Chapter 3 - Positivity

"Why is time moving so slowly?" Can't it be a bit after?" Maya groaned. She was so excited for the day she was going to face. It's a day on which her dream materializes into reality.

She stayed still at her place to let the wee hours of the day pass and the day start. She started rolling but the time was too slow to kill her.

"If I get a chance to kill this time, I will do it right away. Oh heavens, please pass the time quickly; I can't wait anymore." Maya was indeed going crazy with her excitement. She looked all over and finally got up from the bed, as she was unable to stay still. Preparing a cup of coffee for her, she walked out of the room to the open area of her apartment.

She lives in a tiny room. It doesn't have any other room except the bathroom, so her kitchen, her bed, and her study table lie in the same room. Even though her room is tiny, she is never sad for that. She is happy with what she has. She was staying with Iron's family, who have a great name and fame in the business world. She completed her cup of coffee, thinking about her past and her earlier days.

"My bad days would end today and I would be leading my life as I wanted to, doing what I dreamed of." She visualized her happy image before her eyes and filled her heart with infinite happiness.

Maya Irons, an adopted daughter of Irons. They adopted her when she was just months old, as they don't have their own kids. However, miracles won't happen without proper knowledge. When Maya was around four years old, Mr. Irons got pregnant and delivered a baby girl. Science then turned the baby girl into the princess of the Irons, while Maya slowly transformed into a maid for them. Even then, Maya never complained about it. At first, she used to cry at their harsh behaviour towards her but as she started growing up, she realized that she wasn't their biological daughter. Slowly, she accepted the fact and she said to herself,

"I am not their own blood yet they allowed me to stay in their house. I just need to cook and work for them. I am doing my studies so someday I will be away from them." Maya has a positive outlook every day. When she turned 18, she wanted to move out of the family, as she didn't even have a small place to stay or sleep.

"You are now officially our daughter, so if you go out and rent a room, it would bring a bad name to us. How can you think of degrading us?" Her mother slapped her.

"I won't say to anyone that you are my parents. I would keep it a secret forever," Maya said with tears in her eyes and a soft voice.

"So, what would you do with our surname on the back of your name?" Her father questions her.

"Mom, dad, leave Maya. She wants to rent a small room so why don't you simply accept her request?" Her younger sister came to her rescue and freed her hair from her mother's grip.

"What are you talking about, Kelly? How can you say that? Don't you know what would happen to us if something happened like this?" Her mother and father asked in unison.

"Wait, I said, fulfilling her wish. I didn't tell you to let her out and stay outside," Kaira said, to which they both looked at each other first and then at her.

"What do you mean?" Her mother questioned her. Maya was looking at Kaira with curious eyes. Kaira loves Maya so much and she was the only one who never let her parents hit her.

"What I mean is. There is a room upstairs. So why don't you rent the room to her and let her stay upstairs? So it would fulfill her wish and at the same time, you both don't need to let her go out," Kaira suggested, shrugging her shoulders. Maya was flabbergasted to hear her spontaneous suggestion, but she also knew she had to work for them if she stayed there.

"Rather than sleeping on the floor and not having any freedom, it's somewhat better. Once you go back to your room, you can sleep, read, and do whatever you want. Don't think much about it," her inner soul suggested.

"Ideas was great. Maya, you can follow her suggestion if you want. If you don't want, you can't shift to anywhere," her father suggested.

"Even though you shift from here to upstairs, you need to come and do the work here," her mother added.

"Yes, I am ok with it. I will gladly accept it," Maya answered.

"Ok, you can shift there. One more thing you have to do is clean your room by yourself and make it suitable for you. None would do that for you," her mother passed an order to which Maya agreed.

Maya recalled those memories when she moved to this room; however, nothing changed in her life, and as she expected, she got a little privacy and little to read. Maya works three jobs a day to earn her living. She wakes up early, at 6:00 a.m., and then prepares everything for the Irons family. Then she goes out and works in a small cafe near her university. After her classes, she works in another cafe and then she works as a home tutor for some kids near her university. By 8:00 p.m., she comes back and then prepares dinner and does the pending work. By 12:00 a.m., she would complete all the work, get back to her room and then sit down to study. This is her routine lifestyle.

"Whatever life has taught, I will never forget," she thought to herself, sipping the final drop of coffee and waiting to get ready. She got freshened up, completed the world, and went to the registered office, only to get the shock of her life.
