Chapter 464 - Chapter 450: Examiner: I TM_1

As the man in the suit finished speaking, the quiet classroom immediately became restless.

At the same time, everyone discovered that the signals of communication devices such as mobile phones were now completely cut off.

The room behind the podium in this hall, where the examiners were located, must also be a battle room.

Although the soundproofing of the room was very effective, the faint sounds of battle could still be heard in the now quiet hall.

The man in the suit read out one name after another, letting the next person in about every 10 minutes.

However, none of the trainers who went in before had come back out.

"The trainers being assessed later are really unlucky…" Hao Feng shook his head, muttering to himself.

Like any examination, the later it gets, the more nerve-wracking it becomes. Those who are confident might manage, but for those who are unsure, it's incredibly cruel.

With every minute and every second that ticked by, the meeting hall was so quiet that the ticking of a wristwatch could be heard clearly, creating a rather oppressive environment for the examinees.

But, due to the numerous warnings on the walls, no one dared to talk loudly to relieve the tension.

About two hours later, Fang Yuan started to get a bit restless from sitting. It was mainly because there was no cushion for his buttocks, making the hard seat uncomfortable. Otherwise, he was confident he could sit for several more hours, a confidence that came from being a student.

"Fang Yuan!!"

He was about the fourteenth person, as the man in the suit called out Fang Yuan's name.

The sound made Fang Yuan feel light all over.

Fang Yuan smiled as he stood up. Giving a thumbs-up to his comrade Hao Feng, who was looking at him, Fang Yuan confidently walked towards the room...

"Oh my…" Hao Feng was in disarray.

...

After entering the assessment room, Fang Yuan found it was not just big, but huge. As the door opened, it revealed a massive battle field which, by "foot feeling," Fang Yuan deduced must at least be of a high enough standard to withstand Master Level battles.

Beyond the battlefield, at the very front, there was a towering podium, with no other structures beyond that.

The seven examiners and judges on the podium had already flipped to Fang Yuan's information for the next assessment.

The data on Fang Yuan just consisted of his name, sex, age, the Pokémon information he had registered, and the score of the first written test.

The information was scant, but it was enough for these examiners and for this assessment.

When the examiners saw that this candidate was under twenty years of age, many were taken aback.

It wasn't out of disdain for Fang Yuan because of his youth.

In fact, in the assessment that morning, a female trainer proficient with Ghost Type Pokémon had demonstrated an extremely high standard, and she was of a similar age to Fang Yuan.

Besides, these examiners had heard that there would be a young Psychic participating in this assessment...

No examiner would underestimate any candidate because of their age.

Moreover, the names of the Pokémon listed on Fang Yuan's data, such as Monferno, Dragonite, Self-detonating Magnetic Monster, Milotic, and others, had already proven Fang Yuan's capabilities.

Among the examiners, two of them seemed ecstatic and couldn't stop their lips from twitching when they saw Fang Yuan's name and Pokémon data.

One of them was Hu Guanxiong, a Professional Trainer and one of the occupational examiners for this assessment. Besides that, he had another identity as a coach of the Battle Society at Imperial City University.

Transferred from Hua North to Hua East as an examiner, Hu Guanxiong did not expect to encounter Fang Yuan here, the young upstart who had swept through Imperial City University.

Yet Fang Yuan, that young upstart, was only a sophomore, he recalled... A sophomore attending a professional assessment... Hiss... However, what puzzled Hu Guanxiong was why Fang Yuan's registered six Pokémon did not include Sun Eevee...

Besides Hu Guanxiong, there was another person who felt quite troubled at seeing Fang Yuan's data. He was Zhou Jiakai, a Professional Trainer from the Northern Wind Dojo!

A few months ago, Zhou Jiakai, full of confidence, took his main Pokémon, Blaziken, to participate in the Fighting Tournament. However, during the tournament... Blaziken was defeated by a Monferno wielding a bone club, which had been a sore point for Zhou Jiakai. His Blaziken even suffered from heart chicken for a long while, thankfully he was almost forgetting about it... Yet...

Hu Guanxiong and Zhou Jiakai, both from the chairman's podium, looked towards Fang Yuan and realized that he was also looking at them with surprise.

Fang Yuan was stunned for a moment, then showed a kind smile.

Fate, too wonderful for words.

The Gold Examiner, a Master Level Trainer, clearly hadn't realized the severity of the situation. After glancing at Fang Yuan's information a couple of times, he posed a few questions to Fang Yuan, essentially an interview.

However, it seemed like the Gold Examiner was a traditional Trainer and wasn't willing to be petty during the interview. After Fang Yuan answered, he quickly nodded and said, "Send out the Pokémon you will be using for the assessment."

"Yes," replied Fang Yuan, taking off the Poké Ball hanging around his neck.

The next second, the adorable Eevee appeared on the ground and yawned.

The Gold Examiner: "..."

The other examiners: "..."

Looking at Fang Yuan and the Eevee beside him, the examiners exchanged glances. They knew that Fang Yuan's team had an Eevee.

Considering the Pokémon species, the Eevee and the Gengar might be the weakest in Fang Yuan's Team, especially the Eevee, which definitely was not at a professional level.

But this wasn't completely beyond redemption. As long as the other five Pokémon were strong, they could still help Fang Yuan achieve good results.

Yet, Fang Yuan chose to send out Eevee for the crucial second stage of the moves assessment, which really baffled the examiners.

"Why give up on treatment?"

Some examiners really wanted to ask this question.

The examiners looked at each other and finally, the Gold Examiner glanced at the others and said, "A general series Eevee, Examiner Zhou, should we use a Fighting attribute Pokémon for the battle assessment?"

Zhou Jiakai smiled and said, "Master Liu, I think the Pokémon of the Gold Examiner would be more suitable."

Master Liu nodded and said, "What about you, Gold Examiner?"

"I will do it," said the middle-aged man with yellow hair, known as the Gold Examiner, standing up and walking down from the podium towards Fang Yuan and Eevee. "Young man, are you serious?"

"This Eevee is at its most adorable age."

Fang Yuan looked at Eevee and hesitated, "I guess so."

The yellow-haired uncle laughed, walked to the other side of the field, and seeing this, Fang Yuan also walked to one side of the field with Eevee. There was no referee, only the other six examiners watching from the podium.

The Gold Examiner had an impassive expression and directly threw his Poké Ball. The next moment, the field shook!

Boom!

A serpent-like, giant Pokémon, about nine meters in length, appeared on the field.

Steelix!

An actual Pokémon, with a hard and massive body and fierce red eyes.

Eevee approached with a curious look in its eyes.

A false Pokémon, with its small body, soft fur, and pitiful eyes...

The Gold Examiner appeared to have no intention of going easy by using a heavyweight Steel-type Pokémon like Steelix to test a general series Pokémon like Eevee.

If Fang Yuan wasn't an examinee, the other examiners had no doubt that this Steelix, carefully trained by a Professional Trainer to have a body tougher than any metal, could turn Eevee into a mush with a casual swing of its tail, without even using a move.

But since Fang Yuan had the courage to take the professional examination... This battle might actually be quite interesting.
