Chapter 6 - Lady Gaga

At first, she was speechless and couldn't believe what he just proposed, but snapping out of it, she yelled, "What kind of bullshit are you spitting?!!" Causing Fernando to raise a brow questioningly at her.

Unless she was acting it, couldn't she feel the mate bond? And what was illogical about asking your mate to be the mother of your children in a stylish manner? Or wasn't it?

"I would take that as a yes, now let's get down to business." Ignoring her outburst, he turned away from her and walked back into the curtain. Angered, she dropped her hand on the doorknob, about to open it when his voice startled her.

"Ahhh," shrieking, she screamed, her chest heaving up and down from the sudden appearance. How did he get behind her without making a noise?

"Geez, what are you doing for goodness sake?!" She asked, raising her hand in a way to express frustration. Amused, Fernando inched closer, his lips curved in a mischievous smile as he got closer. She was a bold type and he loved bold women, but he was going to conquer her and make her submit.

"What do you think I am doing?" He asked, cornering her completely. Looking sideways, she searched for a way to escape but there was none as leaving the room was the only way right now. This man sounded crazy, it would be best to avoid talking to him before things grew worse.

What was bothering her was this strange pull she was feeling towards him. Could it be because he was the one that saved her from dying last night? Something wasn't right and she didn't care to know, she only wanted to leave this place for her sanity.

"How would I know? You are obviously crazy," she replied, glaring at him with an irritated look.

Fernando smiled, irritating Angel even more, was he nuts? As she was about to talk, he seized her lips, catching her off guard.

Strangely, his lips were warm and enticing, she didn't feel the urge to push him away. This was her first kiss and she shouldn't let this crazy man steal it away from her. but why did it feel like it was right?

Grabbing her by the waist, Fernando drew her closer and sucked on her lower lips, erupting a light moan from Angel. Nervously, Angel grabbed onto her gown, squeezing it tightly in case she fainted from the overwhelming emotions. His scent wasn't helping, all she could smell was him.

His presence dominated her senses entirely and it was irrefutable. Parting her lips for him, he gained entry to it and just when she thought he was going to deepen it, he withdrew from her and yanked her off him harshly.

Annoyed, "What was that for?" She asked.

"You wanted to know what I was doing, do you finally understand why you are having those strange emotions for a man you just met?" He asked, hinting at something she was yet to comprehend.

"Are you trying to…" halting, she dropped her hands on her beating chest and widened her eyes in realization when she figured out what was happening.

"You are my mate?" Dazed, she inquired, leaning against the wall for support. Her mate saved her and saw her in her most miserable state, she hated herself so much.

Cowering, she looked away, now embarrassed to look at him after what happened last night. She thought half-human and half-wolf couldn't have a mate, how come she had one?

"Are you shy now?" Teasing, he asked, chuckling in an amused manner. Just when he thought she was going to confront the truth courageously, she broke down.

"Can I leave?" Feeling disgusted with herself, she asked, impatient to leave his study room.

Fernando wanted to insist but he could feel her breakdown, and he didn't want his emotions to be soured so early, so he nodded in response.

"Try to come for breakfast," before she could leave, he urged but she didn't reply and only left his room.

Walking through the corridor, different thoughts swirled through her mind as she thought of how her mate only just appeared when she was on the brink of death. And her mate happened to be the Head of the Alphas of all mates? She didn't know if it was bad news or good news, because everyone knew of the most dangerous Alpha. Though he didn't look scary, one could never tell what the heart carried.

She knew she had no choice but to marry him and become the Head of the Luna, but she was afraid of what the future held. The last precedents either died of an illness that wasn't identified, or a strange death after childbirth. She had worked so hard to be successful, she wouldn't let a generational curse kill her.

Committing suicide was better than dying a weak Luna. Judging from his expression, he didn't look like someone who wanted love. Her father once mentioned proposing marriage with his only daughter, if things worked out, she could be discarded.

She wasn't going to trust anyone now that she had survived death. She died once, she wouldn't die easily the second time. All she needed to do now was make a deal with him. In exchange for bearing him heirs, she was going to get back her rights, and leave this pack to go live elsewhere. She was going to completely disappear from the surface of the earth and never come back.

She could change her name and settle down with a good man if she finds one. Seeing how hopeful her future could be, she took a deep breath, finding assurance in her calculations.

This time around, she wouldn't go down without a fight. The only way for her to survive was to be herself and not act like a nice lady that she wasn't. Whether or not Apha Fernando's family accepted her, her purpose remained the same.

"Miss? Are you lost?!" Interrupting her thoughts, a maid asked, tapping her shoulder when she didn't receive a response.

Confused, she looked around her, wondering what was happening until she regained her composure. "Ahh right, I am just going back to my room." In a refined manner, she answered, shocking the maid. It was rare to see female guests this respectful. Or was she being pretentious like Lady Gaga?
