Chereads / The Strongest Primordial Werewolf / Chapter 39 - Slade's Test

Chapter 39 - Slade's Test

Walking past Sebastian, the boy had already formed a crystalline sword and was ready to strike the boy across his chest.

'Of course I had to be put with the most irritating people' Sebastian thought.

Before the boy could strike the other boy, Sebastian appeared between them and used some of the world's energy and pushed them back. The force behind the attack had sent them flying through the air and surprised the outsiders.

"Listen up, maggots! While you're in my presence, you can't be fighting, disturbing my peace, or causing a ruckus!" Sebastian commanded them.

The arrogant boy stood up and stared at Sebastian with anger as he spoke. "My name is Cedric Veridian and I ask, who says you can tell me what to do?! I'm a noble and you peasants are to listen to my commands!" The boy denied Sebastian's command.

Looking at the boy, his hair was jet-black, which was groomed to perfection. His eyes were emerald-green and sharp as they exuded a sense of entitlement. His embroidered robes reflect his noble status and are adorned with a family crest, and carry an air of superiority.

On the other side of Sebastian, he stared him up and down. The boy had silver-blue hair and piercing gray eyes. On his uniform were intricate cloud patterns.

"And my name is Kael Stormbringer! The king of lightning!" Kael refused Cedric's words.

Another vein popped on Sebastian's head as he had to deal with an arrogant noble and a hothead wannabe king.

Bang!

Sebastian appeared by both of them and struck their heads while pulling them together. He pushed them toward the ground and stared at them intently. Both noticed his superior strength and speed, and a single thought both crossed their mind.

"Can you teach us how to be as strong as you!?" Both asked in unison.

They then looked at each other angrily and looked like they were about to fight like two cats when they first met.

"Oi! Didn't I say no fighting in my presence!" Sebastian shouted.

It didn't take long for them to get straightened out but outside their room there was already a crowd forming and watching.

"What are you looking at?!" He asked aggressively.

The crowd immediately dispersed and only one person remained. Staring toward them, she slowly approached Sebastian and once she was within range, she released a combination of lightning magic and crystal magic toward him.

Expecting it to be weak, Sebastian stuck his finger up and waited for the attack. As the attack struck, it pierced through Sebastian's finger and shoulder.

'What! That was stronger than I thought!' Sebastian panicked.

While Sebastian stood still, the girl walked toward Cedric and cradled him into her chest. Embarrassed, Cedric tried to push her away but didn't have the strength to do so.

"If anyone tries to hurt you again, tell me. I'll get rid of them." She said, glaring toward Sebastian.

She then walked out of the room and left everyone staring at her beauty. Sebastian thought she couldn't be much older than him as her power was lacking. Her beauty even rivaled Chelsea's beauty, Sebastian thought.

"Who was that beauty?" Kael asked.

"Excuse me?! Are you trying to hit on my sister?!" Cedric shouted at Kael.

"Your sister? Why hello there brother-in-law" Kael joked.

Cedric attempted to hit Kael but was stopped by hand. Immediately, Cedric pulled his hand back and smiled toward Sebastian.

'What the hell kind of magic is that? I thought siblings were supposed to have the same magic or something related to it.' Sebastian thought.

He noticed the shift mana particles around as she was using her magic. It wasn't weird for mana particles to go towards an individual as they were replenishing their mana but hers was different. She was pulling mana particles from both Cedric and Kael.

He thought it was maybe a copying ability but those had limitations such as needing to touch somebody. There was a family that had a copying ability but they chose to stay hidden in the shadows and even Ragnar and Bastian were adamant about leaving them be.

Back to the girl, Sebastian wanted to get to know her but he thought it would look like he was hitting on her so he figured Cedric would give him the information.

"Cedric, what's your sister's name?" Sebastian asked.

"M-My sister? Why would you lik… Her name is Aurielle Veridian. She's only two years older than us and is protective of me and our younger sister." Cedric was reluctant to answer his question.

Hearing her name, Sebastian remembered a family by that name but couldn't remember if they were important or not.

With nothing to do, Sebastian sat with his leg crossed on his bed and began to meditate. He found mediation made forming aura crystals and energy crystals easier. His body was relaxed, his surroundings were silent and his mind was calm.

It wasn't until he heard a bell ring, did he open his eyes and realize it was the next day already. Normally he would've realized it but he didn't think his aura reserves were that deep. He managed to form three aura crystals for each of his auras and his energy crystals were also at three crystals.

'Combat Training… Considering my expertise in combat, I hope he'll teach me a few advanced or expert techniques.'

Following the strong energy, he managed to find Slade's classroom again and was told to wait for the other students to arrive.

"May I ask what we'll be learning today?" Sebastian asked.

Ignoring Sebastian, he continued to mediate. Sebastian then proceeded to walk up to a wall and inspect Slade's weapons. He found them unique and wanted to wield one of them but he knew they would try to possess his body.

Looking back and forth between Slade and the weapon case, he placed his hand on the glass and began to push against it hard.

Shing!

In an instant, Slade appeared by his side with his sword pointed at his neck. His eyes were still closed and seemed to be still meditating.

"I would advise against trying to steal his weapon." A mysterious man came out of the shadows.

"Who are you?" Sebastian asked.

"I'm one of three headmasters of this fine establishment. We're also the ones responsible for releasing killing intent on you." The man revealed.

Processing his words, he noticed Slade started to move and sat back down in the middle of the room. He didn't even hear Slade when he moved and didn't even sense the man in the room

"Whelp, you could've asked me questions but it seems like the others have found the room."

A black portal appeared below the man and slowly he was sinking until he was fully submerged. At the same time, the door opened and multiple people started to pour in.

Sighing, Slade stood up while finally noticing Sebastian was beside him.

"Listen up! I want you to get in a single-file line from the highest ranked to the lowest ranked!"

Upon hearing his words, everyone rushed into a single-file line and stood straight. It was obvious from the way he talked that he was familiar with the way the military taught their soldiers.

"I see our academy has finally attracted everyone's attention. After four years, we finally were able to open the middle grade. For today's lesson, we'll be testing everyone's strengths and weaknesses.

Your objective will be whoever can defeat the most opponents."

An arena formed around everyone and a girl immediately moved in to strike. The victim, surprised, turned into white particles before appearing outside the arena.

"My magic is sustaining the arena so you can let loose every ability you have."

Upon hearing his words, everyone suddenly started to cast their spells toward one another. There were a few explosions here and there but a couple of students stood out to Slade.

A girl with silver-streaked auburn hair and indigo eyes kept swinging around a special lance. It was obvious that the weapon was made of a special metal and imbued with a powerful magic. Each swing or thrust would send out waves of different magic types.

Another person would be a boy with silver-blue hair and that was Kael. Equipped with his enhanced lightning spear, it would pierce through his opponents without much resistance.

There were a couple more but their magic was basic yet destructive. Out of all the people, Slade noticed Sebastian hadn't made a move yet and even the eliminated ones noticed. They thought he was being a coward and waiting for everyone to tire out and win but Slade knew why.

If Sebastian was able to withstand one of his Full Weapon Releases, then he was powerful in his own right but he didn't know exactly how powerful. A few minutes passed and nearly everyone was eliminated. The main stars of the arena were still present and their intense gazes were fixated on one another.

"How about we attack that boy there before we battle each other? He hasn't even moved from his position." A boy suggested.

Noticing Sebastian as well, everyone was in an agreement. They slowly approached him and he realized this.

'I don't really know how to hold back on this attack as it's hard to control but let's hope this isn't too powerful.'

A katana appeared by his side and immediately everyone charged toward him. Before they could comprehend, Sebastian was behind all of them and a bright light lit up the room. Slade noticed that Sebastian only moved straight and saw him swing his blade only once.

Blood could be seen dripping from Sebastian's nose and the power of the blade was still too much for him to handle. One of the katana's abilities is to empower the wielder and the other ability was a swift and precise slash.

'Too much power!'

Putting his katana into its sheath, their bodies slowly slid diagonally as they turned to bright particles. The barrier that held everyone also shattered from the power being released and surprised Slade. Although it was a weak barrier technique, it should have been able to withstand anything below Beginner E-Rank.

'Impressive! I knew this boy was special! I wonder if he'll allow him to join.'

"He cheated! There's no way a person can be able to do that!" A noble complained.

"Yeah! He must've cheated! There's no way someone has that power at that age!" Another complained

Complaint after complaint, Sebastian thought about doing something but decided against it. If they were to fight in the future, he at least wanted to keep some of his techniques hidden.

'That should be impossible… I didn't even see him use magic.' Aurielle Veridian thought.

Walking toward a seat, Sebastian sat down and observed everyone's reactions. Although the abilities he showed with the katana were powerful, he couldn't hold back. Whatever the dwarves did with the blade, it clearly was hard for Sebastian to control.

If two of the abilities on the blade were this destructive even with a limiter, Sebastian couldn't help but think about when the limiter would be removed.

"Alright! I got to see everyone's strengths and weaknesses. The few that managed to stay standing after nearly everyone was eliminated, will be taught better techniques. Sebastian, I must thank you for not using your technique at the start, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to gauge their abilities."

Walking over to a wall, he pressed his hand against it and multiple weapons appeared. Instructing everyone to grab a weapon, Slade kept an eye on Sebastian. He thought if Sebastian was smart enough, he would try and use multiple weapons.

Unbeknownst to him, Sebastian was already carrying an entire arsenal of weapons and deadly ones at that. Unexpectedly, a girl approached Sebastian and threw a swift attack toward his head.

Reacting, he pulled his sword up and slightly pulled it out of its sheath. The moment her fist collided with the sheath and blade part, a strong force repelled her attack and slammed her into a wall.
