Chapter 200 - Savage Bull Shadow, Evolving Again

Under the constraints of the ancient laws, Eddie could only observe and couldn't directly participate in the battle against the white bull.

Even with his Level 4 Eye of Wisdom, he couldn't fully comprehend the bull's strength, but he sensed it was at least as powerful as the three Chimeras he had faced before.

Little Wenli, transformed into a rainbow light, circled around Eddie. Although he couldn't attack, his quick reflexes and speed were still a great asset.

With his support, little Wenli's combat ability was enhanced. The bull's intelligent eyes gradually filled with killing intent.

As the bull glared, a terrifying wave of mental energy surged towards them. Any other battle beast would have fled in fear, but little Wenli remained calm, reaching out to Eddie to lead her upwards.

Eddie summoned his grimoire and activated a shield just in time to block the mental attack.

Then, he released little Wenli, allowing her to swiftly dive towards the white bull from above.

The bull's weakness was at the top of its back, a blind spot beyond the reach of its eyes.

The closer to the spine, the larger the blind spot, especially if attacking from above.

Little Wenli gracefully maneuvered in mid-air, constantly adjusting her trajectory to avoid the bull's gaze. Close combat seemed to be the bull's weakness.

Eddie, with growing experience in combat, made tactical decisions, trusting little Wenli's remarkable reflexes and adaptability.

He was confident she could defeat the white bull, just as she had defeated the three Chimeras.

Surprisingly, the white bull suddenly stood on its hind legs, eliminating its blind spot.

Its eyes fixed on little Wenli as it unleashed another mental energy storm.

In an instant, Eddie teleported behind little Wenli, grabbing her and vanishing just as the mental wave hit.

He had learned this teleportation technique from the Purple Gold Marquis, which consumed a significant amount of innate energy and was rarely used.

But in this critical situation, Eddie swiftly rescued little Wenli.

Though little Wenli, as a life-guarding battle beast, wouldn't truly die, Eddie couldn't bear to see her get hurt, let alone die.

He wasn't sure if the white bull's mental storm had the same instant-kill ability as the death gaze.

Eddie refused to take any risks with her safety.

The surprise attack failed, and Eddie and little Wenli simultaneously abandoned their initial assault, regrouping and patiently waiting for a better opportunity.

This was the first time their opponent had seen through and repelled their ambush.

Eddie initiated the next move, rapidly approaching the white bull. He took out his metallic beast, transformed into a bracelet, and threw it towards the bull.

Mid-air, the bracelet morphed into a dagger.

Though Eddie couldn't attack or use innate energy, the dagger automatically shot out sword light, hissing as it struck at the white bull's right eye.

The bull skillfully retreated, avoiding the metallic beast's attack range, and unleashed another terrifying mental storm.

Eddie summoned his grimoire, raising a shield to block the mental onslaught.

Simultaneously, little Wenli emerged from behind him, her ice blades swiftly slashing towards the white bull, which had just used its mental attack.

Every battle beast's move had a gap, the more powerful the attack, the larger the gap. Eddie and little Wenli aimed to exploit this timing.

However, before little Wenli could unleash her ability, a second wave of mental energy hit them, sending both Eddie and little Wenli flying. In mid-air, they struck palms and separated in opposite directions...

The terrifying mental storm was like a bursting flood, ten times stronger than before.

The white bull had been hiding its strength, waiting for this double attack.

Had Eddie and little Wenli not been vigilant, they might have fallen for it.

Even a Bronze Savage Bull charging too close was hit by the mental storm and sent flying, crashing heavily a hundred meters away.

Nearby bulls were blown away, and the two century-old tree guardians collapsed, their branches destroyed.

Sophia, after the storm, restored the tree guardians with green light while calling out for Eddie, who was nowhere to be seen.

The Blood Queen, dizzy in the sky, took a while to recover.

Ahman, the Bull Shadow, was sprinting furiously because she saw the white bull charging towards Sophia.

"Ahman!"

She cried out, leaping high and slamming her fists onto the white bull's back.

The bull turned its head, its eyes flashing red, meeting Ahman's red gaze – a death stare against a death stare.

The bull staggered as if dazed but didn't fall. Ahman stood still, then collapsed to the ground. The Blood Queen dived down, shrieking beside the bull's ear, causing it to stagger again.

Little Wenli appeared, her ice blades striking the bull's cheek. Ice rapidly formed, and despite the bull's struggles, it eventually turned into a giant ice block.

Eddie descended from the sky, his clothes torn.

He didn't check on Ahman's condition but gestured for Sophia to retreat to the corridor.

As he faced two charging Golden Savage Bulls, his metallic beast transformed into a dagger in his hand, easily slicing off one of the bull's indestructible golden horns.

Little Wenli, faster, restrained the other Golden Savage Bull, her ice blades piercing its eye...

Just then, the ice encasing the white bull shattered explosively.

A massive fist burst out, targeting the Blood Queen, who was unaware she was flying into a deadly trap.

Eddie's recall was too late, but at the last moment, a shadow leaped up, intercepting the gigantic fist – it punched straight through, piercing the shadow's abdomen.

The shadow, unfazed by the pain, raised its large hand, firmly grasping the still-advancing gigantic fist of the enemy, breathing out fire and smoke from its nostrils and mouth, its eyes flashing red. It was the Bull Shadow, Ahman, who had collapsed earlier.

She unleashed another death stare at the golden bull-headed giant, which stumbled after emerging from the shattered ice, seemingly about to collapse. However, before little Wenli could react, the giant regained its footing.

The bull's eyes glared, unleashing a dual mental storm, like a mountain torrent erupting.

Ahman firmly grasped the golden ring on the giant's nose, her forehead shimmering with golden runes.

In her palm, in contact with the golden ring, similar golden runes appeared, shining amidst the storm.

Suddenly, the golden ring slid off the giant's nose onto Ahman's wrist, transforming into a golden bracelet with glowing runes.

The bull-headed giant roared in pain as its concurrent mental storms chaotically merged into a massive explosion.

BOOM!

The shockwave blasted everything away. Amidst the explosion, all seemed insignificant.

Sophia, dazed by the shockwave, lost consciousness.

When she opened her eyes, she found Eddie, his upper body bare, being bandaged by the Blood Queen and little Wenli for his bloody wound along the ribs.

"Brother, where's the bull-headed giant?"

Sophia noticed the chaos around them; the Bronze, Silver, and Golden Savage Bulls were all defeated.

The golden bull-headed giant had vanished, and Eddie's rib wound looked like it was gored by a horn.

The Blood Queen was also injured but fared better than Eddie.

Ahman suffered the worst, her chest and abdomen almost destroyed. Fortunately, as a non-physical life-guarding battle beast, she wouldn't die like a normal beast would in her condition.

Upon seeing Sophia awake, Eddie reassured her, "It's alright, just a minor wound. The bull-headed giant turned back into the white bull, losing its golden ring and power. "

"Before we could finish it off, it transformed into a golden light and teleported away. "

"It seems we've successfully completed the Golden Taurus chamber... Geez, I didn't expect it to be this tough!"

Sophia was still shaken by the encounter.

She hadn't expected the white bull to transform into a female warrior similar to Ahman, the Bull Shadow, and even more powerful than her.

The white bull, possibly a holy beast capable of human transformation as Granny Wendy had mentioned, was incredibly formidable.

It could instantly unleash mental waves, dual strikes, and death stares. Most terrifyingly, Ahman's death stare was ineffective against it.

Thankfully, Eddie proved to be stronger, or the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Reflecting on this, Sophia realized the vast gap between her and her brother.

She resolved to train harder, determined not to hold him back in the future.

Eddie, unaware of her thoughts, also felt relieved recalling the battle.

The golden ring was a powerful enhancer, and without Ahman taking it, the fight against the humanoid bull would have dragged on indefinitely.

He collected the corpses of the defeated bulls, leaving one Golden Savage Bull for Ahman to absorb and heal.

While Sophia rested, Eddie took the opportunity to fetch the Thorny Demoness from the left chamber.

Outside, the Grey Dire Wolf had defeated the bull-headed warriors, but the floating Evil Eyes in the sky proved challenging.

The Blood Queen joined the fight, wielding the Dragon-Slaying Dagger and Sophia's "Piercing Gaze" silver dagger.

With a shrill scream, nearby Evil Eyes fell, and the distant ones were left dazed.

The Grey Dire Wolf, now impressive, attacked fiercely, outpacing even the Blood Queen in killing speed.

The Thorny Demoness, though less fond of the Evil Eyes' corpses, followed Eddie's command and devoured them, forming a forest of thorny plants that astonished even the Blood Queen with its ruthlessness.

"Quick, clean up faster, I'm waiting for my reward!" Eddie hurried back, carrying Sophia and calling little Wenli to follow, while storing the recuperating Bull Shadow.

After completing the Aries chamber, Eddie's reward was an enhancement of his battle beasts' intelligence by the ancient laws.

He wondered what reward he would receive after conquering the Taurus chamber.

Eddie was too impatient to wait any longer. He felt that the reward might be time-sensitive, with richer rewards for faster completion.

Thus, he swiftly eliminated all the monsters and dashed off without bothering to collect the corpses and magic crystals of the bull-headed warriors.

He suspected the Grey Dire Wolf might have already devoured the crystals, so there was no point in wasting time collecting the remains.

Upon entering the inner chamber anxiously, Eddie found the mechanism already activated, revealing the mural of the War God.

Unlike the Aries chamber's goddess attendants, this chamber had two golden bull-headed warriors wielding axes.

Eddie summoned his grimoire and tried everything to claim his reward, growing increasingly anxious as nothing worked.

The Blood Queen and the Thorny Demoness also entered, attempting to interact with the bull-headed statues without success.

Wondering if he had exceeded the time limit, Eddie panicked.

He wished he had rushed to the inner chamber immediately after the white bull transformed into golden light.

Despite his vigilance, he seemed to have missed the reward.

Little Wenli gently hugged Eddie's leg, her big eyes blinking as if to comfort him.

"It's okay."

Eddie reassured her, patting her head, his mind racing.

Why were the attendants in the Taurus chamber different from the Aries chamber?

Should he place the crystal card in the bull-headed warriors' mouths or across their eyes?

He tried various methods with the crystal card, but nothing worked.

Suddenly, little Wenli pointed at the grimoire.

Eddie was puzzled as it showed nothing.

Then, unexpectedly, the grimoire flashed with golden light, and Ahman, the Bull Shadow, appeared without being summoned.

She took the crystal card from Eddie's hand, causing it to emit colorful lights.

Two phantoms shot into the bull-headed warriors, then into their eyes, turning into a purple-red glow that flew into Ahman's eyes.

"Could it be that this reward is specific to battle beasts related to bulls?" Eddie wondered, noticing new changes and evolution in Ahman's information.
