From within the Earthquake fissure, another Eevee appeared.
In appearance and size, it was the exact duplicate of the one that had confronted the Fossil Pterosaur moments before.
"This is—"
Up to this point in the battle, Jiang Ran stood up, his eyes scrutinizing.
It was all too familiar; tactically, it bore an uncanny resemblance to Fang Yuan's novice Eevee.
"Substitute?"

Bubble: Launch a water ball attack which, similar to Leech Seed, has the effect of absorbing the physical strength of the target hit and converting it to one's own use.
Through the combination of tactics involving Multitasking, Substitute, Illusion Technique, and Water-type Partner Technique, Fang Yuan and Eevee had severely wounded Fossil Pterosaur and, just like in the first battle, Eevee had scarcely used any physical strength.
In the sky, the Fossil Pterosaur that had just been hit by Bubble started to show erosion-like changes on its skin, while its body was filled with shocking internal injuries, the intense pain waking it from Eevee's illusions.
But before it could react, a powerful Confusion once again immobilized it in midair!
On the ground, nearly simultaneously, one Eevee used Confusion to restrain, while the other Eevee launched another Bubble attack.
Under Shang Ren's command, Fossil Pterosaur quickly employed Dark Type Moves like Thrash in an attempt to break free from the Confusion with brute force.
But having already had its physical strength sapped by half from a previous Bubble and suffering severe injuries, Fossil Pterosaur could hardly muster the strength to break free quickly.
It managed to escape eventually, but the second Bubble hit soon after.
With a "bang," in the sky above, Fossil Pterosaur plummeted down, and the exploding water droplets, once again like blue starlight, flowed back to the two Eevees.
The battle was decided.
Seeing the Fossil Pterosaur fall, the majority of Trainers fell silent, or rather, they had been at a loss for words since the battle began.
Substitute Technique? Water-based Spell?
The proficiency with which this Eevee used Substitute Technique was simply astonishing.
