"I'm so scared, Sarah."
My eyes leave the road for a second to take a glimpse at Chloe's face. Her brows are knitted in concern, while her baby girl is sleeping so peacefully in her arms. If only she knew that her life is about to take a drastic turn.
"Don't worry. Like I told you back home, this is just a phase, it will pass."
"This is one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. I have never seen him so cold towards us."
One of my hands releases the steering wheel to massage Chloe's legs in support.
"It is going to be fine," I assure her again.
"Yeah, that is what you keep saying like you know what will be the turn of events. But you are not sure, we don't know what that result would say."
We go through the rest of the ride to the hospital in silence. While Chloe's situation has distracted me from my own problems, it still hasn't left my mind that I still have a very tough decision to make about my life.
