Asher Shadow:
"I did this for the safety of the country and you are blaming me for this? Why don't you understand, sir?" Asher argued.
"I know you did this for the sake of the city, Asher. But what you did was wrong. You just can't shoot someone who is going to be a great witness for this. Do you even know how many drug dealers there are in this city? Even though he is not the Lord, he is still one of the main characters, and with him, we would have found everyone. You need to submit him to the court and then get all the information from him, but what did you do? You just shot him to death. It is a mistake and you crossed the rules," his higher officer retorted.
"Oh, so I have to chase him again and again and lock him up in jail." I should see him while he is shooting our police officers and running away. Then also, should I chase him back and keep him in lock so he can repeat this again? Then why didn't you respond when I caught him for the first time? Because of these fucking rules, I chased him and caught him again. Now he shot one of our department members, sir. This isn't going to work and we know that when the culprit crosses his limits and hurts any of our department members, we can shoot him. I too know these fucking rules."Ashger snapped out. He is totally out of his control and agitated, seeing how the situations are unfolding in front of him.
"Then you can either shoot him on the legs or hands and scsare him. Don't defend yourself, Asher. You are crossing your limits and don't forget, you are talking with your higher chief officer. Watch your tongue," he warned.
"Then how would I react, sir? Are you expecting me to bow to you and say, "It's okay, sir, I will try and accept your punishment for the mistake I didn't make?" Asher was not thinking to control himself and everyone was looking at them in surprise.
Asher is an example for every department there. When there is a mistake, he will accept it; he won't ever cross his borders with seniors and chief officers. I would respect everyone and deal with every problem with a lot of patience. Even with the culprits, he won't lose his control until it is needed but this is the first time they are all hearing him argue back to his senior officer.
"So what would you say? We just sit back and watch whatever you do without taking any action. I know you did this for the city but see outside how everyone is watching us and how political parties and the public are questioning us about how we can kill someone like that and why we did that when we know he is the one who can take us to the main culprit. This suspension was not my fault, and it was an order from the government. This whole scenario went out of the hands of the department and entered the hands of the government. Now we just need to follow their orders. Anyway, it's only for a month, right? Take some rest, and you can come back. In between this gap, we would settle down everything," his senior officer tried to make him calm down.
"It's the fucking moths, sir. Not just a month and I am getting this punishment because I shot one of the culprits," Asher said in his high-pitched voice but there is an underlying sadness in his tone.
"You yourself are saying he is one of the culprits, which means he wasn't approved of the culprits until Asher. What if he is proven innocent? Would you be able to bring him back and give him back to his family? You would say, 'I am sorry for the mistake.' But your sorry won't get the dead man alive, Asher. Don't you dare argue more. I will make sure to extend your suspension for six months if you say one more word," his senior officer said.
"You will make my suspension expand for 6 months more? Great, I am sorry, sir. I chose this career not only for the financial benefits but also to serve my country and demonstrate my respect for it. However, I understood that the government and the departments don't need officers like me who work without selfish motives. You all need some animals who will just nod their heads to your order and every statement. You don't need someone who is ready to give his life for the community; you need someone who will just sit and drink here, waiting for the orders to pass. If this is what you are expecting from me, then I am sorry to say this, sir. I can't ever be like this. I can't just watch while the criminals are shooting out departing men and trying to escape. And coming to the criminal word, I have all the proofs that he isn't just a criminal but a criminal." Asher paused and took a breath. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. After that, he opened his eyes, removed the stars from his desk, and placed them in front of his senior officer, along with his police cap, badge, and stick.
The senior officer looked at him in confusion and questioned, "What are you up to, She? "Don't spoil your career with your unnecessary ego."
"This is the problem, sir. You are still saying that I am being selfish and having an ego but you are not seeing my self-respect and my wound. I don't want to work in a place where I don't get my respect and where there is no value for me; there is no need for my presence either. I am getting down from my position, sir. Since today, there has been no relationship between me and this department. I am very disappointed to hear this but I can't accept the punishment for the mistake I never committed. I have kept all the records of the bullets I use. Goodbye, sir; I am resigning," Asher said, giving the final salute to his senior officer.
The senior officer left his tongue tied and tried to stop him but Asher wasn't in a state to listen. Finally, he gave up and said, "If you change your mind, then come back. I won't accept your resignation and will just consider this a long leave. After you calm down, think about this again and take a decision."
"Whatever is aid was true, sir. There is no need to think again. I won't ever be back; even if I starve to death, then I won't be back," Asher said and turned around.
He got near his table and packed all his belongings. A few of the people in the department came to him and tried to stop him.
"Mr. Shadow, we know whatever happened to you is not good but do you need to leave this job and go? You inspired everyone of us with your style of working, your discipline, and your behavior. In fact, everyone of us learns how to be honest and disciplined after looking at you. Why don't you sit for a moment and think again? Department would lose a gem if they lost you. Please consider our request," they pleaded, which touched Asher's heart.
He had tears in his eyes, but he controlled himself and turned around to look at them. "I am really happy to hear that it inspired you all to be more disciplined and strict. I am really thankful for the love you have for me and for shining on me, but be practical. This department has so many people who are much more capable than me and more disciplined. I am sorry to say this; I can't just accept this and I don't want to be in a place where my hard work isn't recognized. I can adjust if they don't recognize me or if they don't give me promotion but suspension isn't something I can ever accept. I am so sorry to turn you all down. If you really have respect for me, will you all do one thing for me?" Asher questioned.
"What was that, sir? We will do anything for you," they answered.
"Please, whatever you have learned for me, don't ever forget that, and just move on with those in your mind. If a man had discipline and was honest in his profession, he would definitely reach great heights in his life," Alex said, and everyone nodded their heads.
After that, he took his belongings, turned around, and walked out of the station, and everyone followed him. They tried to hold their belongings but he didn't accept them and took them by surprise. When he stepped out from there, he saw media people waiting for him or for the senior officer; he too didn't know about it.
