Once there was a little boy, his name was Mike. Mike and his dad used to drive past the local graveyard in the car, but one day Mike got out of the car to go touch one of the tombstones and he was shocked because it came alive! The tombstone had a face and a voice, and it said, "Hello, Mike. I've been waiting for you." Mike was scared and ran back to the car, but his dad was gone. Instead, he saw another tombstone in the driver's seat, with his dad's name on it. Mike screamed and the graveyard laughed.
Mike ran away from the car, looking for help. He saw a house nearby and knocked on the door. A woman opened it and smiled at him. "Hello, Mike. I've been expecting you." She said. Mike recognized her as his mom, who had died when he was a baby. He was confused and terrified. "Mom?" He asked. "Yes, Mike. It's me. Come inside, I have something to show you." She said, grabbing his hand and pulling him into the house.
Mike followed her, hoping she would explain everything. She led him to a room where there was a big mirror on the wall. She stood in front of it and said, "Look, Mike. This is your family." Mike looked at the mirror and saw his mom, his dad, and himself. But they were all tombstones, with their names and dates on them. Mike realized he was dead too, and he had been all along. He had just forgotten. He started to cry and his mom hugged him. "Don't be sad, Mike. We're happy here. We're together. Forever." She said, as the mirror turned into a door and they walked through it, leaving the world behind.
