Chapter 589 - Chapter 395: What are the Advantages of Pay-to-Win (Part 2)_1

In the biological lab at the Stark Building, Peter was staring blankly at a pile of hay on his desk. Connors asked him as he walked over, "What's up with you? Why have you been so distracted lately?"

"What's all this? Didn't I remind you not to bring any of that messy garbage into the lab?"

"This is not garbage; I'm working on an experiment..."

"Oh? What kind of experiment?" Connors asked, taking off his gloves. Peter looked bewilderedly at the messy hay in front of him, and said, "In a... dream, I saw some strange ingredients being used in conjunction with magic to create magical potions."

"Some potions could instantly render a person unconscious, and others could instantly cure a cold. The teachers there were saying that some potions could even bring good luck or extend a person's lifespan."

"I'm thinking, if there are ingredients and magic in reality, why can't we make such potions?"

Connors pushed up his glasses and commented, "Peter, it's good to have imagination."

As he made his way over and played with the hay Peter had put together, he continued, "But you can't expect these things to magically transform into the potions you're speaking of. Even with magic, I don't think it'll work."

"You're right, I figured that out as well. I asked Mr. Stark to use his Magic Energy Core to output power to these things, but they have shown no response whatsoever."

"Mr. Stark mentioned that magic seems to respect something called... affinity? Unless it's a special material, magic will not react with it."

Peter propped his hand on the table, resting his cheek on his palm, and said, "Looks like I oversimplified things. No matter how exciting dreams are, they are just dreams. There are too many complications when brought to the real world."

Seeing the disappointment in Peter's face, Connors walked over, sat next to him, and looked at the hay with him. He did not mock Peter, but seriously commented, "If you have such thoughts, you should think about other ways to achieve your goal, rather than blaming your own unique ideas for the lack of success."

"Just think about it, the renowned scientists when they first proposed their theories, were often seen as daydreamers and were even ridiculed. They were accused of dreaming."

"But in the end, they turned dreams into reality, shaping the human scientific world we have today. Isn't greatness often born from an idea that originally seemed impossible?"

Peter turned to look at Connors, who stood up and said, "Peter, as I said before, your genius mind can change the world more than Spider Man ever could."

"Although I often say you're much more than just Spider Man, Spider Man is also you. Peter is Spider Man, and Spider Man is Peter."

"You're willing to make all kinds of sacrifices to save the citizens of New York City, patrolling the city every day, honing your combat skills, joining the Superhero Squad, and completing various tasks..."

"If you apply this willpower towards making your ideas come true, maybe you'll make some amazing progress?"

After saying this, Connors left. Peter sat alone in front of the lab table, staring at the frail and hastily assembled hay, murmuring to himself, "Peter is Spider Man.....Spider Man is Peter…"

At noon, in the restaurant of the Stark Building, Shiller and Stark were sitting at the same table, eating. Halfway through his meal, Shiller looked up and noticed Stark staring at his plate. He asked, "What's wrong?"

Then he glanced at Stark's plate, which still had a lot of food, and asked, "Why aren't you eating yours? Why are you looking at my plate?"

Stark sighed as he looked at the messy food on Shiller's plate, he said, "What a relief. You know, when you went to get the beef patty, I was on tenterhooks."

"What's wrong with the beef patty? Because of the recent mad cow disease rumors in the West?"

"Of course not, do you remember your other personality? When he eats, he always moves round things around. Honestly, that's the only feature I can use to tell which personality is it."

"No wonder you revoked my ban on the Stark Building cafeteria..."

"Are you planning to eat all of the Stark Building's food again? I'm telling you, that's impossible. In order to prevent this from happening again, I've prepared so much food that you can't even imagine!"

Shiller cut a piece of the beef patty and took a bite. He replied, "Oh, really? I didn't plan on doing that, but now that you've said it, it piques my curiosity. Can I come here for dinner later? I'll bring Peter and the yellow-haired weasel along."

"No!" Stark immediately denied. Tapping his plate with his fork, he asked, "Honestly, what's the deal with that other personality? Who exactly is...?"

"What if I told you we're both not the main personality, what would you think?"

Stark stopped eating, his fork still held in his mouth, and remained in that position. After a while, he sighed and said, "If it was earlier, I might have been surprised. But ever since these past few nights dreaming in your Thought Palace, playing the Magic Academy game, I've started to think it's pretty normal."
