Chapter 13 - The bloody Colosseum one last debt

"Somniya are you out of your mind?!" Eve screeches drowning both in love and furious concern clenching both her fists at her side's digging her nails into her palms in hopes of soothing the stress.

"Genuinely I could be ha-ha." Somniya chuckles calmly.

Taking a deep *sigh* Eve rests both her arms on the side of her hips "You have no idea what the Colosseum is really like do you."

"Nope," Somniya replied without any hesitancy or shying away from his stupidity.

"It's referred to as the bloody colosseum for a reason, of course you can win with minimal damage, but most people won't hold back,

the Colosseum is filled with bloodthirsty people who won't hesitate to tear you limb from limb if you allow them.

People who have either been sentenced to a time period at the Colosseum or jail,

people who have hit rock bottom and joined willingly,

and people who make a living entirely off fighting in the Colosseum alone, those are usually the most dangerous ones."

Somniya looked towards her his eyes and mind unwavering "And why would they be so bloodthirsty?"

"The greater damage you do, the greater reward you gain," Eve replied as simply as possible folding both her arms under her breasts as she shut her eyes.

Nailed in shock Somniya jumps forwards as his eyes and mouth widen "What!" 'The Colosseum rewards you based on how horrifically you can beat another person?!'

"More money or a bigger reduction to your sentence. You- I mean Ruthless created a world where the strongest benefit the most of all. Those that are strong rule, benefit, dictate."

Biting his lip Somniya looks to the ground. 'How could he create such a terrible society across the entirety of the world as well?! Is that even possible!?'

"Look it's sad but even I would struggle to keep someone alive through the Colosseum and it's impossible to leave once you start.

Even if you do it'll forever be on your head and if you get caught your sentence could be doubled or even tripled!"

"I see, so granny's son can't ever be completely safe unless-

I bring the bloody colosseum to the ground!"

"How the hell are you going to do that?! You're obviously not strong enough to destroy an entire colosseum neither would anyone let you if you tried!"

"Yeah, obviously I'm not stupid!"

"Debatable the way you've been talking…"

"I just have to shut it down I am still the demon king, right? Just gotta talk to whoever I hired to run it…"

"I don't think many people care about you being the king anymore.

 You aren't strong anymore.

Especially when the owners are making a bunch of money off the Colosseum, I doubt they'd shut it down if you were just to ask nicely."

Somniya punched his palm with his right hand after turning away from Eve with a devious grin, "Then I'll beat and threaten them- "

"It's not that easy either how many times have I told you strength rules this world? Although there's little of it you still had some order, those that govern the colosseums aren't weak."

"Wait colosseumS?" Somniya interrogated picking apart her careless words.

"Oh no- um yeah there are three other colosseums apart from the one in Cetura city where we had just come from."

"Then I have no choice I'll bring all of them down."

"HAVE YOU NOT LISTEN TO ANYTHING I'VE SAID!!!!"

"You'll have to become strong enough to reach a high rank to even be able to see the governors of the colosseum all within a month's time-"

"That's why we gotta start training now I already told you myself, I'm not strong right now I need to become strong."

"There's no way you could do it all alone," Eve concluded turning her back towards Somniya reaching for the entrance of the hotel-

"That's why I need you more than anything."

Eve stood petrified by the stun for a moment "…!"

"Sorry, gonna have to add a bit more onto my debt ha-ha. Teach me how to fight please!"

"*Sigh* I have a feeling you'll go yourself regardless of what I say…" A slight grin grew on Eve's face, her back still facing Somniya.

Somniya's silence said it all.

"Okay, fine we'll start tomorrow."

"No, we have to start now two days of the month have already passed!!"

"Okay fine. Let's just find out what to do with all our stuff I want to take you somewhere."

"Ye you can keep your stuff in this hotel as long as you need," Granny said with such glee it felt as if she was the one meaning to be grateful.

"Wow, really are you sure?" Eve said so shocked she had to be sure of her consideration.

"Thank you so much, Granny! And I swear to you I'll bring him home, Eve let's go!" Somniya repeated setting his previous proclamation in place.

"Wait Son I have something to give you," Granny called beckoning Somniya to come closer with her left hand.

"First I'd like to give you a-

*Bonk*"

"Ow!"

"Next, wait here…"

After a few minutes of rummaging in a room behind the counter, the old lady re-entered the room holding a short dagger within the palm of both her hands, lending an aura of mystique and peculiarity, despite seeming physically quite ordinary it was impossible to deny something was different about this weapon.

Its handle was wrapped by bandages evidently worn out through time, with short tears and threads poking out from the corner, alongside its faded musky grey colour established this.

However, the dagger itself remained completely spotless as if it itself had never cut flesh or exchanged blows with another weapon.

Still hesitant Somniya took the weapon in his hands, and it felt as if some strange power had flooded inside and throughout his entire body causing his spine to shiver and his body to warm up simultaneously. "Tha-Thank you."

"I know it seems quite ordinary I can tell you it's anything but that even though I can't really tell you why myself.

All I know is this weapon had been passed down and exchanged hands for a while used to win an uncountable number of battles and tribulations against an uncountable number of enemies.

It was even used to take down one of the previous demon kings. As legends say anyway.

There must be something special about it. I could never discover it myself or find anyone who has.

I'd never dream of giving it away or selling it to anyone random. But I know there's something special about you and I'm sure it'll dawn upon you when the time is right."

'Just looks like an ordinary dagger to me, old ladies and their stories. There's no way I can reject a gift though.' Not thinking much about it Somniya thanks the old lady and turns back to Eve.

"Eve, let's go."
