Synopsis
**This story is apart of the Webnovel Spirity Awards 2024** Damian Ducan was one of the top 5 notorious criminals in the world around 1955, and the Number one in the United State of America. But now, in 1981, Mr. Ducan has been caught, and is currently residing at the USD Florence ADMAX Administrative Maximum Security Penitentiary waiting for trial. Damian Ducan is wanted in over 15 countries, for Murder, Drug distribution, Assassination, Conspiring with a Russia mafia, and other gangs, and he also has history with working for a infamous Mexican drug cartel. After Duncan had worked with the cartel, he then traveled to Korea, and did smuggling, and more assassinations, as well as help with gangs. Damian then came to the US, and formed made a Casino, called RedTears, and laid low for the remainder of his time before he got arrested. Recently, I got a tip off from a close bird of mine. that this Criminal was not all that bad. So because I'm a Reporter for criminals, or as people like to name them, "Villains" I thought I would do a few interviews. Little did I know about what tragic life I was about to unfold. I am the author, Owen Price. and this is The Autobiography of Damian Ducan. A Victim Turned Villain

Reporter Price: "Hey, it's alright if I turn the recorder on now?"

Officer Kent: "Yes, Mr. Price. But before we let you see him, there's a question I need to ask."

Price: "Alrighty, Fire away officer Kent."

 A pause.

Kent: "Why are you interviewing the most Notorious Crime lord in the world?"

Price: "Well, I was tipped off that he isn't as bad as he seems."

Kent: *scoff* "Ya right. What do you need from him? He's a messed up, crazy Lunatic bastord, with a life sentence. I don't know why he isn't on deaths row."

Note: Officer Kent is biased toward Damian Ducan. He most likely will cause problems for the interview if allowed to him to stay.

Kent: "Anyways. Rules."

 Another pause.

Price: "Well?"

Kent: "Don't go anywhere near him. Understand? You are to stay on the other side of that table. If you cross that line we might be dragging your dead body out."

Price: "Is that so, officer?"

Kent: "That's correct."

A glare.

Price: "Well officer, is that all?"

Kent: "Yip, Beside you only have one hour."

Price: "Yes sir, that's what I asked for the first session."

Steps echo in the hall. There's a knock on the interviewing cell's door.

*knock knock*

Kent: "Ducan, we are coming in."

Silence

Kent, frustrated: "Damn criminal."

Door opens. Damian Ducan sits at the end of a metal table, legs crossed, and shoulders back. The room is made of metal, with a one-way window.

Prince: "Afternoon, Mr. Ducan."

Ducan: "Afternoon, is it? Time sure flies by when you're stuck in here."

Kent mutters: "Serves you right."

Price: "Mind if I sit?" Gestures to the chair in front of Ducan.

Ducan: "Not like I can stop you. Now anyways." A smirk. He looks up toward Officer Kent, and smiles. Officer Kent gets offended. Somehow.

Kent: "Keep your hands and eyes to yourself, Damian." mutters: "you creep."

*rattle* Of chains.

Ducan: "My hands are chained, See? I can't do anything. Officer." A smirk.

Kent: "I'm warning you. Don't give me any […]."

Another smile from Damian.

Price: "Officer Kent. If you can not shut up for the time of the interview, then I will have to ask that you remove yourself."

Kent: "You want to be alone? With that bastord?"

Price: "Yes."

Damian shifts back and watches me, (Price), and Officer Kent with amusement.

Kent: "Fine. But Damian, if I see so much as a finger pointing the wrong way, then so help me."

Ducan: Made gun hands and pointed at Officer Kent, and clicked his tongue. "Got ya, Mr. Ken."

*stomp* *stomp* *stomp* *SLAM*

Silence.

Price, accompanied with a slight chuckle: "Mr. Ducan, you sure have a way with pushing buttons."

Ducan: "Only with him. I see him everyday, as he is my main guard. as I'm in here for life. Might as well as have what little fun I can."

Price: "I see."

Silence.

*...Pause...*

Note: Before I continue with the recording, there are a few things you should know first. Before I give you the background. Damian Ducan is the Number One Criminal Lord in the US. But he's also one of the top five Criminals in the world. As I had said to Officer Kent, I got a tip from a bird of mine. I am a reporter that interviews criminals, but not villains. I had no interest in Damian Ducan, until I got the tip. Mind you this is only the beginning of the story of Damian Ducan.

Now Back to the Interview.

Ducan: "So, what brings you here, simple civilian?"

Price: "I am a reporter for the WWCW. My name is Owen Price. I asked the Government if I could interview you for a book."

Ducan: An eyebrow raised. "Why are you writing a book about me? The world already knows who I am."

Price: "Well, someone in particular asked me to get your life story."

Ducan: "Who.

Price: "Someone called Danial? Do you know them?"

Note: Damian Ducan narrowed his eyes. But before, he had a shocked look. But only for a moment.

Ducan: "No. I don't know anyone by that name."

Price: "Alrighty, Well if you don't mind, can I start?"

Ducan: "It's not like I have a choice.Do I?"

Price: "True."

*scrape*

Price: " Alrighty, this will be a record interview. Here is your microphone."

Ducan: "Alrighty"

Price: "Ok, I'll start."

Note: Damian Ducan is relaxed, and nonchalant about this interview. Makes me wonder if he really is not that bad. I started the interview with false hope, hoping this would end in a few sessions.

Price: "Hello, I am Owen Price, a reporter from WWCW. The World-Wide Criminal Watch program. I am here for an interview with Damian Ducan. Mr. Ducan is a Level 1 Criminal here in the United states, as well as a Grade A criminal in the Worlds Criminal List."

Damian Ducan looks proud, but there's a hidden feeling inside.

Ducan: "Sounds like you already know me, Mr. Owen Price."

Price: " Let's say that I have a history with criminals, such as yourself."

A nod from Damian Ducan, with a hint of curiosity.

Ducan: "Have I met you before?"

*scrape* of chains as Ducan leans forwards and places his hands on the table.

Price: "Only in passing."

Ducan narrowed his eyes, looking amused.

Ducan: "Interesting. You said your name w--"

Price, Cutting off Ducan: " Alright, first question Mr. Ducan, How old are you?"

Ducan, pouting slightly: "I'll be turning forty one this year. Also your the one of the only people to cut me off like that."

Price: "And how do you like your stay here at the ADX Florence?"

Ducan: "Actually, I find it relaxing. Even that one guard is quite entertaining."

Price: "I hear they put you in Range 13, for a few months, but then moved you to the Controlled Unit. Is that true?"

Ducan: "Yes, but I like Range 13 more. Don't get me wrong, it is nice to see others beside that annoyance outside that window."

Price: "You mean officer Kent?"

Ducan: "Precisely."

Price: "I can tell he doesn't like you. Have you done anything that made him be offensive?"

Ducan: "I have done nothing, besides maybe a little talking, and pushing of buttons." He smirks.

I raised my eyebrow.

Ducan: "Honestly, I cross my heart and hope to die." He takes his finger and makes a x over his heart. "Stick a thousand needles in my eye."

Price: "…"

Note: Damian Ducan stares at me, Although I don't show it. I feel that this man is long gone. But as I go farther into the interview, questions start to pop up. 'What caused you to be so far gone, but still have a lingering hope of salvation?' 'Are you really crazy as they say, or are you just pretending?" All these and more kept me there. But because he sang that, on question trumped them all at the time.

Price: "Do you like nursery rhymes?"

Ducan: "Oh yes, I sing them all the time."

He leans forward again, and starts into a nursery rhyme from the 1700s. Mary Mary, Quite contrary.

Ducan: "Misters Mary, Quite contrary. How did your garden grow? With silver bells, and cockle shells, and two pretty maids in a row." He sings in a singsong voice. He tilts his head and stares at me. "That's one of my favorites." He pauses and looks thoughtful. "Maybe that's why Sir Kent dislikes me."

Price: "Because of you singing?"

Ducan: "Precisely, and also I like to educate him on the meanings too. But he always gets so angry after I tell him."

Price: "Educate?"

Ducan, Nodding: "Do you know the meaning behind this nursery rhyme?"

Price: "No. I do not. Please enlighten me." I fold my hands on the table.

Ducan: "Well, there are a lot of different meanings to this one, but my mother told me one, when I turned three." A pause. "But, in theory, it is about Bloody Mary. You know her?"

Price: " I do."

Ducan: " Well, My mother told me that it was about Bloody Mary, and how she hated pretty children. Hence, 'Mistress Mary.' She told me that she would take those children in the dead of night, and use them to make her garden grow."

Price: "Is that so?"

Ducan: "'precisely."

Price: "So she would force the children to work in her garden?"

A slight chuckle.

Ducan: "In a manner of speaking." Followed by a ominous grin.

Price: "Can you please elaborate."

Ducan: "Do you know a word that means 'Murderous Psychopath'?"

Price: "isn't that contrary?

Another smile.

Ducan: "Right again. Can you guess how she used the children?"

Note: At this point, Damian Ducan is playing a mind game. He has made himself crazy, but his eyes say that he's perfectly sane. In fact, I have reason to believe that he has been messing with officer Kent, to put an act on, knowing one day someone would come in and interview him.

With this evidence I have gathered from this first interview, I can concluded that. . .

Mister Damian Ducan, wasn't a psychopath.

In fact. . .

He never was.
