"Yeah, I should agree," she said, and she brought me back to my bed, this time on my legs.
She laid on the bed and then helped me to stay relaxed. After that, she turned to me and said, "I am going now. I will be back by evening; until then, have a good time."
"Ok, by the way, what is your name?" I asked her, wondering how I had missed asking it prior.
"I am Joshua." With a smile, she spread her hand towards me, and I gladly accepted it. Then she came from there, and I leaned back. I don't have anyone else to talk to or spend time with. The new nurses joined their shift, and when they saw me awake, they were shocked and said a nominal hello to me. Yet they were not friendly, like Joshua. Yet, I don't need them. I silently took my medicine and food, which they had offered me. I waited till the evening before Joshua came back to the hospital.
I don't even know how the evening and night passed by but the day has arrived, and I am preparing myself for the fights I have to face tomorrow. There are a lot of questions running through my head, and I don't even know how to face them. Did someone really threaten Kelly? I don't know, but I know one thing: this time, I won't let anyone win easily. There won't be any place for any kind of relationship in my life. Even though it was proven that Kelly didn't do anything by herself, I won't let her stay in the same position I gave her earlier.
Instead of getting into their trap and doing all this, she could have trusted me and informed me of everything earlier, which she didn't and now I don't want her.
"Kelly, be prepared. I am coming back and I will take everything that is completely mine. It's a promise, not to you but to me and my soul, who gave me a second chance.
While I was in my treatment room, my doctor came in and checked on me. After that, he said, "You can go back today. For now, everything is fine but if you feel any pain or anything, come here immediately. Don't neglect anything, understand?"
"Ok, doctor, I will remember whatever you said and I thank you for caring for me all these days. I will pay all the money back within a few days," I replied. I know that even though they didn't ask me anything, the treatment they gave me also costs, and I can't just let it go in vain.
"Hmm, actually, your treatment cost was paid off by the insurance. You don't need to pay a penny either," the doctor said, making me confused. What insurance is he stalking about? I never took any kind of insurance and basically, I can afford any cost that would arise.
"What are you saying, doctor?" I questioned him with a frown in my face, to which he simply nodded his head and said, "Yes, you don't need to pay anything. Now don't think about it and get some rest before the procedures are completed."
"But.," I was turned off in the middle by Joshua and replied, "He said it was cleared. Why are you stressing so much about it?"
"Because, as far as I know, I never got any kind of insurance, then how can they pay my money?" Ii answered.
"You would have forgotten about it. Now don't stress your mind so much or else you will get headaches. Within one hour, I will complete all the procedures and send you back. Until then, stay calm," she smiled genuinely, and the thought of not meeting her again is making me feel bad but I didn't say anything and just nodded my head.
"Good girl. Let me complete everything and I will be back," she answered, then got away from there.
I waited for her patiently and decided to take her mobile number with me so I could be in contact with her. I don't fuck what she thinks about me and I don't even know what my situation will be after going from here. So I thought to take her number and keep it with me. If everything was good, I would contact her back, or else I wouldn't even text or call her. I thought to myself and then kept my eyes glancing toward the door.
As she said, she came in after an hour and gave me a letter asking me to sign it. Without a second thought or without checking anything, I signed up, and she too didn't check anything.
"You can leave now. But how will you go and where will you go?" She asked me.
"I don't know where but don't worry, I have places to go. Um, can I get your number, please?" I answered, to which she simply nodded her head and passed it to me. I accepted it gladly, getting out of bed. She tagged me along until I reached the exit gate of the hospital, and when I was about to step out, she stopped me by holding my hand. I looked back at her, asking what happened but she simply smiled, kept her hand inside her pocket and fetched a few dollars for me.
Keeping those in mind, she answered, "I don't think you have some money with you, and there is no one to pip you up. I know these are not much but they would help you reach your place and get some food."
Her generosity touched my heart and I immediately pulled her into a tight hug. "Thank you for your kindness. I will return these to you," I said without breaking my hug. She wrapped her arms around me and patted me on the shoulder, saying," Don't think about it much. Everything will be fine. Take care of yourself."'
I nodded my head and said," I would definitely take care of myself."
