Alaric looked around with caution apparent on his face. What he had just found within his own soul space was beyond his wildest imagination. if the Duke found out that he possessed such prized and powerful relics and his arsenal, perhaps maybe his father would have thought twice about letting them keep whatever they had found.
The room around him was silent, you could hear a pin drop. Time crept by slowly as he tried to rearrange his thoughts and to no avail.
'This is impossible...'
He stood up from where he was sitting, and his hands found their way towards his head. Fingers laced and palms cupped, Providing a makeshift headrest where hi's occiput nestled comfortably. Before him was the revelation of what lay within his core. The two Styagian cores within his own core belonged to a dangerously powerful beast.
Heritage[Core]: Styagian Core
[Rank]: S-
[Enchantments]: Eternal Dread, Unyielding Resilience, Cataclysmic Roar, Soulreaper Blade
[Description]: The Styagian is a fearsome creature that embodies the darkest aspects of nature and the relentless force of a dread knight. Standing at nearly nine feet tall, it cuts an imposing figure with its heavily armoured frame adorned with ancient runes and symbols of doom. Its body is shrouded in swirling shadows, seemingly drawn from the depths of the underworld, which writhe and coil around its form like living tendrils of darkness. Despite its terrifying visage and formidable abilities, the Styagian is not a mindless beast driven solely by bloodlust. Deep within the recesses of its shadowy form lies a cunning intelligence, honed over centuries of existence. It is a creature of untold power and ancient wisdom, a force of nature that brooks no opposition and bows to no master unworthy of its servitude.
The core he possessed was the core of a dangerous and legendary creature. He had read of such a beast within the novel. It was under the command of Marquis Mangov, A man of great influence within the capital. The situation he found himself in had him questioning how the Marquis had come into possession of such a dreadful creature. Was he too a corrupt official? More questions grew in his mind watered by the suspicion evidently growing within him.
It seemed treachery ran deep within Astrevia.
'Relax... it might just be a coincidence.'
He tried to calm himself down and shift his thoughts back toward the present. A lot was going on right now and the best way to approach things would be to take it all one step at a time.
He possessed two cores Which meant if he was lucky enough he could receive a familiar from consuming either of them. However, he was also running the risk of being unlucky And receiving nothing, not even a weapon from consuming the cores. The wiser thing to do would be to have the cores made into something more powerful or having enchantments extracted from them and placed onto weapons. But that also meant the Duke would come to know that he was in possession of such grand assets.
The enchantments displayed were in fact the abilities the creature possessed before it was slain and its core claimed. He hadn't even addressed the fact that it was an S-ranked creature. The possibility of even having one under his command was mouth-watering to say the least.
But the possibility that he would gain nothing from two spectacular assets also rang through his mind. He could feel a headache coming on and so he decided that he should finish the rest of the heritages before deciding on what to do with the two cores. His attention turned to Breathpace, an artifact or charm more than anything.
Heritage[Tailesmen]: Breathpace
[Rank]: B-
[Enchantments]: Ethereal Protection, Harmonious Respite
[Description]: The "Breathpace" charm is a rare and coveted talisman, imbued with the essence of tranquillity and resilience. Crafted by ancient mystics using sacred rituals and infused with natural energies, this charm exudes a serene aura that instils a sense of calm and clarity in its wearer. Its design is simple yet elegant, featuring a small pendant adorned with swirling patterns reminiscent of gentle breezes and flowing waters.
The Talisman turned out to be a rather useful little gizmo. The two existing enchantments although not nearly as powerful as some of the enchantments he had come across so far, were rather useful. Ethereal Protection offered the user a layer of ethereal protection, shielding its wearer from the harmful effects of negative energies and emotional disturbances. It is a barrier against psychic attacks and intrusive thoughts, preserving mental clarity and emotional well-being even in the face of adversity. Harmonious Respite when activated, envelops its wearer in a soothing aura of tranquillity, providing a respite from the chaos and turmoil of the world around them. It slows the passage of time within its immediate vicinity, creating a pocket of calm where one can find solace and clarity amidst the storm.
He was quite pleased with what he was seeing. He had gained enough immediate strength now to be able to fend for himself in the short run. However in the long run he would be facing off against true powerhouses. He had to tread carefully and build his power and amass influence quickly but surely. Trying times would be coming soon and he had to be ready for them. Foul piece was the last and remaining heritage but he did not summon its information. Instead, he attended his attention back towards the 2 cores. he had already grown impatient.
The old him never used to like waiting anyway and so he decided he would finish things now and get it over and done with.
'Here goes nothing then...'
A brief mental message initiated the process of consuming the cores within his core. The heir laced with anticipation Held still And his bread came to a halt. Before him, the interface that belonged to the universe's consciousness brought to his attention what he had done.
