Next day after breakfast, Chris and the boys planned to explore the city and checked if Helen, Elizabeth and Jean could accompany them, which they agreed readily.
Everyone had a great time exploring the city. It was almost the evening when they returned back home.
Alan and the others decided to pay a quick visit to Steve, the master Swordsmith.
Steve was overjoyed to see Alan and gave him a bear hug. Alan then introduced everyone to Steve. All the boys bowed to Steve respectfully earning a nod of approval from him. After spending almost an hour, they left.
Chris fulfilled his promise by presenting candies to Rose and Lilly, who happily accepted. After dinner, everyone sat around, engaged in conversation, and eventually called it a day.
"Happy 7th Birthday Rose," at the breakfast table everyone started wishing the little girl presenting her with sweets and candies.
Helen and Elizabeth together presented a jewelry box saying, " Rose dear, this gift is from all of us". It was an elegent neclace studded with sapphire. Rose happily took it hugging them.
Once all the family members wished and gave Rose their gifts, Williams came to Rose and gave her a beautifully crafted silver handheld mirror. Happy birthday little one. Rose pouted, saying that she was not little anymore but accepted his gift happily and hugged him.
When did you get her gift? Elena asked in surprise. Williams smiled saying, "yesterday when we went out, aunt Elena."
"So you boys had planned it in advance?" Mary asked smiling.
"Not only me but, everyone had." Williams pointed towards the boys smiling.
Alan came to Rose and wished her. He gave her a small box and a candy. Rose ate the candy first and then opened the box. There was a pair of gold earrings with neatly cut sapphires set on the small hangings. " This will go well with the neclace." Alan smiled and ruffled her hair. Rose was exited and jumped with joy then hugged Alan tightly.
Bob, Ben, Dave all gave rose candies and small gifts which were Rose's favorites.
Chris came last, gave a box of sweet. Rose beamed widely. Then he gave an exquisite looking jewelry box. Elena who was standing next to Rose gasped loudly. All the Heathrow's look at Chris's gift curiously first, then stunned.
"Chris, why... how... this is too expensive." Andrew failed to for a coherent sentence due to the surprise. He knew how expensive the gift inside would be, because he had gifted Rose a similar type of box on her 5th birthday.
"Don't worry master Andrew, Chris is a wealthy boy now. He can afford it." Dave said nonchalantly.
"I am sorry everyone, bowing at the Heathrow's, Chris continued, but I overheard everyone talking accidentally, not to spend on any gifts this year for Rose's birthday. Which I felt really bad about. I know how it feels not getting any gifts on your birthday." Chris said sadly.
Tears in their eyes, all the Heathrow's bowed their head at Chris's maturity and at this gesture of love.
Elena hugged him crying. "Thank you Chris, we don't know how are we blessed with so many wonderful lads. First Alan and Williams saving us. Then all of you saving our family from suffering heavy loses, helping us to be happy even after such a huge incident. And now this...." Elena started sobbing hard. Chris was standing like a statue at this sudden show of affection, tears welled up in his eyes also.
"Chris you Jerk, I was planning to gift something special to Rose, all of a sudden a certain someone got rich and stole the spotlight and the affection of the family from me." Dave said in a mock anger making everyone smile. Elena released Chris laughing slightly then hugged Dave also. All of you are a part of this family boys. Thank you all, Elena said hugging each of them.
After eating a sweet, Rose opened the box, and said, "wow its so pretty." When everyone looked at it, they were speachless. It was the most intricately crafted necklace they had held in their hands. It was made from Gold studded with finely cut diamonds and emeralds.
"Lad, how much.....?" George asked in disbelief unable to complete his sentence. Chris shrugged. "Not at all expensive, compared to Lady Rose's smile." He said off handedly and bowed at Rose.
Jean..., Elena asked in a pleading tone.
Its approximately 10,000 gold. Jean told everyone. Morgan's, already privy to this secret, did not had any reaction. But the Heathrow's stiffened in shock.
Before everyone could recover, Chris took out a similar exquisite jewelry box and presented it to Lilly. "This is for our brave girl. We will not be here to celebrate your birth day. So We all wish you a very happy 10th birth year." Chris smiled shoving it to Lilly's hand, who looked dazed. She hugged Chris and started crying.
"I was already suffering from a jerk in our family getting all the attention to himself. Now I have to suffer with one more. Jerk.... " Williams smiled at Chris mischievously.
The gift Lilly received was similar to Rose.
"Why?" Andrew and George asked together.
"Why did you all allowed him to spend so much on these Jewelries? That money was ment for him to spend on his needs." George looked at Helen, Elizabeth and Jean.
"Master George, you told me to spend the amount as I please. And this, the happiness in their eyese pleased me more than anything. So gold well spent." Chris happily declared. The Morgan's and the boys applauded at his words. Here... here..... Alan and Williams said together, Chris took a bow at that, making Rose and Lilly giggle.
"Besides, we all have decided to travel the kingdom after the academy together with Al, so we can earn the gold as we go on. "
"Aaaah..... I spoiled it again right?" He looked with chagrin at Alan and Williams who glared at him.
"Elena was indeed right. We are blessed beyond our wildest imagination to meet you all in our lives." George sighed deeply feeling happier than he ever felt in these past weeks.
The day went on smoothly and ended with a scrumptious dinner.
