to a person's killer upon death usually by slaughter. Bonded heritage is never usually transferred considering they were part of a person's soul. People never usually bonded with weaker heritages, as the destruction of these heritages usually translated to soar damage. It was almost impossible to recover from sole damage continuously. There were currently no known remedies for soul damage.
Heritages could also exist outside of people of souls. They presented themselves in a crystal structure no bigger than the average man's palm. That was also how people often transferred heritages from one person to another. His inquisitive eyes remained fixated on the recent additions to his now long list of heritages.
' Now is as good a time as any,' He thought, and without wasting time he made his way towards one of the benches within the training room. After a swift sweep around the room with his gaze, he proceeded to turn his attention towards the bounty within his soul. The first to be scrutinized was Sweet Gaze.
Heritage[Mask]: Sweet Gaze
[Rank]: D
[Enchantments]: Persuasive
[Description]: Those who gaze into the eyes of the wearer find themselves drawn in by an inexplicable charm. The mask bestows upon its wearer an aura of persuasion, subtly influencing the emotions and decisions of those nearby. However, this effect is gentle and does not override free will.
The description was pretty straight forward and although it seemed like a handy heritage, Alaric didn't see much use for it with regard to his own workings. He moved on to the next heritage.
Heritage[Weapon]: Damestress
[Rank]: B
[Enchantments]: Whispering Edge, Resonant Authority
[Description]: A weapon of unparalleled elegance and lethal precision. Crafted by master artisans with centuries-old techniques, its beauty rivals its effectiveness in combat. The blade, forged from the finest steel, gleams with a mirror-like polish, reflecting the light in mesmerizing patterns as it moves. Intricate engravings adorn the hilt, depicting scenes of valour and glory, while jewels of sapphire and emerald accent its handle, adding a touch of opulence to its design
From the look of things, it was a pretty useful weapon Perhaps not as powerful as Aetherblade Nyx or Retribution but powerful nonetheless. Its two enchantments would be useful, Whispering Edge ensured that the blade would produce minimal noise when in use and resonant authority was quite a useful ability, when unsheathed, Damestress would emit a faint, melodic hum that resonates with power and authority. This sound serves as both a warning to adversaries and a source of inspiration for allies, instilling courage and resolve in those who fight alongside it. Overall given his situation he would keep the blade and use it in place of his two more powerful ones. Polished truth was next.
Heritage[Weapon]: Polished Truth
[Rank]: A
[Enchantments]: Clarity of Purpose, Divine Consequence, Selective Revelation
[Description]: "Polished Truth" is not merely a weapon but a symbol of justice and enlightenment. Crafted with meticulous precision and imbued with mystical energies, this weapon shines with a brilliance that reflects the purity of its purpose. The blade, forged from a rare alloy infused with the essence of truth itself, possesses a lustrous sheen that seems to illuminate even the darkest of shadows. Its hilt, adorned with sacred runes and inscriptions, exudes an aura of solemn authority, marking it as a weapon of divine providence.
Looking at it, it seemed like quite a troublesome weapon. It made sense why none of the underworld Lords used it during their confrontations. This powerful blade demanded hefty and steep standards for its use. The clarity of purpose enchantment Possessed the ability to reveal hidden truths that hid beneath the surface. When wielded by one who seeks justice, its blade resonates with a radiant glow, illuminating deception and falsehoods with unwavering clarity. It exposes lies, illusions, and deceit, laying bare the raw essence of reality. This enchantment was not the problem it was the one that followed, Divine consequence. The weapon's divine nature attracts the attention of those who would seek to misuse its power for their own ends. Its bearer may face trials and tribulations as they strive to uphold its sacred purpose. From this alone, Alaric assumed it was made by one of the so-called divine beings of this world perhaps the one who governed justice.
Selective Revelation was also quite a troublesome enchantment. While Polished Truth has the ability to reveal falsehoods, it does so selectively, based on the purity of the wielder's intentions. It may not always uncover hidden truths if wielded by one whose motives are clouded or tainted by personal bias or malice. This was the power of selective revelation.
'Troublesome indeed,' With a sigh he turned to the next heritage. Styagian Core, appeared twice, meaning he had two of them. From his knowledge, cores were meant to create enchantments and even weapons if they were powerful enough. This core however was a special one, it could exist as a heritage. Normal cores did not, they appeared like ordinary objects, unlinkable to one's own self. Now he had two... Styagian Cores. How either of those criminals had come into possession of such powerful cores was a mystery in and of itself. Beings whose cores could become heritages were very rare but also dangerously powerful.
Their cores were also very valuable and priceless because when triggered they could transform into a familiar type heritage or a weapon, they could transform into anything. Now he had two. Perhaps they were cores meant for selling to another corrupt official, but that didn't matter, they were his now. Everything within his soul was his. The duke had allowed him and his brother to keep whatever they received from their kills of the Underworld lords.
His attention returned to the information displayed before him and he couldn't help but exhale a slow surprised and measured breath.
"Well i'll be damned..."
