Chapter 2901 - Chapter 2076: Night of the Startled Knight (18)_1

Peter shared his suspicions with Poison Ivy and Gordon. Gordon, after some hesitation, said, "I don't really understand magic, but I do know that Batman has a few magical allies, like Mistress Prince, who's been to Gotham before."

"It's too late to go to Metropolis now." Poison Ivy shook her head, "Not to mention, Gotham Airport is shut down. Metropolis has always been unwelcoming to Gothamites, we can only hope for the best."

She sighed, then considered for a moment before speaking, "What I use isn't exactly traditional magic, it's more of a divine power. Arkham Asylum does have some super villains who can use magic, but they are elusive, hard to track."

"What about other superheroes who can use magic?"

Peter rubbed his chin, "I wish I had copied Batman's contact list. I'm afraid we'll have to make another trip to Gotham."

"Batman is looking for you!" Poison Ivy emphasized, "You said it yourself, this was Batman's original plan, and your actions have completely disrupted the situation. Do you know the consequences of being caught by Batman?"

"No, you're wrong. If he found out what I was up to, he'd realize that we're not in conflict at all. I haven't hurt anyone, and now we need each other's help."

"You're not thinking of going back to him, are you?!"

"Indeed, I am."

No sooner had Batman chased Peter out of Gotham than a new round of riots broke out in Gotham City. Simply put, Scarecrow and the Penguin had started to fight.

In the midst of Batman's pursuit of Peter in the Batmobile, he received a message from Nightwing. Scarecrow, leading his remaining henchmen, had clashed with the Penguin's leftover mobsters on Fand Island Stagg Group's airship.

Hearing gunshots on his way to the Bell Tower, Nightwing knew he had to inform Batman.

Steering the Batmobile to Fand Island, Batman spotted the Stagg Group's airship from a distance. He switched his focus to Stagg's surveillance system.

"Crane! You're the one who broke the agreement first!" The Penguin's angry voice echoed from the surveillance channel, "Don't think I don't know that you ordered that kid, Peter Parker, to get evidence from Black Mask that I've been trading with the military. From the beginning, you've intended to use this against me!"

"Stop spouting nonsense, Oswald! You bombed Gotham city, sabotaging my plan, ruining everything!!!" Scarecrow's hysterical shout followed,

"Now you want to take away Stagg, you really think I'd let your plan succeed? You've calculated everything from the start, coerced Stagg into betraying me! Damn tricky villain!"

Batman's grip on the steering wheel tightened, he was slightly confused by the dispute between the two factions.

He of course knew that the Penguin and Scarecrow had a certain degree of cooperation, and also knew that these super-villains had no loyalty, and would inevitably turn on each other.

But it seemed the matter was more complicated than that.

Once Batman realized this, he almost immediately reconnected to the Bat System, monitoring every person he could.

This included Arkham Knight, who walked the streets, an occasional appearance from Scarecrow, but also those in the Batcave, such as Nightwing and Peter Parker, as well as all the places they were temporarily or permanently stationed.

Peter Parker's secret Nightwing Base in Brude Haven did not escape Batman's eye. He immediately gathered that Peter had other motives.

He has contingency plans for everyone, including Peter. Dealing with Spider-sense is troublesome, but not impossible. As long as he prepares in advance, it won't be hard to control him.

Still, there was just too much unpredictability tonight. Perhaps the combined effects of the Joker virus and fear gas had caused some unforeseen developments. Now Peter Parker had fled and the original plan could not be executed. He had to think about what to do next.

First he had to deal with Scarecrow and the Penguin. Batman steered the Batmobile towards the airship.

Upon realizing that Batman was no longer chasing Peter Parker, Arkham Knight who was trailing behind, stopped at the edge of the roof, turned around, mentally preparing to catch Peter.

Where would this cunning kid go next? Leaving Gotham City was probably just a diversion. After a moment's thought, Arkham Knight pinpointed his target.

Arkham Knight clearly understood the disappearance of Barbara, Gordon, and Robin was no coincidence. This was likely part of Peter Parker's revenge plan. The most effective target for revenge against Batman would naturally be the Batman Family.

There was now just one remaining member of the Batman Family.

Arkham Knight returned to his base. He obviously had his own surveillance system, focusing on Batman and the members of the Batman Family.

Using his monitoring and his own deductions, Arkham Knight decided to head to the Bell Tower. He knew what type of person Nightwing was. Among all the people who disappeared, Nightwing would likely prioritize rescuing Barbara first.

To save Barbara, he must return to the Bell Tower for clues. Nightwing was probably there now.

Ten minutes later, Arkham Knight arrived at the Bell Tower, only to find it in chaos.

At the edge of a collapsed table, Arkham Knight found a strand of web. Peter Parker had again beaten him to the punch.
