Chapter 23 - Business Battles

Zephyr

As I was entering my cabin, my assistant greeted me with the following statement: "Sir, today we are going to get the results."

"Yes, I know. Our departure from this location is scheduled to take place within the next thirty minutes," I responded while continuing to work on the file.

"Yes, okay, sir." In response to Daniel's statement, I could not help but smirk. "I just reminded you, and I want to see the reactions of the person who did all of the things on your back," he said.

"Let's wait for the fun and what about other things? How is everything going on? Have you prepared my schedule for today?" I asked, to which he replied, "Yes, I did, sir. But I didn't plan any meetings or schedules for today, as you would be busy with this project."

"Ok, good. Get a cup of coffee for me, please," I said, pressing my forehead with my fingertips.

"Ok, sir," he said and he immediately walked out of the room. I kept the files out of sight and leaned back, closing my eyes. From that day on, I didn't hear anything from Ava, and it made me breathe a sigh of relief. But last night, in a meeting, I met her father again, who blackmailed me and warned me that if I didn't marry his daughter, he would withdraw his shares from my company. The one thing I never like is someone blackmailing me, and he crossed it. In the next five minutes, Daniel walked in with a cup of coffee in his hands, and the smell of coffee made my nerves calm down.

"I want all the shares of Ava's father's company to be tarnished within the next 15 minutes, and I want to inform him that he is no longer a share holder nor a client to us." I ordered a coffee.

"I have already completed the arrangements, sir. I'm just waiting for you to give the order," he said with a smile, and I looked at him with a subtle nod. Because he has been my assistant from the start, he knows every move and every decision of mine.

"Ok, let's go," says Aid, standing up from my chair and grabbing my coat, mobile, and goggles. Daniel looked at his wrist watch and nodded. He had been wlaking out of my cabin along with me. While going down, he entered his cabin and got the tab, which he used to keep everything up-to-date. He followed me into the lift and said,

"I just received a call from the team. They announced that the results would be revealed at precisely 10:30 a.m. So we should reach there by that time.'

"Hmm," I hummed in response, nodding my head. I glanced at his face, which was glowing with excitement. Instead of tension, he is feeling excited. "What kind of assistant did I get?" As I murmured, he looked at me and questioned.

"What I did now that you are even regretting about me."

"What did you do?" Have you seen the faces of other company assistants? They would probably be in tension, thinking about whether they would get that project or not, and analyzing how they should explain it to their boss. But look at you; you are not even stressed about it, and on top of that, you are excited. I don't know what I should do with you," I sneered.

"They should be in tension because they know that they aren't alone and have to manage their bosses at Aunty Cost, but look at me. I know you and our company would definitely crack this project without a second thought, so what's the point of staying in tension rather than preparing myself for the battle and the fun that is going to play in front of me?" He answered, which brought a smile to my lips.

I looked at him and nodded my head. I know he is right. He is used to it, in fact; however, when I started from scratch, he was with me, and now, after being the top businessman, he is with me as an assistant. With the knowledge and talent he possessed, he would be able to climb the ladders in his career, yet he declined everything and stood with me as my assistant. That's why I let my guards down around him and never asked him to behave curtly with me. In fact, we both have a friendly relationship between us rather than a boss-employee relationship.

"What are you thinking?" He inquired, tapping me on the shoulder.

I broke my chain of thoughts with a tap on my shoulder and shook my head, saying it's nothing. Just then, the lift door opened with a ding sound, and we both walked out to my car. My driver came forward to see us, but I said no to Bim and threw the car keys towards Daniel.

I have all kinds of cars, and Daniel has so many. He loves to drive different cars, which are expensive, but whenever I wanted to gift him, he just denied it. So, whenever he is around, I will let him drive my cars. One should hear his complaints while driving my cars, and I would definitely say:

"He would do better as a marketing person." But I say only for cars. If not, it's for cars; he doesn't even open his mouth and becomes a total dump, making others think that he is a mute one.

While he started talking about the RA he is driving right now, I saved myself by stuffing my ears with my headphones. We arrived within 30 minutes and entered the building. By the time I reached them, everyone else had already arrived, and I was the last one to do so. Yet, I didn't apologize or acknowledge anyone. Ava and her father are also present in the front row.

After looking at me, Ava and her father walked towards me with a smirk. She spread her arm in front of me and shook my hand. Out of business purposes, I shook her hand, and she said,

"You rejected me. You will learn very soon what you lost. All the best."

After saying this, she went away, and I smirked at hearing her.
