Rath Gul entered his room and saw that Xen was waiting there for him. He was not surprised and sat in the wooden rocking chair by his bedroom door. Xen said nothing but walked around while examining the room.
"Hmph" said Xen as he looked around, "It always amazes me that you have a log cabin house with no windows. Do it never get hot in here?" Xen asked as the tired Rath Gul rubbed his fore head.
"It is because I have no desire to leave entrances that thieves, murders and…unwanteds can get in through." snapped Rath Gul as he eyed Xen.
The latter snorted in response and leaned against the wall. He raised his hands in defeat and crossed his arms and looked towards the ceiling.
"I didn't come to fight." said Xen.
"Then why did you come?" asked Rath Gul.
"Help." said Xen as he walked around the room leisurely. "I am here to help and in return I'd like your help. See we both have the same purpose with two different goals."
Rath Gul nodded as he rocked back and forth slowly. He closed his eyes and rested. His mana covered his body and began replenishing inside him. "Do not worry I am still listening." said Rath Gul.
"Of course you are." sarcastically said Xen, who then cleared his throat. "Any way you want to rule over all the Orges here in Emerald Forest and I want to recovery an ancient weapon from landing in the wrong hands. Both are in the hands of the current Orge king, Krim the Butcher.
So I need you and you need me. Now before that we need away to defeat the man who left with Nork."
"Tru, that is his name." retorted Rath Gul who was becoming displeased by Xen's explanation. "I should have killed him and Nork then this would be an issue. Now I HAVE TO FIGHT HIM FOR A SPOT I RIGHTFULLY EARNED BECAUSE OF YOU!!"
He opened his eyes and slammed his hand on the arm of the chair breaking it. His orange mana cloaked his body and slight glow came from the runes on his body. He stood up over Xen who didn't move but yet stared back at him.
Xen walked away raising his hands in surrender. He retook his place upon the wall and leaned back. "If you believe you can kill him, be my guest." said Xen.
"Hmph." snorted Rath Gul "I will, and I shall succeed. He is nothing before me and besides he hasnt seen my full power. No matter what tricks he will pull he and Nork shall die by my hand. I shall be training if you need me."
Rath Gul walked away when Xen appeared in front of him blocking his path. "I'll tell you this and leave you be. You are only half of an Ancient Race, he is a full blooded Ancient race an Ifrit's at that. So no you won't be able to kill him."
Rage consumed Rath Gul's face and he gritted his teeth. "Then what do you suggest?" asked Rath Gul.
"Beat him into submission and have him work for you." said Xen. "You need to replace teo of your guards now that Nork has turned. Only Gulu is left and you will need more than me and him to defeat Krim. Think on it."
Rath Gul snorted but knew that Xen made sense. He said nothing and left the home when he saw Gulu outside.
"Lord Rath." said Gulu "I secured the prisoners in the mine camp. Though there is more."
"That is fine. Follow me on the way to Eagle Gold, I must train before Tru returns." said Rath Gul.
Gulu nodded and began to follow Rath Gul. They walked through the streets of the town as it was busy with life. There were Orges of every size no matter what they be, guard, worker or street urchin.
"Now what more is it?" asked Rath Gul as they approached Eagle Gold.
"It is the last captive, Lord Rath, he is still caged up at the entrance of Eagle Gold. Perhaps it is better for you to see him yourself." replied Gulu who looked nervous as well as excited.
"Hmph it better be worth it for my last guard to bring it to my attention." snorted Rath Gul who could no longer hide his displeasure at the on going events.
"Of course Lord Rath, he is there" said Gulu as they approached the cage. Inside the cage fast asleep was Gorlo. Rath Gul's eyes widen when he saw that the large tan being was an orge like him. Nonetheless he also had gold runes along his body just as he did.
"Take him from the cage and bring him to me in the feasting hall. I believe I may have found myself another guard member." said Rath Gul who then entered the hall himself.
Gulu nodded and opened the cage and walked in carrying Gorlo who was snoring loud and clear. He entered the hall and saw Rath Gul covered in a bright orange mana as he repeatedly conjured up Rock Pillars. He was training his mana control as of now it was poor and needed work.
He did this repeatedly until his mana aura was weak and dim. He then sat and rested and replenished his mana and did it over again. Gulu said nothing and sat Gorlo down on one of the tables before leaving.
Rath Gul continued his training until he was out of stamina and weak. He looked and saw that Gorlo was still sleeping and grabbed a bucket of water. He splashed on the sleeping tan orge and jolted him awake.
"GORLO IS UP! GORLO WAS NOT SLEEPING! I SWEAR!" yelled Gorlo as he rubbed his face. Once his vision came too he saw that he was no longer in the Gob village but in a large hall with tables. He then saw Rath Gul who was standing by him with an empty bucket.
Gorlo jumped up and his orange mana flared as a serious expression planted firmly in his face. "Who are you? Gorlo will not ask a second time." said Gorlo as he walked to Rath Gul.
The latter smiled and took a seat at the table and gestured for Gorlo go take one also. Gorlo was skeptical but sat down in the chair but did not release his mana aura. He eyed Rath Gul, watching his every move.
"I am Rath Gul, lord of Eagle Gold." explained Rath Gul.
"Ok but Gorlo doesn't understand why he is here, and where are the Gobs? Where is Sor?" questioned Gorlo, his aura flared with each question as he feared for Rath Gul's answer.
"Hahaha please do not worry they are all safe even that snake Sor is alive and well." said Rath Gul. The words leaving his lips brought an ease to Gorlo as his mana aura disappeared.
Rath Gul let out a deep sigh of relief as he saw Gorlo's mana aura vanish. "You are only here because Sor promised me a work force to mine the rich abundance of iron ore we have. You were not someone that he explained to be apart of that work force." said Rath Gul.
Gorlo's expression went dark as he stared at Rath Gul. "And what did you promise him in return? Gorlo would love to know what caused him to betray his own kind and me his brother!" asked Gorlo.
Rath Gul sucked his teeth and grabbed another bucket of water and drank fro mid. After he had drained it of its content she wiped his mouth and crushed it.
"I didn't offer him anything he just wanted to become the king as he felt he rightful should. Though he may be 'king' he is nothing more than a hated task master. He has no support from me." answered Rath Gul.
"Gorlo is confused, why is that?" questioned Gorlo as he eyed Rath Gul.
"Because I like traitors but I am not a big fan of treason" snappily replied Rath Gul. He tapped on the table lightly before standing up. He stood over Gorlo who in turn stood up and Rath Gul saw they were evenly matched in height.
"I will not beat around the bush but I want you to join me. Join me and become one of my guards." said Rath Gul. Gorlo was shocked at his question but did not answer.
Rath Gul saw the distrust on Gorlo's face and knew he needed to win him over. "Join me and you'll live almost like a king here. You'll have title, land, food and even women should you desire it. Though I need you on my side, brother." said Rath Gul as he looked Gorlo in his eyes.
"Why me?" asked Gorlo when didn't fully believe Rath Gul was being genuine. Rath Gul smiled and the gold runes across his body lit up.
"That is because like me, brother, you are half giant."
