As she waited for the first combatants to come back, Tiffany kept inspecting the grooves, wondering if she could uncover their secrets on her own. But, inspect as she might, there was nothing glaringly evident about them, aside from the fact that they seemed made by friction.
The first one to come back from preparing was Akkes, who landed on the training grounds, his talons now adorned with a set of Songnium claws, which extended a little past his own.
Akkes left behind deep, menacing tracks with each step, etching the ground with his presence. The ground groaned slightly under the weight of his anticipation, mirroring the tension in the air.
But Tiffany looked unimpressed.
"You leave for five minutes to prepare for a fight where your life is on the line, and that is all you come back with? A set of extra-long claws? I hope your counterpart brings something more interesting to the fight, or this won't be much of an entertainment," she groaned in disappointment.
