Henry and Jhonny walked back to their quarters, crossing paths with their captain on their way there, and he stopped them.
"What are you two doing here? I thought the Major had set you up for your guard duty with the doctor."
Henry looked at him and saluted, Jhonny emulating his movement.
"We were, sir. But the doctor went to sleep in her quarters. Apparently, she hadn't been sleeping much lately and needed to rest. So we were given leave until tomorrow."
The captain looked at Henry, his eyes narrowing, before he looked at Jhonny.
"That true, Private?"
"Yes, sir!" Jhonny replied, keeping his arm up in a salute.
Captain Hornstatter huffed but resumed his walk.
"Then I suggest you rest as well. If something happens during the rest of your appointed shift, I'll expect you to respond immediately. Understood?" he asked as he walked away.
