Kent and Price fall out of the viewing room, leaving the enraged inmate to himself.
Kent: "WHAT THE HELL? What did you do, Price?"
Price: "All I did was ask him about the rhyme he was singing early."
Kent, with exasperation: "That's Bull[...]"
Casey, along with two others were standing close by. It was George and Sara. Mr. Ducan was still screaming, and banging on the table.
Casey: "Is he ok? Was never like that."
Price: "Thats be-"
Kent, interjecting: "That's because of this Dip[...]."
George: "Hey, Kent there's no need for that language."
Kent: "But this idiot, right here, just triggered the criminal into a violent rage?"
Price: "I didn't trigger him, exactly."
Kent spun around at this and glowered at me. But my focus was elsewhere.
Price: "Sara? Are you alright?"
Everyone turned toward her, and she looked back, dazed.
Sara: "Oh me? Yes, I'm fine." she looked over at the window.
Casey: "Is it about this morning? Don't worry about what Ducan was saying, he's a goner. See?"
Sara looked down, and we twiddled her thumbs. She then turned to me.
Sara: "Price, what do you think of Mr. Ducan's song?"
Kent blew up about this
Kent: "Not this damn song again. He's just faking it! I already told you guys."
Price: "He's not entirely though, Officer Kent."
Everyone looked at me, as I watched Sara.
Casey: "What do you mean?"
Price: "I mean, he's not faking, being unstable." I turned to Kent
Kent laughs.
Kent: "Haha, now that's funny, Price. I feel like I was saying that all along."
Price: "You don't understand. I think that Damian doesn't even know that he is."
Silence
George: "What do you mean by that?"
Kent: "Yes Price, Give us more cock and bull, so we can all get killed."
Casey shot Officer Kent a dirty look.
Price: "What I'm saying is that he may have a reason why he acts like a perfectly fine person, then a raging teenager the next."
Kent: "What are you saying? What are two people? Now that-"
Sara, interrupting: "Shh. Hey, do you guys hear that?"
Everyone goes quiet besides Officer Kent
Kent: "Hear what? This Fools Damn Nutcase theory? There's nothing else."
Price: "Exactly.. There's nothing."
Officer Kent's face fell
Note: This is a turning point in Mr. Ducan's story. While we were all arguing with each other, we had failed to notice the sudden peace in Damian Ducan's holding cell.
Like he was listening to us.
Sara, moving toward his door. "I'm going to go check on him."
Kent: "Wait, don't go in?" Kent made a move to stop her, but I stopped him.
Price: "Wait Sara, Put this Microphone on."
*scratch*
Sara: "What's this for?"
Price: "So we can hear you when you go in."
Sara: "Oh, OK"
she reached for the door handle.
Price: "Sara, don't mention anything about what had happened, just tell him that I am coming in late."
Sara, confused. "Why, Mr. Price?"
Price: "I have a hunch, so we will just go with it."
Officer Kent looked at me in disbelief. Casey, and George stare at me.
Sara: "Alrighty Mr. Price."
Note: At this point I only see what Sara and Mr. Ducan were doing, but I could not hear. So this is the Original transcript.
*Creek*
Sara: "Hello? Mr. Damian?"
Ducan: "Oh, Hello Miss Sara."
Sara: "How are you doing?"
Ducan: "Quite fine, beside having a lot of boredom. Do you know when Mr. Price is coming?"
Sara: "Yes, he said he was running a bit late, but he will be here shortly."
Ducan: "Alrighty,"
Sara: "Ok, I'll be checking on others now."
*step*
Ducan: "Oh and Sara.."
Sara: "Yes?"
Ducan: "Tell Mr. Ken.. I mean Officer Kent, I am terribly sorry."
Sara: "May I ask for what?"
Ducan: "For… earlier."
Sara: "Alrighty, Mr. Ducan"
Ducan: "Oh and one more thing."
Sara: "Yes?"
Ducan: "Did I ever say, you look like my sister?"
Sara: "Your sister?"
Ducan: "Yes, you have the same hair and eyes, as she once had."
Sara: "I see, well I'll be off."
*creak*
Kent: "--e damned."
Price: "Just as I thought."
Sara hands back the microphone.
*scratch*
Price: "Thank you, Ms. Sara."
George walked over to Sara, followed by Casey.
George: "You ok?"
Casey: "What did he say?"
Sara, facing me, Price: "He said that I look like his sister, Mr. Price."
Everyone gasped. Sara didn't seem phased.
Casey: "Whoa, that's so weird."
Sara: "Mr. Price, what do you think of Mr. Ducan?"
Price: "I think that he has more to him than meets the eye, Ms. Sara." a pause. "Ok righty ill be heading back in."
Kent, quietly: "No you're not."
Us four look at Officer Kent
Price: "What do you mean?"
Kent, his face set: " I mean, I'm Not letting you go back in there."
George: "why not?"
Kent: "Do I really have to spell it out? Damian is an insane psycho. He's too unstable."
Price: "I don't think he will blow up again, Officer Kent."
Kent: "If he didn't have the chains on, you would be dead. He's a seasonal killer, Mr. Price. I can not allow you to go back in there."
Price: "But he's not though."
Kent, in exasperation: "What a load of Bull[...]! What makes you think you know him? What kind of therapist?"
Ducan: "Something of the sort."
Everyone spins around to see Damian Ducan standing in the doorway of the cell, hands crossed.
The Villain had escaped his holdings.
