Six minutes had passed in the spirit world, equivalent to less than a second in normal time, when Litty opened her eyes.
"To be chosen by this kind of spirit, you, Edward, are truly someone worthy of being a tamer because they don't usually trust someone so easily," the summoning spoke, with a spirit of black fur having three fluffy tails with their tips being red.
"Kyuu." The purple eyes of the spirit locked onto Edward, and its tongue would stick out of its mouth as it seemed to give a smile.
"A night fox," the summoning spoke, handing it to Edward, completing, "If you decide to be a tamer, you'll have a tough road, but if you don't lose your way, you'll be greatly successful."
"You did great, Litty, even exceeded my expectations," Edward spoke, holding and petting the fox's head with his thumb.
"Damn, not even a proper thank you..." Litty spoke, frowning.
'What the hell is wrong with this group? They always get the best things,' the boy with glasses thought, gritting his teeth.
"If you keep it up, you'll lose another pair of glasses," the girl beside him spoke, turning her face away.
'Damn it!!! This is all because of these girls, if it weren't for them, damn it,' the boy spoke, looking at Amelin; around her body, a huge amount of black magic was circulating, showing the illusion of hundreds of skeletons within the dominion of black magic.
"Throw the crown away; you don't need it; you don't even belong to the same plane as a mere queen of the dead; you can become the goddess of death herself, Miss Amelin, if you allow me, let me bow to you," the summoning spoke, smiling and then looking at Adrwn, who nodded.
"Goddess of death? How do I have something like that and no one ever told me?" For the first time since Edward and everyone at the academy had known her, a truly genuine and excited smile spread across Amelin's face as she looked at the dark energy floating between her fingers.
"She's smiling...? That's more surprising than you genuinely complimenting me," Litty spoke.
"Damn, it seems there's some enchantment magic in that smile of hers," Edward let slip, thinking aloud, but Litty only gave a wicked smile upon hearing this.
"Goddess? A goddess of death? How is that possible? What the hell is this?" The boy with glasses spoke, squeezing his pencil until it broke.
Mine and Sillian remained frozen with their mouths open, looking at her.
"She's really from another world..." Sillian spoke, completely out of reality.
"I knew she'd be the best... But a goddess? Amelin is truly too amazing," Mine spoke, her eyes shining with admiration.
"Quiet... Quiet... Students, calm down," Adrwn made a gesture. Closing his hand, standing beside Amelin, he felt the immense energy weighing down on his body, trying to throw him to the ground. "Hahaha, I knew you'd put on a show, but it was truly surprising."
After the professor's speech, the classroom fell into a strange silence for a few seconds until Amelin spoke, "Professor, unlike other classes, how difficult is it to sustain this?"
"Good question. Well, in summary, she spends almost the same amount as a high-class tamer, but in a war, you spend nothing; it's just that you don't have control over the quality, but you have a practically infinite army," Adrwn tapped his chest in his uniform, sighing and continuing, "You should consider yourselves lucky because you've just witnessed something unique in life, and it's unlikely that something of this level will happen again anytime soon."
"You two can return to your seats now, and I'll explain some things about the upcoming classes, and then we'll wrap up," Adrwn spoke, watching Edward and Litty sit at their desks.
"Great, everyone silent, just the way I like it. To start," As Adrwn was about to continue speaking, the door would open, and Michael, with a bandage on his cheek, entered the room.
"Sorry for the delay, Mr. Adrwn. I was discussing yesterday's issue with the principal," Michael spoke, noticing the disdainful glances from several students focused on him.
'Why did that guy want to kill me? And what happened afterward? When I realized it, I was in front of my room door, unconscious,' Michael thought, his left hand trembling, but he covered it with the other to avoid being discovered.
"It looks like everything worked out... Except he should be all healed up by now, I guess... Or maybe it takes a bit for his body to recover," Litty spoke thoughtfully. "At least in this summoning, he should come out fine because there's no way he'd embarrass himself in this, right?" Edward wondered, listening to Litty whistle.
"Litty? What did you do?" Edward asked.
"Hehehe, I'm just messing with you. By now, he should be much stronger in the story; I don't think there'll be any issues. After all, even if he hides his power, the spirits still know his true potential," Litty spoke, remembering all the spirits he had to use dialogue to get them to respect Edward's request.
"As I'm the last one, should I do the test with both? Is it okay to do that?" Michael asked.
"No, none at all. Since you're the last one, there's no reason to control my mana. Just go ahead," Adrwn spoke, nodding to Michael.
Thus, his test took place, and the results were as follows:
"You have the potential to be the king of the dead or even beyond, but currently, you wouldn't even reach the level of a knight."
The summoning looked confused at what had appeared in its hands, saying, "An egg? What would this be, Master Adrwn?"
"Is the summoning confused?" This was the common thought passing among the students.
"It's a spirit egg. Unfortunately, we can't know what will come out of it until it hatches, but this is a rare occurrence. It seems like you're truly a special boy," Adrwn spoke, picking up the egg, which was a meter and a half tall, with one hand and giving it to Michael; even though it was large, it weighed nothing.
"Now, go back to your seat; I have to finish the lesson," Adrwn spoke, returning to his desk.
'A primordial dragon; it seems like the universe wanted to shut my mouth today. Two big events like these in a single day, although the way Michael is, it will take a long time for that egg to hatch,' Adrwn thought, clapping both hands on the desk with such an excited smile that it startled some of the female students.
Thus, the class continued, and because this was a class that heavily taxed the students' spiritual bodies, it ended up being the only one of the day.
As the night arrived, Edward was sprawled on his bed as usual, yawning, with Litty floating above the night fox on his bed provided by the academy.
Edward got up from the bed, yawning. He spoke, "I'm going to take a shower now; keep an eye on Nindia. By the way, you still haven't told me how you managed to get her."
"Huh? Oh, of course, I'll tell you everything after the shower," Litty spoke, immobile in the air.
"This must be the fourth time you've told me that," Edward said, shaking his head in disbelief, and then entering the bathroom.
'How am I going to tell him that I beat up all the spirits until a primordial wolf took me to their leader, who offered herself for this?' Litty began to float around the room with her legs crossed, lost in thought. 'I think he'll just laugh, but what if he finds out that I brought someone who will be ridiculously conspicuous in the future? Hmmmm.'
A few minutes passed, and Edward finished taking his shower, coming out of the bathroom with the towel wrapped around his waist. He spoke, "How could I forget to bring my clothes?"
"Huh??? What are you doing?" Before Edward could finish speaking, Amelin, with a smile on her face, spoke "What do you mean? I came to see you, Edward."
'Damn heroine, what's going on in her head?' Edward thought, letting the towel slip.
"Oh..." That was the reaction from both of them, completely indifferent and yet something that held the power of a nuclear explosion.
This was avoided by Litty, who quickly grabbed the edge of the towel, but ended up seeing something she shouldn't have. "I'm a goddess... I'm a goddess... I'm a goddess..." This phrase was spoken by her and passed through her mind several times.
"Hahaha, it's a good thing your reflexes are great, Edward... After all, if the principal finds out, we wouldn't just be expelled," Amelin spoke so naturally that it only increased Edward's anger.
'If she wanted to talk to me alone, she could have done it during the rest of the day we had,' Edward sighed, holding the towel with his hand, letting Litty, who was dizzy at that moment, fly straight above his head, lying there and staying still.
"So, what did you come to talk to me about?" Edward asked, sitting on his bed.
"This... well, I want to talk to you about my revenge plan," After saying this, Amelin's hair turned black as she sat on the window sill of the room, looking with her eyes emitting a glow that seemed to extend to the sides like some sort of aura. "So, do you accept??"
While this event was happening at the academy, far away from it, in the middle of the Dead Forest, a guy with long grayish hair was lying on the trunk of a tree when he heard footsteps approaching.
"Idan, I'm back! I finally got that plushie I wanted... Oh, and Robert died," A girl with two-colored hair, one strand pink and the other blue, her eyes black, looked at the man in the tree while holding a turtle plushie. She was wearing a brown cloth outfit with small tears at the waist, shoulder, and back.
Idan, his face covered in darkness, spoke, "I warned him not to underestimate the boy, as the client said."
"Robert was always a fool, so this was bound to happen eventually," the girl said, squeezing the plushie tightly.
"But he still deserves a proper burial. Where is his body?" Idan asked.
"Scattered throughout the Red Forest," the girl said, tapping the plushie's head.
"Tell me, how did he die?" Idan asked, seeing the girl's sad expression.
"Goodbye, Robert," After saying this, the girl picked up her turtle plushie and lifted it up.
The turtle's belly sank in, small pieces of foam coming out as it started flying diagonally, rising three meters in the air before bursting, scattering parts of its body all around.
"A single blow? The client wasn't exaggerating after all," Idan said, his voice strangely animated.
"So, what do we do now, Idan?" the girl asked.
"We'll thank him, of course. After all, he showed us the existence of someone really interesting. His name is Michael, right? I'll remember that," Idan said, extending his hand to the girl. "Let's go back to the inn and prepare our things."
