Hearing what Jane said, Angel fell silent as if she had just thought of it. She felt ashamed and also guilty for what she had done to Bara in the past. She knew that Jane was right, she was a traitor.
"But…" Angel said, hanging, because she saw Jessie coming towards her. "Jessiiiiieee…!" Angel shouted suddenly, calling Jessie's name. She tried to hide her guilt by acting cheerful. She also tried to forget it.
Jessie was Angel's classmate, who was also a member of the student executive board. Jessie was a beautiful and smart girl. She had long, wavy blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She dressed formally, with a black blazer and pale brown pants.
Jessie approached Angel and kept staring at Angel with a questioning look in her eyes. She was surprised to see Angel who had arrived late and did not work like the others. She really wanted to hit Angel's head right then, because she felt Angel was irresponsible as a student executive board member. But because Angel immediately threw a very sweet smile at Jessie, Jessie finally gave up her intention. Besides, Jessie was not that rude.
"What are you doing here, Angel?" Jessie asked Angel, with a cold tone. She was not happy with Angel's attitude, which seemed like she did whatever she wanted.
Instead of answering Jessie's question, Angel diverted the conversation by introducing her to her cousin and friends.
"Oh, yes, Jane, this is Jessie, she is my classmate. We are both in the business management class. And my dear Jessie, this is my cousin Jane, and her friends Maria and Denies. They are new students at our beloved campus." Angel introduced them to Jessie, with a sweet style.
Jessie just smiled thinly and nodded politely at Jane, Maria, and Denies. Actually, she was not very interested in them, because she was more focused on her work that was still unfinished. She also did not like the term of endearment from Angel, because she felt Angel was not sincere. She knew that Angel was someone who liked to play with other people's feelings. She also knew that Angel still liked Bara, even though she had broken up with him and started a romance with someone Angel chose. She also knew that Bara was someone she still loved secretly. Yes, Jessie knew everything about Angel.
When Angel was busy introducing her friends, suddenly a man's voice shouted her name at the door of the hall. The sound was so loud and clear, making everyone there turn to look at him.
"ANGEL!!!"
Angel turned around, and was surprised to see who called her. He was Mike, Angel's new boyfriend. Mike was a handsome and rich man. He had short, shiny black hair, and deep brown eyes. He dressed sporty, with a gray hoodie jacket. He also had an athletic body.
"Mike?" Angel was so happy that Mike came looking for her. She did not expect that Mike would come to her in the campus hall, because she knew that lately Mike was busy with his basketball club. She thought Mike came at the right time. And this was also an opportunity for Angel to leave and run away from her work. For her, Mike was her lifesaver. She did not want to work hard like her friends, she just wanted to have fun with Mike now.
"Hmm, Jessie, I promise I'll be back. Now I have to go." Angel said, trying to convince Jessie. "Oh yes, Jane, have fun with your friends. Bye!" Angel continued to quickly go to her lover and leave with him. She did not care about what Jessie or her other friends would say. She only cared about Mike, who made her feel special.
Meanwhile, Jane's eyes kept looking at Bara, who did not turn to look at the door. Bara was still sitting in his chair, with a flat facial expression and an empty gaze. He did not react at all when he saw Angel leave with Mike. He seemed to not care about what was happening.
"Angel always goes with that man and keeps forgetting all her tasks. Oh my God!" Jessie grumbled, shaking her head. She was annoyed by Angel's irresponsible and disrespectful attitude towards her friends who had been working since morning. She felt that Angel only used them for her own benefit.
"I think she did it on purpose to avoid all this work." Maria said sarcastically to Jessie. She knew that Angel was clever. She knew that Angel always looked for ways to avoid hard or boring work.
"You're right, and she often does that when all the student executive board members are busy." Jessie chuckled as she tidied up the scattered items. She felt that Angel did not deserve to be a student executive board member, because Angel did not contribute anything to the student executive board. She felt that Angel only relied on her beautiful appearance and high popularity.
"Jane, your cousin is really messed up." Denies said, shaking his head. He did not like Angel's arrogant and selfish attitude. He also did not like the way Angel treated Bara, who used to be her boyfriend.
"I hope you're not like her!" Maria whispered a little and then looked for a seat in the back. She just hoped that Jane would not imitate her cousin's bad attitude. She hoped that Jane would be a better and wiser person in choosing and behaving.
"What do you mean? Come on!" Jane tried to deny, with an annoyed tone. She already understood where the conversation of her two friends was going.
Jane followed Maria and sat next to Maria with a resentful look. But then, for some reason, Jane's eyes turned back to where Bara looked frozen after seeing Angel leave with Mike. He seemed sad to see Angel leave with Mike. But, who knows, that was just Jane's guess. Jane did not know what was really in Bara's heart. Jane just felt sorry for Bara, who had to endure his pain alone. Jane also felt strange about herself, who could not take her eyes off Bara. Jane did not know what she really felt for Bara. Jane just felt something that attracted her attention to Bara. Jane just felt something different from Bara.
