Chapter 5 - Useless Goddess (2)

"Huh? What did you just say?" Edward blinked incredulously, letting out a long sigh. "You're more incompetent than the blue-haired goddess."

"Hey, don't talk to me like that... I've been demoted to a mere lesser goddess, and everyone is already calling me lazy and useless." Litty's eyes welled up with tears as she nervously intertwined her fingers, looking directly down. "I don't need another person saying that about me..."

Edward kicked Litty in the face, sending her flying away, saying, "Stop whining; that's exactly what they said."

Caressing his face, making it heal, Litty shouted, "Did you really have to kick me to say that?"

"Shut up and send me back to the Yztroyrdnik kingdom," Edward spoke, standing tall in front of her, making him seem like a gigantic creature.

"Wha...why is this happening to me?" Litty said, hugging Edward's legs. But before he could say anything, a bolt of lightning seemed to strike Litty's head, and she said, "Why did you ask to return to Yztroyrdnik and not to Earth? Are you just a pervert wanting to go into Jennie's arms?"

"I already told you to shut up!" Edward spoke unyielding.

"Ugh, sorry..." Litty jumped backward, assuming a dogeza pose.

"And besides, I died... for the second time. What guarantees you won't kill me again if I go back to Earth?" Edward spoke, staring fixedly at Litty, who suddenly seemed to want to disappear from existence.

"I kind of can't do that... since there's no third chance," Litty said, just finishing her recovery when she felt something hitting her chest—Edward's two feet throwing her away.

"What the hell! Comparing you to that blue-haired goddess is an insult to her. Can't you think properly? If you had sent me back to Earth, it would have been enough. I already thought that all of that was a dream," Edward spoke, fuming with anger, walking slowly toward Litty. "What are you going to say now? That I can't go back to Yztroyrdnik either? Is that it?"

A deadly silence hung in the air, interrupted only by some of Litty's coughs before she healed.

"Is this serious? What are you going to do now? You damned one! I can't go to another world either!" Edward realized Litty's intention, and he quickly pointed downward. "Don't speak until I say so... because now, you were going to tell me to send me to another world, right? And I know exactly which one."

"Another world where I'd have the misfortune of dealing with some trouble, right? That Demon King has already exhausted my patience for an eternity," Edward sighed, looking from side to side. "Oh... my God... I mean, screw it anyway, I can't stay like this."

"You said you were demoted, right?" Edward asked.

"Yes, yes... can't you see the place? This is what lesser gods can use, and apparently, we can be hurt by humans too." Litty knelt on the ground, her face downcast. She kept her sparkling gaze on Edward, continuing, "I know I was stupid, but if I don't fix this, I might end up turning into dust."

"Then turn into dust; I'll wait for your replacement, and she should be able to do something good," Edward spoke, sitting on the ground.

"Please don't do that... I won't mess up; I promise... look, the world you're going to won't even need you to be a hero or anything since there's already one there." As Litty spoke, she saw a look of disgust on his face. "What??? Why are you like that?"

"I don't want to go to any world that has something bad, like Earth. Isn't there anything without all that?" Edward said.

"There is; there actually is... but they're all worse than Earth—the downside always outweighs the more weapons and wars, and also more thefts." As Litty spoke, Edward's distrustful expression only increased.

"Really! I'm not lying; there's no one hundred percent good world. In all of them, there must be both good and evil; without one, the other doesn't exist..." Litty spoke, holding Edward's cheeks and looking into his eyes before jumping backward.

Continuing to speak, she began gesturing with her hands. "So unless you want to go to an empty world where no one has emotions or instincts, not even animals have anything to do... and I also can't create a world like that. Besides, I don't have the power for it anymore, and it wouldn't take even five years for something bad to happen."

"Now you decided to be smart, huh? Why weren't you like this from the beginning?" Edward spoke, hearing Litty grumble about not being able to please him.

"Wait..." Litty said, giving a smile as she sat proudly. "There is a world you can go to, and even though it has the problems of good and evil, you'll go unnoticed and won't get involved in anything dangerous."

"Hmmm... It might work, but I'd better keep my mana blessing. Be sure there's something fishy about it," Edward spoke, getting up and brushing off his pants. "But there's a condition for accepting to clear your name, you useless goddess."

"Please don't call me that... and what would it be? The mana blessing is impossible to remove from your being anyway..." Litty spoke, wiping the blood dripping from her mouth. It seems the situation was truly traumatic for her.

"You'll come to this world as my familiar," Edward spoke, touching the tip of the goddess's nose.

"Ahhh, I knew it, you really are a pervert. What are you doing... wait a minute? Familiar?" Litty looked confusedly at Edward.

"Of course, if you do something wrong, you'll pay for your mistake. Besides, it's a way for me to get back at you for ripping away my future life three times," Edward spoke, bringing his hand to hers, asking with a mischievous smile, "So, do you accept?"

"You son of a bitch... how can you do this to a goddess..." Litty's eyes would see exactly what his next words would be, causing her to cover his mouth, saying, "Okay, okay, I can endure living a hundred years with you in exchange for becoming a superior goddess again... damned mistake."

"That's if you do everything right, huh?" Edward teased.

"Shut up; if I'm really going to mess up, then we're screwed," It was the first time Litty hit Edward, but the punch she gave to his chest seemed so gentle that it was barely felt.

A few minutes passed.

"Alright, everything's set up, and just like last time, you'll still be named Edward. Now please stand up, and let's start the transfer," Litty spoke, seeing Edward tapping his fingers on his knee, looking at her with a judgmental smile.

"Okay, okay! I haven't forgotten about this, you damn bastard," Litty extended her arms upward, stood on her toes, and suddenly shrank to ten centimeters. She flew up to Edward's right shoulder, placed her hand on him, and a bright light illuminated the entire place as the two disappeared.
