Chapter 10 - Confrontation

"How is it, did you find anything useful from him"Magnus asked Andy about the prisoner who was locked up for drugging him as he strode towards his exclusive lift.

"His name is David, a waiter in the hotel you stayed at. "

As they strode towards the exclusive elevator at the far end of the rooftop, Magnus shot a penetrating gaze at Andy. The glow from the setting sun danced in the sea-green eyes that mirrored the turmoil in his mind.

"I need to know everything about the guy who drugged me, David. Pull up his file, find out who's he connected to, and why the hell he's involved in this mess "Magnus ordered, his steps purposeful.

Andy nodded, quickening his pace to match Magnus's determined strides "I'll get on it right away, Mr. Christensen. Any specific details you want me to focus on?"

"Dig into his affiliations, any recent activities that might give us a clue. I want to know who's pulling his strings, "Magnus replied.

They reached the exclusive elevator, the polished doors sliding open with a hushed whisper. As they stepped in, the luxurious interior seemed to envelop them. Magnus's mind, however, remained focused on the impending investigation.

"I'll coordinate with our contacts and have the information ready for you, Mr.Christensen, Anything else you need?"Andy inquired.

Magnus paused for a moment, the weight of responsibility etched on his face Make sure it's thorough, Andy. We need to get to the bottom of this, and we need to do it fast."

As the elevator door opened to the dimly lit lower levels, Magnus and Andy stepped out into the heart of the building. The corridors buzzed with the energy of the criminal empire, but beneath the surface, a storm was brewing. The information Andy would uncover would be the key to untangling the web of deceit that threatened the very core of the Christensen family.

With a determined nod, Andy set off to carry out his tasks, leaving Magnus alone in the shadows of the underworld he commanded. As the echoes of their footsteps reverberated through the corridors, the shadows seemed to whisper secrets that only time and investigation would reveal.

Magnus went to the dungeon where David was held.

The cold dimly lit room seemed to echo with the ghostly remnants of pain and despair as Magnus Christensen entered. Ray, his trusted enforcer, stood near a solitary table, his hands stained with the blood. The atmosphere hung heavy with the aftermath of violence.

"Ray" Magnus's voice was calm but edged with a subtle intensity as he locked eyes with Ray."I need to know everything about the prisoner you interrogated".

Ray met Magnus's gaze, his expression a mixture of wariness and resilience. "He's a low-level thug, Magnus, not worth much. Tried to play dumb, but I broke him."

Magnus raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing Ray's demeanor. "Did you find out who he was working for? why he is involved in that setup?"

Ray hesitated for a moment, his eyes searching Magnus's face."He claimed to be a waiter, but I'm not buying it. There's something off about the whole thing. "

Magnus leaned against the cold wall, his mind working through the complexities of the situation. "Waiter or not, someone orchestrated the setup. We need to find out who's pulling the strings. "

Ray nodded, his gaze unwavering. "I'll keep digging, Magnus. We can't afford any loose ends, especially after what happened. "

Magnus left the interrogation room and went towards his exclusive suite which has an entire floor to it.

Two hours passed since Magnus entered his suite. Magnus, seated behind his desk, glanced up from his work, his sharp eyes locked onto Ray who stepped into the suite.

"Boss, we've got a situation that needs your attention, "Ray began, choosing his words carefully.

Magnus leaned back, a sense of anticipation growing." What's going on, Ray?"

Ray hesitated for a moment before speaking, "The guy who drugged you with the love drug, the one we've been interrogating, he's asking to see you before he spills anything. "

Magnus's brow furrowed, a mix of curiosity and irritation settling on his face."What does he think this is, a negotiation? Let's go. I want to hear what he has to say."

Ray nodded and motioned to one of the guards who opened the doors. As they strode out towards the interrogation room.

The air in the dimly lit interrogation room felt heavy with tension as Magnus Christensen entered the room. The prisoner, disheveled and bound to a chair, looked up with a mixture of defiance and fear as the door closed behind Magnus. The shadows seemed to dance around the room, casting an ominous backdrop to the impending confrontation.

"So, you thought slipping a love drug into my drink would be a clever move?"Magnus's voice was a low growl, the anger simmering beneath the surface evident in the hard lines on his face.

The prisoner, a wiry man with a sly grin, raised an eyebrow. "Well, well, if it isn't the great Magnus Christensen. I heard you had a wild night recently. "

Magnus's jaw clenched at the night in question. "Cut the games. Who sent you? Who wanted to see me compromised?"

The prisoner's grin widened. "Wouldn't you like to know, Christensen? Maybe it was just your conscience catching up with you. "

Without warning, Magnus's hand shot out, gripping the prisoner's collar, pulling him forward until their faces were inches apart."You don't get to play games with me. Talk, or things are going to be very unpleasant for you. "

The prisoner chuckled, a raspy sound that sent a shiver down Magnus's spine."You're not the tough guy you think you are. I did what I had to do, and I'd do it again."

The prisoner remained silent, a smug expression on his face. The love drug had done its job, leaving Magnus vulnerable and exposed, and the knowledge of that fueled the prisoner's audacity.

Magnus circled the table, a predator assessing its prey."You see, I'm not asking for myself. This involves my family, and you wouldn't want to underestimate the consequences of crossing the Christensen name."
