Chapter 32 - Push Back!

Through his divine eyes, Lee Han could see that the Vampire did not slow down his steps. With a surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins, Lee Han tightened his grip on the hilt of his sword.

As the creature approached, he saw its eyes glinting with hunger and malice. Lee Han's determination to kill this creature grew stronger.

With a swift, practiced motion, he swung his right hand, the blade slicing through the air with a deadly precision aimed at the Vampire's chest. Time seemed to slow as the sword arced towards its target; however, the creature vanished before his blade could touch its skin.

'Fuck! This bloodsucker still could dodge it!?' Lee Han cursed in shock as his body landed on the ground.

He turned back to see the creatures and was suprised to see him also stop a few meters from him.

The Vampire's crimson eyes narrowed at Lee Han. He seems shocked to look at him.

Lee Han can't help but ask, 'Lara, you said he is not as strong as the vampire I killed before?'

His eyes still looked at the creatures while he tightly held his sword hilt, ready to launch his second move.

'He's weak but fast! If I'm not mistaken, he has the same speed as you, Master. So, you have to find an opening to cut off his head. That's the only way you can win this fight…' Lara explained.

'I see,' Lee Han said while dashing again. He exchanged a few moves with the creature. He aimed at its neck, but every time he attacked, the creature avoided it. It even managed to counterattack.

Lee Han was grateful for his invisible shield; otherwise, the creature would have pierced his heart several times. But his invisible shield threw the Vampire a few meters backward before his hand touched his skin.

A few seconds later, Lee Han's attack showed no progress. He felt short of breath due to the fast movement that drained his energy.

Lara's voice suddently echoed in Lee Han's mind. 'Master, do you need my help? I can freeze him...' She could sense Lee Han's frustration with the creature's speed.

'Hell no!' Lee Han refused Lara's help immediately. He needed to hone his skills. He couldn't depend on Lara's power forever, could he?

'Hahaha, alright. But you have to end this Vampire soon. The others need your help,' Lara warned.

Her words were enough to make Lee Han even more focused on finding an opening to strike the Vampire.

...

Around them, trees fell and rocks shattered, the sound of explosions and howls still echoing through the air, making the atmosphere even more tense.

Victor's troops began to gain the upper hand over the adventurers.

Even though only a few evolved beasts remained, they were all boss types, and the adventurers couldn't kill them quickly. It took two or three people to defeat one beast.

Almost all the adventurers were running out of energy, and some would soon lose the power of their invisible shield as beast and vampire attacks frequently hit them.

John faced even more difficulty as he battled not one but two vampires. If this continued, John and his troops would soon meet their end.

Meanwhile, Lee Han struggled to find an opening to end the Vampire, unaware of what was happening around him.

Despite slicing his opponent's body several times, it wasn't enough to kill the creature; he needed to cop off the creature's head.

Another second passed, and suddently Lara shouted.

'Now, master!'

Lee Han could see the opening when the Vampire was distracted, looking in another direction. He marched incredibly fast and swung his Double Pandora sword with full strength toward the creature's neck.

Slice!

Lee Han landed on a large boulder behind the Vampire. His hands were splattered with blood, and the tip of the blade dripped blood.

When Lee Han turned to look back, he saw the lifeless body lying on the ground.

[Congratulations, Adventurer Lee Han, you have received 15 Gold coins.]

[You've leveled up!]

'Not bad!' Lee Han smiled, looking at his gold, filling his wallet again, and he also leveled up.

'Congrats, master,' Lara said, feeling proud of him.

'Thank you, Lara. You allowed me to attack this bloodsucker alone without help,' he smiled while taking a deep breath, feeling relieved that finally, one Vampire was down.

Lara giggled at his praise.

'You need to become strong on your own, master.'

'Yeah, that's my plan. So you can tell me your true identity...'

'Ahem, Master, by the way, you should help the others...' Lara distracted him from talking about her identity.

Lee Han was stunned. He looked in the other direction and was shocked by what he saw.

'Damn!'

Earlier, Lee Han had seen the adventurers gaining the upper hand after he helped finish off the Vampire-ants. But now, Victor's army pushes them back.

He immediately scanned his surroundings to find the adventurer who most needed help.

Lee Han spotted two adventurers, one of whom always mocked him. Their invisible shields were now powerless; the silver light that should have enveloped their bodies was almost gone.

They were facing a lion monster with three heads. One fought with his sword, while the other bombarded the creature's head with his automatic assault rifle.

Their efforts were in vain, as the Lion was still strong enough to counterattack with extraordinary strength and speed despite its large, heavy body.

Lee Han moved from his place and soon appeared beside the adventurers, aiming his rifle toward the lion monster.

"I will help," Lee Han said, but the man ignored him. He continued to shoot at one of the Lion's heads.

"Stop shooting the creature's head and aim for its legs," Lee Han suggested in frustration, realizing the attacks were useless and only wasting ammunition.

"The hell! Stop talking and go help, Timmy," the man shouted, then changed his cartridge clip.

Lee Han was speechless, shaking his head in frustration at the man's stubbornness.

"Lara, I need your help," Lee Han said, no longer willing to waste time. He needed to end this fight quickly before nightfall.

The adventurer, who had just changed his clip, was stunned to see Lee Han disappear from his side.

"Did he run away? What a coward," he mumbled while aiming his rifle toward the Lion's head. However, before he could shoot, his eyes widened in shock at what he saw.
