Chapter 1 - The beginning of an unusual relationship

In a place, looking like an ocean without waves, flat and clear.. a fifteen year old boy finds himself stand on water. It seems to be deep, yet he stands on it like It is a solid ground. The horizon is empty.. no light source, however it isn't dark at all. It is a normal day light brightness, but no sun is in the sky. He thinks to himself in that situation of unusual circumstances:

"It is weird.. I never thought I'd just die like that.. How disappointing. Ah.. My head hurts. How annoying. This sure feels weird.. being dead isn't like I expected it to be at all.. well, I am an atheist.. so, I guess I expected it to be 'nothing', which would make anything different from what I expected. Because the fact that I observe something is already different from nothing."

He chooses to walk around this unfamiliar place.. the only knowledge he posses being, that he is dead. He dosn't know where that knowledge comes from. But he decides not to question it for the moment. This place is bizarre enough after all.

While walking, he felt a weird warmth coming from behind him. As he turned towards it, he saw a young looking woman. She had long white hair, a stunning figure, blue eyes.. From the looks she would be in her twenties, he assumed. But something told him, she was way older. She sat on a small chair, at a table with two cups of tea and another chair. It is then, that the boy noticed the halo above the womans head. He began speculating about her, but failed to explain it logicly. Which leaved him no choice, but to walk towards her. However, he was still cautious. But before he could doubt the saftey of the situation any further, the woman spoke to him..

"Welcome, my child. You're not between the living anymore. But don't be afraid. I will be your guide in the afterlife and your lawyer in your judgment. My name is Hikari Yuki. Fancy a cup of tea?"

Her voice was smoothing, in a way.. it felt devine and full of kindness. Her long white hair, the blue eyes, her feathery wings.. there was no mistaking it. She had to be an Angel! Or so he thought.. He still had doubts about her trustworthiness. Which seemed annoying in his empty eyes. His eyes were usually empty, even as he was alive. But now he had a slight spark in them. As if he planned something.. So, he spoke in a cold voice in responds to her loving one..

"How did I die?"

"It seems you don't remember much... Maybe a sudden end of your life disturbed your mind, and you lost your memory. This is not a rare situation.. But don't be sad! I'll be here for you, and I will tell you everything that's essential in the afterlife. Now enjoy your tea~"

He thought it to be a simple question. If she would infact be an angel, she shouldn't have any difficulty answering it, he thought. But her responds annoyed him slightly, but that wasn't something he was planning to let her know. Instead he wondered about something else..

"I don't like tea."

This.. was actually a lie. Infact, he loved tea. He thought it made him look whise when he drank it. But it wasn't like he just liked them because of that.. he also liked the flavors of most varieties of tea. But why did he lie then? Was it because he was embarressed to admit that fact? No, not at all. He was testing something.. her, to be specific. If she'd be a omniscient being, he wouldn't have any infuence on her. So, she would easily see through any lie he tells, if she is infact omniscient. He couldn't risk that for what he planned to do, if she really would be omniscient. So, it was important to know for sure if she was or not. Her responds to his lie would show.. and she did respond.

"You don't like tea? Are you kidding me? Tea is the most delicious and healthy thing in the world~!"

That response.. was rather playful. But it gave him many informations about her. First, if she is infact aware of it being a lie, she wasn't offended. Or atleast, didn't lose control over her emotions and showed anything. So, that left him with three options. First, she is infact omniscient, but not arrogant or offended by his behaviour, even if it is disrespectful. Second, She is omniscient, and arrogant, but hides that from him and that would mean that he would have a problem now. Or, the last and best option in this situation, she isn't omniscient and didn't realise that he lied at all. It was like a gamble.. with three posible outcomes. And he wins in one of those.. 33.33% chance of success. He did have worse odds before. So, it wasn't too bad. But he had to keep the conversation going.. but playful personalities like her weren't his favorite things to interact with. However, he was willing to accept that for now and responded. He had to take the gamble.. 33.33%.. it was enough for him to dare something, most people would call beyond crazy.

"Ah, well.. it just is like that. Don't worry about it. How about we play a game? If you win.. I'll drink your tea. But I have some special conditions for the case of me winning.."

She puts one hand under the chin and thinks.

"A game, huh? Well... Ok. But only because you asked me so sweetly.. and I want you to drink my tea. Which game you have in mind?"

That was perfect.. No, it wasn't completly.. she could still ask, even tho she already knew what he had in mind. She could try to trick him. But he had to go through with the gamble. So, he adjusted his voice to not sound that cold and spoke.

"Chess.. but I have winning conditions. You might call them ridiculous, tho."

She looked interested at that remark.

"Chess is a classic, but... What kind of special conditions are you talking about? I'm in to play it anyway."

He thought on how to phrase it.. but chose to be blunt.

"If you lose.. you become my property. I can do whatever I want with you, as you are a mere object to me. Free of any will and opinion. Only to be my pet and slave. This won't effect your status towards other people, tho. If you see yourself as superior to everyone, this won't change, only with me being an exeption then. Do you accept these terms?"

Those conditions were indeed ridiculous.. he was about to play against a devine.. and all he had to lose was having to drink a cup of tea. While she bet basicly her entire being on this chess game. But.. she was a devine.. so, she didn't even concider losing to this fifteen year old.

"I have no idea why you want to possess me so much, but if you want to play your silly games, I can play it. And don't think that you can beat me anyway."

She snapped her fingers, and on the table, a chess board appeared out of thin air. But he didn't move a muscle at that. It didn't seem to impress him at all. So.. he did what no sane person would do..

"Since you bet so much, I'll make all my moves with only two seconds of time. So, considering that I'll take about one second to move the pieces, I'll have one second of thinking for each move. Should I fail to do so, I lose Instantly. Deal?"

She nods with a smug expression and responds almost having pity for him. It looks like her pureness was just a facade, after all..

"The rules are quite unfair to you now, but I'm willing to play. Since you offered the idea, now you make the first move!"

And so they started playing. Him only taking one and a half seconds for each move. No matter what she played, he responded almost instantly. His eyes weren't even on the board at times.. which frustrated her for two reasons.. one being, that he wasn't even taking it serious.. but the other.. the other reason was the place his eyes were gazing at instead.. he, while playing perfectly without looking at the board, was staring at her breasts. It was quite embarrassing for her. Maybe that was why he did it in the first place? To mock her. Well, yes and no. It was infact him emotionally manipulating her into discomfort and irritation.. but he also was just attracted to them. But she couldn't focus on that.. after all.. she noticed it. She wasn't in a good position. Infact.. it was like he wasn't even trying to mate her. It was like he just wants to take all her pieces. Until only the king was left. All while still only using one and a half seconds for each move. She.. was losing? Her, a devine, losing against a fifteen year old.. that stared at breasts.. this had to be a joke.. how could it be real, she thought.. but it was very real. She realized that.. the moment she had no pieces left. And her king was in a prison, where she only had two moves. Just enough for it to not be a draw. And then, eventually, she got mated by a pawn. Yuki stared in shock as she realizes she has lost. Her face turns red with a combination of anger and embarrassment. She bites her lip in anger but finally admits her defeat.

"Fine. You win. But I'll say this! You are nothing close to a human. Your.. way of playing.. and the.. stuff you looked at.. that's.. just inhuman. Amongst all other angels.. I am the smartest.. I even drawed against god in chess once! But.. you.. well, in any case, I am now your property now..! Is this the moment you ask for a wish or what?"

He just looks at her.. no emotions in his face. Lacking happiness about winning against something divine so easily. Then.. he just pats her head and quietly speaks.

"I'll have many wishes directed at you in the future, Pet. But for now, I want you to listen to my word and my word only. If I say something it's a law that is to be followed. Understand?"

One would think that to be a ridiculous request.. but she already accepted it.. his superiority was incomprehensible to her. So, she was already in a deep state of admiration for him. It was almost like an obsession.. she wanted him.. to be proud of her.. she didn't know why.. maybe because she saw him as god now. But it didn't really matter to her. All she knew was.. that her new master was the most superior human she will ever meet. She blushed and without hesitation, she spoke in a voice of admiration.

"Yes, Young Master. I will do my best to follow all your commands. I have no choice but to serve you as my master with loyalty. Is that good for you, Master~?"
