"Sarah…"
I can hear someone calling my name. The voice sounds so familiar. I know who owns it, but I am too exhausted to let my brain link whose voice it is.
I turn to the other side and continue my sleep.
"Sarah…"
I hear footsteps shuffle into the room, "Oh Ms, you're awake!"
Awake? Who is awake? Where am I and why does this place smell like it is covered in antiseptic?
"Please wake my daughter up for me." I hear that voice say again.
My daughter. The antiseptic odour. I am lying in a sleeping bag in the hospital room my mom is admitted to.
I jolt up, "Mom!"
"Sarah…" the corners of her eyes twinkle as she smiles back at me.
I rush to where she is still lying down and wrap my arms around hers in a hug, "Oh mom…"
"Hey, easy with the hug, miss. You don't want to send her back to a coma, do you?" the nurse warns amusingly.
"Mom! I can't believe you're now awake. How are you doing?"
