Selina knocked softly before turning the doorknob and stepping into the king's chamber. Not finding him there, she moved towards his study. Seeing him seated behind the desk, immersed in the parchments before him, she leaned against the wall, folding her arms across her chest.
"What is it you wanted to talk about?" she asked, her tone neutral, her expression stoic.
King Aaron glanced up from his work, his eyes locking onto hers. A charming smile tugged at his lips as he rose from the table, the wooden chair screeching against the marble floor.
"What's with that face? Are you still angry at me?" he asked as he crossed the room, enveloping her in a seemingly warm embrace. His lips brushed her brown hair as he added, "I'm sorry, alright? I was just furious because of Ashton. I shouldn't have hit you, nor spoken to you that way." He pressed a kiss to the crown of her head, his voice deceptively soft.
