The Morgans and Helen decided to extend their stay in Winden City for a few more weeks to offer any necessary assistance to the Heathrows.
Elizabeth and Jean's parents arrived at Heathrow's mansion by the lunch and also offerd to extend their support unconditionally. George was their friend and a relative also afterall. The Heathrow's were moved by their unconditional offer.
George explained the current situation and the support received from Helen and Morgan's getting smiles out of everyone.
They stayed there for lunch and left by the evening.
The boys became the focal point of the entire family, seamlessly blending in as if they were long-time members. Actively involved in rebuilding the Heathrows' godown, Alan and Williams, skilled in negotiations and order finalization, crafted new trade strategies to expedite recovery. The other boys accompanied them, enhancing their knowledge and offering assistance as needed.
They successfully negotiated and settled debts related to the lost goods. Alan and Williams, showcasing their settlement skills, saved the Heathrows over 50,000 gold in total. The overall situation no longer appeared as dire as it did just days ago.
A week later, George announced that things were falling back into place, thanks to their collective efforts. The boys remained committed to their routine training schedule, practicing regularly regardless of how hectic the day was. Even Lilly joined them, seeking advice.
Impressed by the boys' dedication to training and their active involvement in assisting the Heathrows, all the adults expressed their admiration with each other.
The following day, a multitude of people gathered outside the Heathrow mansion. George escorted Chris to meet the arrived guests, introducing each one who were parents and grandparents of the children saved by Chris's parents.Praising the heroics of Chris and the accompanying boys who risked their lives, the visitors expressed deep gratitude. When offered gifts in appreciation, Chris initially refused, stating his parents saved the kids without expecting any benefits. George's persuasion eventually led Chris to reluctantly accept the gifts. After the guests departed, the boys carried boxes of gifts, intending to open them later. Despite wanting to give Chris and the boys their own space, Chris insisted on including everyone.Post lunch, the family gathered in the reading room to unveil the contents. Chris, observing Rose and Lilly's eager faces, allowed the girls to open the presents in front of everyone, bringing joy to the room.
Rose removed the covering and opened the first box shocking everyone. There were gold coins inside.
Lilly removed covering on the second gift to find the gold coins again.
They opend box after box and find gold coins inside each and every gift of different sizes.
"Brother Chris, its so boring, there are no sweets or candies at all. I didn't liked the presents you received." Rose pouted.
My lady, as a compensation for the trouble my presents had caused you, I shall bring you candies tomorrow. Will it be fine?" Chris smiled and bowed at Rose, making her blush a bit but she nodded happily. This brought smiles on everyone's face.
"Well Chris, you are a rich boy now," Dave grinned mischievously.Chris glared daggers at him silencing him. " Take it if you want." Chris said uninterestedly.
"No way.... who cares about gold, I am more than happy being here with everyone." Dave shook his head.
"Master George, please utilize this for the construction of the godown," Chris bowed and said, making everyone smile fondly at his thoughtfulgesture.
"No my child, this is the love you had received from all those people. Use it as you please. I can't accept it lad." George rejected his proposal.
"Master George, the care and love I received these few days are more valuable to me than the gold here, please, I request you to reconsider it." Chris pleaded again.
"No my child, you boys had already done enough to our family and we are quite comfortably placed now. Keep it for your own use my dear." Mary said in a grandmotherly tone.
Chris sighed and accepted their decision with a bow of his head. The total gold he received that day was around 30,000. Which was a colossal amount not only to Chris but to anyone for that matter.
