Chapter 13 - Interested in the eldest lady(2)

Following Mr. Dong to his home, similar to Lin Wanrong's residence, Mr. Dong's house was also a simple thatched cottage. Inside, there was a young lady of seventeen or eighteen, sitting by the window, carefully mending. Another young man of fifteen or sixteen, dressed in short attire, with bright, curious eyes, was scrutinizing Lin Wanrong.

"Qiaoqiao, quickly prepare tea; we have an esteemed guest in our home," Mr. Dong shouted loudly as soon as he entered the house.

The young lady by the window raised her head, with arched eyebrows, willow-like eyes, delicate nose, and rosy lips. Undoubtedly, she was an exceptionally beautiful young lady, a rare beauty that could at least be considered a campus flower if placed at Peking University.

Unable to discern Mr. Dong's lecherous appearance, he had actually raised such an excellent daughter. Truly, good fortune can arise from unexpected places.

Lin Wanrong smiled and said to Mr. Dong, "Uncle Dong, you are truly blessed."

Mr. Dong raised his head and laughed, "Girl, this is Mr. Lin. Come and greet him."

Perhaps because there had never been unfamiliar young men in the house, the girl called Qiaoqiao was still a bit reserved. Her face turned red as she walked to Lin Wanrong and greeted, "Greetings, Mr. Lin."

Lin Wanrong smiled and pointed to his exposed toes, saying, "Miss Dong, you're making fun of me. With my shabby appearance, I can hardly be called a sir."

Seeing Lin Wanrong's wiggling toes, Qiaoqiao couldn't help but cover her lips with a smile. Her face turned even redder.

Mr. Dong then pointed to the fifteen or sixteen-year-old young man and said, "Qingshan, come and meet Mr. Lin."

Qingshan, with a curious expression, approached Lin Wanrong and saluted, "Greetings, Mr. Lin."

Lin Wanrong smiled and pulled Qingshan closer, saying to Mr. Dong, "Uncle Dong, is this your son?"

Mr. Dong laughed and said, "Indeed. This kid is always idle, causing trouble. He has embarrassed Mr. Lin with his antics."

Despite Qingshan being only fifteen or sixteen years old, he had agile eyes, a bold demeanor, and, upon meeting strangers, showed no signs of fear. There were also several bruises on his body, seemingly from fighting. However, this young man appeared natural and seemed not to care.

Lin Wanrong was quite fond of this young man, so he asked, "Qingshan, have you attended school?"

Qingshan shook his head, saying, "I studied at a private school for two years, but the teacher kicked me out."

Mr. Dong, angrily interjected, "Who let you fight with Master Zhang?"

Qingshan retorted, "He was bullying others, and I couldn't just stand by. If he dares to do it again next time, I'll definitely fight back."

Seeing Mr. Dong getting agitated, Qiaoqiao hurriedly persuaded, "Dad, it's all in the past. Don't scold my brother."

Seemingly obedient to his daughter, Mr. Dong gave Qingshan a stern look but didn't say anything more.

Lin Wanrong found it amusing and said to Qingshan, "In the future, if you want to fight, come to me. I'll help you figure it out, and you won't be bullied by others."

"Really?" Qingshan was delighted; it was the first time someone had spoken to him like this, especially someone who seemed knowledgeable. His happiness was beyond words.

Mr. Dong and Qiaoqiao looked at Lin Wanrong together. Mr. Dong didn't understand the meaning behind Lin Wanrong's words, but Qiaoqiao seemed to have some understanding.

Lin Wanrong nodded to Mr. Dong and said, "Uncle Dong, rest assured. Qingshan will fight less in the future."

Qiaoqiao looked at her brother's bruises, a trace of distress in her eyes. She glanced at Lin Wanrong and nodded gently.

Lin Wanrong continued, "It's better to guide than to restrain. Instead of preventing Qingshan from fighting outside, tell him what he should and shouldn't do, how to minimize his losses, and prevent harm to himself and his loved ones."

Qingshan's face lit up, saying, "Yes, yes, that's what I hope for. Brother Lin, please teach me."

Qingshan was quite clever. In an instant, he stopped addressing Lin as "Mr." and directly called him "Brother Lin."

Mr. Dong couldn't understand the meaning in Qingshan's words, but Qiaoqiao looked thoughtful and seemed to grasp something.

Lin Wanrong nodded to Mr. Dong, "Uncle Dong, you can relax. Qingshan will fight less from now on."

Qiaoqiao looked at her brother's bruises, and a hint of tenderness flashed in her eyes. She then glanced at Lin Wanrong, lightly nodding.

Lin Wanrong continued, "Fighting won't decrease by preventing Qingshan from going out; it's likely to increase. I guess I'm right?"

Observing Qingshan's injuries, Qiaoqiao's eyes revealed a trace of heartache. She looked at Lin Wanrong and nodded slightly.

Lin Wanrong went on, "Instead of restricting him, it's better to guide him. I can help Qingshan think of solutions when he faces problems. I won't let others bully him."

"Really?" Qingshan felt unprecedented joy. This was the first time someone spoke to him in this manner, especially someone who seemed knowledgeable. His happiness was beyond words.

Mr. Dong and Qiaoqiao both looked at Lin Wanrong. While Mr. Dong didn't understand the meaning behind Lin Wanrong's words, Qiaoqiao seemed to have a sense of understanding.

Lin Wanrong nodded at Mr. Dong, saying, "Uncle Dong, rest assured. Qingshan will engage in fewer
