"Urgh…!"
Jeong grunted as he stood up from the floor. He could still feel the lingering pain caused by the spell, but for some reason, he also felt refreshed.
"What the hell!?"
The pool of blood on the ground shocked Jeong. It was dark, murky, and smelled terrible. Since he was the only one in the room, he realized that it was his blood. But it did not make sense to him because if a human loses half the amount of blood on the floor, they would be long dead. So, how is he still alive?
"How did this amount of blood come out of me?"
Jeong squats and touched the blood with his finger, and immediately the pool of blood evaporated.
"What the hell?"
Seeing the blood on the ground and on his fingertip evaporate, Jeong fell to the ground with a surprised expression. He could not understand what had just happened.
"Why did my touch cause such a reaction?"
Jeong deliberated while staring at the spot on his finger where the blood evaporated.
[Ding]
Suddenly, a sound rang inside Jeong's head.
[The preparation time for the Tower trials ends in ten seconds]
[… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1]
[Mission: survive for 20 minutes]
[Description: survive the assault of monsters, in whatever way possible.]
[Reward: based on performance]
[Failure: Death.]
"Shit. I haven't checked what I got from the inheritance spell."
*VROOM! *
Thirty meters away from Jeong, a magic circle appeared, summoning two creatures with hideous features. They stood three feet tall with their back hunched forward and sets of razor-sharp teeth.
One of the goblins held a club in its hand and the other held a bow and had a quiver on its back, filled with arrows.
"Shi… shishishi…"
The goblin holding the club charged toward Jeong as soon as it saw him. As it got close, it swung the club straight toward Jeong's knee with a grin on its face. For a creature like goblins, when fighting an opponent taller and larger than them, they instinctively aim for the opponent's weakness, which is usually the knees and ankles.
Jeong jumps back, dodging the attack, but he notices the goblin's grin widen. It ducks and an arrow came flying from behind aiming for Jeong's crotch. But before it could hit, the arrow disappeared.
"Ki… shi?"
The goblins tilted their head confused as to why the human in front of them was still fine. The goblin with the club looks behind at the other goblin and notices the confused expression on its face.
The goblin turns back and charged at Jeong again. It got close and swung its club toward Jeong's right ankle. But it missed and falls to the ground.
"What the hell? It missed?"
It surprised Jeong that the goblin missed. Because he never intended to dodge the attack because he wanted to test something, but now he can only wait to see what the goblins planned to do.
But unknowingly to Jeong, the missed attack was just a distraction, as the actual attack was already coming.
*WOOSH*
The arrow came straight for Jeong's head, while he was still looking at the goblin beside him. The goblins grinned as they knew this was a sure hit. But yet again, the arrow disappeared.
"KI–SHI!"
*BANG*
The archer goblin throws its bow on the ground out of frustration.
"Hey, there is no need to be mad. If you want this back, I can give them to you."
Jeong extends his right hand, and he had two arrows in his palm. The archer goblin notices the arrows, and its gaze became fierce. It takes one of the arrows in the quiver and charges toward Jeong.
"Hey… hey, you don't need to be mad. I'll throw it at you."
Jeong throws the arrow toward the charging goblin with little force, but the arrow flew at an incredible speed, piercing the forehead and chest of the goblin.
"Keuk…!!"
*Bang*
Jeong watched the goblin fall to the ground breathless with its blood gushing out of its body, turning the ground around it purple. The goblin's purple blood surprised him. He thought it would be the same color as humans.
Jeong also noticed that he did not feel remorse or regret for taking a life rather, it felt easy.
"SHIEEEK!!..."
The club goblin screeched from behind and charged at Jeong in rage, while swinging its club erratically, trying to hit Jeong.
But Jeong moved at an incredible speed that made the goblin look like it moved in slow motion. He moves to the goblin's side and taps its chest with his foot, but that little tap was enough to cave in the goblin's chest and send it flying into the air.
*WOOSH*
*BANG*
The goblin lands on the ground from a great height, causing its blood to splatter around.
"Ptooey… Eww… ptooey, I got its blood all over my face and in my mouth. ptooey…"
*VROOM! *
A new magic circle appeared. It summoned three goblins this time around.
Jeong turns his gaze toward them and smirked, as he wipes the blood off his cheek. He thought the trial would be over after he killed the goblins, but it seems that the trial only ends when the timer does.
"Well, it seems you guys are gonna keep coming until the time ends. I hope you guys would help me get used to my new strength…"
He said before charging at the goblins with a sinister smile.
