Chapter 23 - Choosing An Element

"Choose an element?" Yu Sheng was startled when he saw this message. Soon three orbs appear before him. The colors black, red and orange floating beside him.

"Destruction, Blood and Fire." Yu Sheng reach out his hand and touch the black orb and a description of what it could do came up in his mind space.

Destruction : Destroys anything and everything it touches, has the ability to reverse time of an object and speed up time of the living.

"This... its that overpower?!" Excited, Yu Sheng touched the other two orbs.

Blood : No other blood can disobey your rule. Consume rich blood to have a higher chance of becoming an Eternal Expert (Recommend)

Fire : Burns.

Seeing the descriptions for the fire element Yu Sheng rolled his eyes. "Seriously? Couldn't you think of a better descriptions?"

"Hmm, but the system is recommending the element blood. Is it because it gives me a higher chance of becoming an Eternal Expert?" Yu Sheng questions while rubbing his hair, "The Eternal System goal is to make me an Eternal Expert afterall."

"And if consuming blood can allow me to increase my strength then why not." Touching the red orb again, it began spinning around as if excited. The orb suddenly flew towards Yu Sheng head as if it intending to blow a hole right through it.

"Woah!" Too slow to move out the way, Yu Sheng cried out. The orb quickly reach his head in mere seconds, but stop right above his forehead already covered in sweat.

[Warning! Using the element blood will consider yourself as an enemy of the entire world excluding the Yinyue Race and Human Race!]

"What..." Confused, Yu Sheng realize he was sitting butt first on the floor.

"That scared me for a second." Getting up, he stretched his limbs before turning to the sudden notification.

"Why would you recommend me the element blood then tell me later its dangerous. What a strange system..."

"Why are you warning me?" He blurted, not expecting an answer.

[The element blood is a symbol of the Eternal Blood, Xue Wang. Only he and his descendants, The Blood Race who are locked up in the Red Lake Prison are able to control blood]

[If anyone were to find out that you are able to control blood you will be hunted down by Domain Rulers and The Eternal Unknown.]

Stunned that the system actually responded Yu Sheng asked, "Wait didn't you tell me he was the Human race Eternal Expert? What is all this about the Blood race..."

[The Blood Race was created from the stored up blood in the Red Lake Prison. They are humans who took a sip of that blood. People who lost their physical form to contain the Eternal Blood inside them. From what I heard, those who consume this blood has a high chance of becoming what is known as B-Crazed, insane individuals who only seek blood.]

"What the hell. If there's such a high chance of becoming this Bee-Crazy or whatever, why would they still do it?"

[Because those who are able to contain their desires for blood become highly dangerous monsters. They are able to keep their human form, intelligence and gain immense power.]

[Not only that, but they gain immortality. If they were ever set free they would be equivalent to the strength of the Central Domain people.]

"That strong..." Reminded of the masked girl, Yu Sheng whispered.

"Then what will happen if I take this orb? Will I have a chance of becoming Bee-Crazy too?" He suddenly asked.

[Correction: B-Crazed and no, this orb isn't created from The Eternal Blood, Xue Wang. It is created through the music you played not too long ago.]

[You are the creator of this orb. It is your own piece of art.]

"Say less!" Excited, Yu Sheng embraced the orb.

[Eternal Melody activated]

A pair of colourless headphones appear on his head. The orb then flew into the headphones, turning into a liquid state.

The orb spread around the headphones until it was dyed fully in red.

"What the hell..." Yu Sheng tried taking off these headphones, but they were glued to his head!

"Get this thing off me!" Refusing to give up, he continued struggling to get the headphone off.

All of a sudden, the song he just finish playing began renouncing in his ears. His black eyes glow red once again and a power he never felt before shook his body.

[Crimson Night]

[Passive: Consume blood to gain a burst of power.]

"God damn!" Yu Sheng cried out. His eyes flashing with excitement. He could feel his blood boiling, yearning for something exciting to happen.

"Is this what the system meant by only being able to show one emotion?! I can't control my urges!" He yelled, the power inside of him was so immense for him that he couldn't even control himself from smashing his fist into the wall next to him.

"This is going to hurt!" Crying out, he closed his eyes expecting unbearable pain, but what he expected didn't happen.

Opening back his eyes the first thing he saw was the skin of his wrist opened. Blood pouring out, forming a ring of blood around his wrist.

What he saw next made his eyes bulge out of his socket. The wall before him caved in, spider like cracks covering the entire wall. It looked like once more hit with his fist would shatter the wall completely.

What was even more shocking was that his hand was totally fine. Even the loss of blood that kept dripping out of his hand wasn't a problem as the blood seem to turn into a gaseous state, entering the headphones on his head.

"What the hell..." At this point, Yu Sheng was at a loss of words. The power known as Eternal Melody completely spooked him. "Who could imagine just playing a song could create such devastating power..."

"What would happen if I create more!" This power didn't stop his blood to continue boiling as his face was fully red, unable to hide his excitement.

"But will this power be able to stop those robed men?" Coming back to reality, he wondered. The fact that he had no idea who those robed men were made him uneased.

From what he saw while looking through the previous owner memories, the human race follows a cultivation system just like every other race.

However unlike races like the Elf Race that cultivate by creating higher magic, the Yinyue Race that cultivates by making music or the Dragon Race that cultivates by eating one another, The Human race cultivates by mediating base off a scripture that has been studied and broken into different parts.

The first scripture would be the Beginning Stage known as the Kai Stage.

The second scripture would be the Medium Stage known as Zhong Stage.

The third scripture is the High Stage known as Gao.

The fourth scripture is the Advance Stages known as Xian.

And so on.

Furthermore, each stage consist of nine levels that you would need to go through to be able to advance to the next stage.

The only problem really is getting your hand on the scriptures since without them you are unable to cultivate no matter how high ones talent is.

In Xu Wantian case, because of how trash his talent is he was not given any scriptures to cultivate with.

So he isn't even at the first level of the Kai Stage.

"From Xu Wantian memories I recall the scriptures being very expensive, the first one costing over a million BCD so if I were to guess those two are probably in the Kai Stage." Yu Sheng thought.

"This might be a problem depending on what level their at." Rubbing his head in frustration Yu Sheng thought.

The last thing Xu Wantian recalled before dying was being knockout. He didn't even see who was the culprit before his vision fade away.

"This means none cultivators are unable to sense a cultivator presence, what a pain."

Looking back on the cracked wall Yu Sheng though, "I guess the only thing I can do now is continue practising this power and hope those robed men really think I am dead."

.....

Five hours later, Yu Sheng lay on the ground covered in his own sweat.

It was still night outside. However, the phenomenon caused by the crimson moon seized a couple hours ago as people began regaining their senses.

Surprisingly, no one was affected in the human race. Maybe its because their mental resistance was strong or maybe it was a blessing from the gods? No one knows.

In those five hours Yu Sheng only goal was to make this body sturdy enough so that if he were to get sneak attacked by the robed men, this body wouldn't simply be knocked out.

He also tried learning how to use his power, but couldn't come up with anything that would consume too much blood.

During those five hours he tried making a sword out of blood, but when it began forming he became dizzy and fell unconscious.

"I guess there's not enough blood stored in this body to make anything too big." He also tried making smaller objects like blood bullets or a blood ball, but even creating one of those would cause him to feel nauseous.

So all he could do during that time was strengthen the ring that he likes to call Red Spiral.

"It's a bad name, but it's not like I am good at naming things anyways." Yu Sheng grumbled to himself, reminded of all the times people in his past told him his naming sense is horrible.

Furthermore, he noticed that there was a limit to how long he could use his powers. A duration he likes to call it that last until the song playing through the headphones finish.

"The song last a total of three minutes and forty-five seconds." Yu Sheng recalled while closing his eyes, mesmerizing this time limit in case of emergencies.

"I guessed those people from the Xu Clan didn't come to check up on me. Strange.. Although the previous host was trash wouldn't they find it suspicious if he were to be gone for too long?" Looking around, Yu Sheng tried finding the presence of anyone. It has already been a week, yet no one came to find him.

"Man, not even his subordinates came to look for him, poor fella." Shaking his head Yu Sheng got up, preparing to leave this small room.

"I didn't come to this place to waste time idling about. Time to get to work." Stretching his tired limbs his expression became serious.

Putting his hand on the door knob to open it, he suddenly paused and look at himself in a mirror nearby.

His messy hair, his baggy eyes, his pale face, slouched back and messy clothes covered in his own blood.

"Man my current appearance looks horrible. My mother would never let me go out looking like this!" Reminded of his past mother Yu Sheng quickly went to the bathroom close by and wash himself off.

When he came out he looked back into the mirror and said, "Much better."

"But these clothes are still covered in dry blood..." Looking down on his clothes and smelling the stench filled with blood, Yu Sheng was immediately disgusted. Even in his past he didn't have to deal with blood that much even with the things that he did.

"I guess I will have to soon get use to this." Sighing Yu Sheng opened the door and walked outside.

In front of him were yellow tapes writing 'caution' and there were a bunch of people next of people there.

And when he said a bunch he meant it. There were reports, cameramen, police officers, investigators, you name it.

When the door opened, all eyes immediately turn towards him. Yu Sheng could see shock and disbelief covered on their faces.

For a long time there was only silence. Yu Sheng just stood there, frozen in place and the people before him also followed.

"Umm." Yu Sheng made a silent sound to himself, but for how quiet the place became everyone heard it.

Summoning the Eternal Melody, Yu Sheng created a a guitar and said, "Did you guys come for my 26th concert or what..."
