"Why did you give the clerk so much Zil?" asked Wrath.
"I don't know, maybe I'm just thinking about all of this in the long run. Besides I'll get some more, I'm sure of it." answered Tru.
"Hmph in that case give me fifteen thousand Zil!" shouted Wrath sounding like an excited child.
Tru chuckled but ignored her question and laid down in the bed in his room. He summoned Shadow and it made itself comfortable on the bed also.
He held Blasphemy up in the air as he examined it. The red gauntlet shined as the moon broke through the window. Tru admired it before laying it on his chest and stared at the ceiling. He felt his heart beat slow but steady.
"Hey Wrath, I have a question." said Tru breaking the brief silence.
"What is it?" answered Wrath.
"If I became an Ifrit and I'm now made up of mana how come I still have a beating heart?" asked Tru as his heart pounded in his chest never breaking rhythm.
"I don't know. I just used a forbidden spell and changed you, besides The One Within Us works in strange ways. I would not question it too much, you know gift horse and all that nonsense." replied Wrath.
"The One Within Us? Didn't take you much of a follower of the olds Gods. Thee Sin of Wrath a believer in faith hahahaha it's quite funny." jokingly said Tru.
"Tsk you know nothing boy, especially when it comes to me! All the Ancient races follow the old gods, who wouldn't follow their creator! The Dragons had Daconis Drakeo, the dwarves worshipped Greystone, the Angels followed the Winged M blindly.
Then there was us, the Ifrit's we worshipped our god, well more of a father to us than the other gods were to their creations. The One Within Us." said Wrath her voice growing soft and quiet.
Tru said nothing but turned over and closed his eyes falling asleep. Wrath sat in silence with Tru's Soul Space. She looked upward into the darkness, trying to find comfort in the silence.
'Father , why have you abandoned us?' Wrath said in her heart. She wondered deeply but was interrupted by the loud snoring of Tru.
"Ugh my last hope is just pitiful!" said Wrath utterly disgusted.
The night passed by quickly leaving the sun to break through the window and shine on Tru's face waking him up. He yawned and stretched before doing his morning routine. After he was washed up he dressed and headed down to the lobby to get breakfast.
"Good Morning sir, I trust you slept well?" asked the Clerk.
"Yeah I did thanks for asking. Now my question for you is, am I able to get food here, or no?" asked Tru as his stomach grumbled.
"Of course sir just have a seat any where you like in the tavern and the waitress will help you." replied the Clerk with a massive smile.
Tru returned the smile when suddenly he was grabbed by the clerk, stopping him in his tracks.
"My apologies" said the clerk. "There is one other thing. The little girl brown haired girl is also looking for you I told her to wait there in case you came down."
Tru could see the look of disgust and contempt from the clerks delievery but said nothing and walked inside the tavern. It wasn't worn down but the room needed a few repairs.
There was a small bar in the center and few tables with wooden stools surrounding it. There were very few guests and the ones that was here looked rough around the edges. He scanned the room till he saw Marslia sitting at a table in the corner. He pulled up a seat across from her before sitting down.
"Morning!" said Marslia with a bright smile. Her clothes looked in better shape than the ones she wore last night, she also looked cleaner and hair brushed.
"Morning, I see you are up early this morning. Have you eaten?" asked Tru.
Marslia shook her head as the waitress approached the table. "Hi can I get you anything?" asked the waitress with a bright smile.
"Yes I'll take two Boar steaks and eggs for me and my…'friend' here." said Trhu prompting the waitress to walk away. Momentarily she came back with two full hot plates of food.
Marslia wasted no time and began scarfing down her food, even faster than Tru was. "The little vermin has an appetite" said Wrath.
'Oh leave the child be, I'm sure it's been who knows when since she had a good meal." retorted Tru. "Plus she just the key to getting to her father, the smith. I need a new weapon and someone that can fix Blasphemy if it gets broken.'
'IF?!' said Wrath. 'IF?! You do know Ancient Viltrum weapons are the strongest things in existence. Even the Old Gods use them. There's no IF if it breaks because it won't!
Damn you really know nothing." snorted Wrath as she huffed angrily. Tru didn't reply but shrugged his shoulders and continued eating. He finished his food just moments after Marslia. He left the money in the table and walked out of the inn with his companion in tow.
Marslia skipped behind Tru as they walked through town. The inhabitants of Vinswill all looks upon Truc horror, disgust and even fear. The staring and whispering caused him to pull up his hood as he continued on his way.
"Fools! If they knew who or what you were I assure you they would cower with fear! He'll they might have even given you this town for your own." exclaimed Wrath.
"Oh even more fear than they have now?" said Tru as he rolled his eyes. He looked down and met the eyes of Marslia who stared at him with a strange face.
"What is it?" asked Trucas he angrily gritted his teeth. Marslia looked at him in silence before grabbing his hand.
"NO! Don't let her touch you! You're made of Pyro Mana and will burn her especially as she has no mana to protect herself.
'Ah shit.' Tru thought to himself as he grabbed her hand away and looked at her palm. Though to his surprise it was fine and white and snow and not burnt. He looked down and saw that Marslia was on the verge of tears.
She snatched her hand away and her eyes swelled with water. "If you didn't want to hold hands you could have said that you big meanie!" yelled Marslia as the tears fell.
Her outburst caused even more people to stare and murmur at the two of them.
"Did you see that? He grabbed that child like a wild animal!"
"I wonder what's wrong with his ski!, is it contagious?"
"I hope not, best keep your distance just to be sure."
Tru ignored the murmurs and slander and bent down to Marslia. He patted her head and took her hand and stood up. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you it just took me by surprise. Would you like to hold my hand the rest of the way to your dad's smithy?"
Marslia wiped her face and nodded shyly as her and Tru continued toward the smithy. The walked for a bit when Tru felt Marslia tug at his sleeve.
"I don't want to be mean but how come your skin is red? Did something happen to you?" asked Marslia with large curious eyes.
"Haha well" chuckled Tru nervously "You see have a rare disease called Sunfyre Touch that makes my skin red."
"Hmm" said Marslia "Doesnit also make you warm cause you are warm and nice to be around." Tru just chuckled and kept walking.
"Why did you lie to the girl? Are you ashamed because of what those people might say?" asked Wrath.
"No." abruptly replied Tru "More or less what she might say to them. If word gets out that I'm a ancient race let alone a demon it could cause problems for her. So better to be safe than sorry."
"Hmph" snorted Wrath but resumed her silence as the smithy came into view. It had a sign that said Vinswill Smithy that was handing by a thread.
The building was old and wore out and need of repair. There were various helmets, weapons and pieces of armors all piled in the front of the shop. He could see smoke come from the chimney signaling someone was inside.
Marslia ran inside yelling "Daddy daddy" as Tru walked through doors. The entire place was cluttered with papers, materials and broken items. It was a mess all but the smithing area where he saw Marslia standing next to a man sitting on a chair.
"Daddy look see! I told you I'd bring the red man from last night that gave me all that Zil!" exclaimed Marslia. The man gave her a big hug before standing up and walking towards Tru.
"So you must be the big bastard that wants to help me out, aye?"
