Chapter 25 - Broken Armor

"Why the hell did he barge into my room like that?" Edward spoke, looking around as he walked quickly to the shattered window, which seemed to be gradually returning to its original form. "There's no one outside, so was his killing intent really aimed at me?"

"Stop, stop, stopped," Litty said, floating in front of Edward and waving her arms in denial. "If you do something to him, the situation might only get worse, you know? Then your carefree life will never happen."

"So... Let's just pretend none of this happened and take him to his room," Edward said, walking over to Michael's unconscious body on the floor, freezing for a few seconds. "Why does it seem like he's not breathing?"

"Stop that; he's alive, just unconscious... Must have been the plot armor, hahaha," Litty chuckled nervously, then sighed. "Well, let's do what you said; the way it is, he won't even remember what happened."

"But seriously, what was that?" Edward wondered, holding Michael by the collar of his uniform.

"Isolation and reconstruction magic can be really annoying," a male voice spoke, followed by a crash caused by the entire wall of the room shattering.

"Oh... did you pass out already? I'll have to complain to Idan later; this mission was too boring," the one speaking was a man with black hair and eyes, dressed in a ragged outfit covered by a blue overcoat with a crest on the shoulder, depicting a skull with octopus tentacles coming out of its eyes and surrounding the skull.

"Ah..." Edward looked at the man who had just invaded his room with a blank expression, saying, "Why does the universe hate me so much?"

"Who would you be?" The man spoke, walking slowly towards Edward, almost stepping on him, leaving a mark on the floor.

"Not going to talk? Well, I don't mind either way. Let go of this kid; otherwise, you'll end up having the same fate as him," the air suddenly started to change, and the furniture in the room that wasn't fixed to the floor began to tremble. As if it were an illusion, the head of a huge red dragon appeared behind the man.

"Got it; so that's what happened... Oh, damn," Litty said, grabbing Edward's hair tightly. "Edward, you really destroyed his protagonist moment... Your punch shattered Michael's plot armor."

"Ah, so that's what happened..." Edward let go of Michael's shirt, tossing him to the ground.

"That's right, good boy. Now stay quiet there, and I won't kill you," the guy gave a big smile, moving his fingers, cracking them. 'Maybe I can have some fun before completing this mission.'

Edward sighed, reaching behind his neck, saying, "There's no way; I think I'll have to make you forget all of this."

"Huh? Puff hahahahaha wh—" Before the man finished speaking, he felt the bones of his body trembling in fear seconds before the open palm of Edward touched his stomach.

"If you happen to survive, never return," Edward spoke, just watching with one eye as the man's face distorted due to the impact force, disappearing diagonally from Edward's sight, causing a huge gust of wind that messed up the entire room.

Edward, looking at his hand, saw a bit of blood and immediately thought of a horrific scene of red rain. "Maybe I overdid it a bit."

Litty blinked in astonishment, unable to think of anything to say. Meanwhile, outside the building next door, a person was heading towards his room when they saw everything happen. Without Edward realizing it, he had successfully completed the event that would start this story, the real story, with a single difference: the character who killed the first villain.

"But Edward, what do we do now?" Litty asked.

"Well? We'll just take him to his room as we planned," Edward spoke so naturally, even after what just happened, that Litty just gave up and decided to leave this topic for when they return to the room.
