Chapter 9 - "Three no products" (2)

Uncle Wei suddenly said again, "Wan Rong, the matter I mentioned to you a few days ago, what have you considered?"

"Are you talking about the matter of me pretending to be someone's son?" Lin Wan Rong was stunned for a moment, then comprehended and asked.

A few days ago, Uncle Wei had mentioned this matter to Lin Wan Rong. The general idea was for Lin Wan Rong to impersonate the son of a wealthy family, a proposal that Lin Wan Rong had firmly rejected. Today, Uncle Wei brought it up again, and Lin Wan Rong was unsure of his intentions.

Uncle Wei apparently thought that Lin Wan Rong was hesitating, so he hurriedly said, "Wan Rong, this family is not an ordinary wealthy one. Their power is beyond your imagination. If you really reach that point, you will understand what I mean."

"Beyond my imagination? Is he the emperor?" Lin Wan Rong said coldly.

Uncle Wei glanced at Lin Wan Rong with his empty eye sockets, remaining silent. His expression was unclear to Lin Wan Rong.

"Pretending to be someone's son, do you think others won't recognize it? Don't take people for fools," Lin Wan Rong advised Uncle Wei, hoping he would abandon this idea.

"You are right; no one is a fool. I can tell you that this gentleman will never have a son. He knows it well, but he must find a son," Uncle Wei said.

"Oh?" This is getting interesting. Clearly knowing he doesn't have a son, yet he insists on pretending to have a blood relationship. This is indeed amusing.

Lin Wan Rong couldn't resist gossiping, "Why? Is there really someone who likes to take advantage of being someone else's father?"

Uncle Wei looked at Lin Wan Rong meaningfully and said, "In this vast world, how many things can be achieved according to one's own wishes? Even the royal relatives have their own difficulties, not to mention common people."

"Why did he choose me then?" Lin Wan Rong smiled and increasingly discovered his potential as a gossip columnist.

"Because you are bold, meticulous, have unique insights, thick-skinned, and, most importantly—" Uncle Wei looked at Lin Wan Rong with a mysterious smile, "you are shameless enough!"

Damn, I take back the question I just asked; this old man Wei is totally setting me up. Lin Wan Rong felt irritated but could only shake his head and smile helplessly. Heaven is playing tricks on me; shamelessness is not my fault.

Uninterested in continuing the gossip, Lin Wan Rong sternly said, "Filial piety is the foundation of all virtues. The relationship based on blood is innate and unchangeable. If Lin Wan Rong acknowledges someone else as parents, where does that leave the ones who gave birth and raised me? Such behavior is no different from that of animals."

Uncle Wei pondered for a moment, nodded, and said, "I didn't expect you to have such pride. Well, let's not mention this for now. Wan Rong, I will leave tomorrow. Our meeting today, I don't know when we'll meet again."

"What?" Lin Wan Rong was shocked. This Uncle Wei is the first person he met in this world, even the only relative he considers. How can he just leave like this?

You leave, what am I going to eat and drink? Lin Wan Rong thought to himself.

Uncle Wei smiled and said, "I am almost eighty this year, and I have stayed in Jinling City for ten years. It's time to go somewhere else."

Nearly eighty? How come there's no sign of it? This old man really knows how to take care of himself.

"Uncle Wei, where are you going?" After spending so much time with this old man, Lin Wan Rong had developed some feelings. Although for the past month, he had been asked by Uncle Wei to cook and do laundry in the name of a disabled person every day, there was no denying that there was a bond between them. Imagine, in this vast world, having only one person you know, the situation is quite tragic.

Uncle Wei did not answer Lin Wan Rong's question but just smiled and said, "Maybe I need to visit my hometown first. After all, I'm getting old, and it's time to return to my roots."

He looked at Lin Wan Rong meaningfully and said, "Wan Rong, the world changes like white clouds and wild dogs. Perhaps when we meet again, you might be thinking of killing me."

Although Uncle Wei was smiling, there was a hint of unhidden melancholy on his face.

Naturally, Lin Wan Rong thought this old man was just being whimsical and chose to ignore his words.

"Uncle Wei, where is your hometown? Do you have family there? Are your descendants all in your hometown?" In the past month, Uncle Wei rarely talked about his family affairs with Lin Wan Rong. Apart from knowing that he was a senior servant of the wealthy Xiao family in Jinling, Lin Wan Rong knew nothing about him.

"Descendants?" A bitter smile appeared on Uncle Wei's face. He looked at Lin Wan Rong and said, "Wan Rong, maybe you will understand my situation in the future. Let's not talk about this now. Let me give you a little gift since we've met."

He sneakily took out an ancient, thin, colorful booklet from his pocket and handed it to Lin Wan Rong.

Lin Wan Rong took it and casually flipped through a few pages, depicting various intimate scenes between men and women—dragons wrestling, tigers leaping, leopards pouncing, cicadas clinging—more than a hundred different positions. The depictions were vivid, and the expressions of climax were lifelike.

Lin Wan Rong's eyes lit up. This was much better than those playboys, Men's Health, Dragon Tiger Leopard, and the like.

He thought he had already combined the aesthetics of Japan and the West after watching a lot of Japanese AV and Western films, along with numerous experiences with his previous girlfriends. Today, upon seeing this little booklet, he realized he was still a bit ignorant. Our ancestors had already delved into the boundless sea of debauchery, researching so thoroughly. Compared to these dedicated predecessors, Lin Wan Rong felt somewhat embarrassed as a younger generation.

Uncle Wei looked at Lin Wan Rong and grinned, "How is it? Do you see anything special?"

Lin Wan Rong casually flipped through a few pages, appreciating the charm within. Reflecting on his past actions, he chuckled, "Hehe, Uncle Wei, if you have anything else good, bring it out and let me see. By the way, do you have illustrated versions of 'Jin Ping Mei,' 'The Jade Pillow Group,' and 'The Lamp-Climbing Monk'?"

"What 'Jin Ping Mei,' 'The Jade Pillow Group,' and 'The Lamp-Climbing Monk'?" Uncle Wei asked with a strange expression.

Lin Wan Rong suddenly remembered that such good books didn't exist in this world. Feeling a bit sorry for Uncle Wei, he just laughed and didn't answer.

Although Uncle Wei didn't understand what these were, seeing Lin Wan Rong's lascivious expression, he could guess what he was thinking about. He

glanced at Lin Wan Rong, chuckled a few times, and showed a strange and complex expression on his face. After a while, he said, "Ah, being a man is really good!"

Really? Lin Wan Rong couldn't help taking a cold breath. Is this eighty-year-old Uncle Wei made of glass?

This thought made Lin Wan Rong break into a cold sweat. Although people in Lin Wan Rong's era had more open minds, if he really shared a room with an old glass for a month and then went out to meet people, how would that look?

Uncle Wei sighed again, slowly saying, "Don't let those debaucheries blind your eyes. Take a closer look at the red lines on those people."

Hearing Uncle Wei's words, Lin Wan Rong finally noticed the thin red lines resembling blood vessels on the small figures on the colorful pages. Could this be the legendary diagram of the meridian pathways used during cultivation?

"I found this when I was blind, infiltrating the palace library. It was discovered in a secluded corner. The era is ancient, and the creator cannot be traced. Whether it has any effect has not been verified. I kept it all these years because I found it interesting," Uncle Wei explained simply.

Damn, it turns out it's a product with no credentials. No wonder he's so generous in giving it to me. Lin Wan Rong chuckled, thinking about asking this old man why he doesn't personally give it a try.

As if sensing Lin Wan Rong's thoughts, Uncle Wei hesitated for a moment and said, "I—due to personal reasons, cannot cultivate. But I believe no one is more suitable for this technique than you."

Damn, is this praising me or mocking me?
