Chapter 20 - Black Bullet (1)

'What the hell happened? I'm sure of what I saw; that boy wasn't supposed to be so weak.' Kadia thought, starting to hear murmurs from the other students, most of them mocking Michael.

Kadia stomped on the ground, grabbing the attention of the students who immediately fell silent. "Get back to training and stop wasting time. I'll take him to the infirmary and be back shortly."

'So he really has potential but hasn't even reached his initial phase... Now I understand why the teachers had a meeting tonight.' Kadia, holding Michael's right arm, pulled him up and threw him over her shoulder.

"What are you doing? Why aren't you doing what I said?" Kadia said, looking at the students who turned around and started swinging their swords and exchanging blows.

"The teacher is hiding something," Sillian said, watching the teacher leave the area.

"Who cares about that? They might be thinking about his potential, but if he hasn't done anything so far, I don't see a reason to continue this," Amelin said, picking up the sword she threw on the ground and touching Mine's shoulder. "Let's just ignore it and change our pairs now."

This reached Sillian's ears, making her smile and cross her arms. With her hand on her chin, she said, "You're right; there's no reason to dwell on a noble who only has appearance."

'I can't say that, but you did great, Amelin,' Sillian thought while her nose twitched a bit.

"Uh... Could I train with Edward now?" Mine spoke in a low tone, audible only to Edward and Amelin.

'So he caught her attention too?' Amelin lowered her arm and walked past Mine, saying, "If you want, better say it out loud because I won't change something I've already decided."

Amelin walked a few meters, reminiscing about Mine's family while thinking, 'She's reverting to her original fragile state... I need to give her something to forget these restraints again.'

"Why did I get involved in the drama of some heroines already... I'm starting to think you really made me the protagonist..." Edward spoke, looking steadily at Mine, clenching his fists tightly, and turning to walk towards Amelin.

"What are you talking about? It's impossible; that time was just a joke. I'm sure you're not the protagonist," Litty spoke with a small nervous laugh, thinking, 'Did I make a mistake again? What if Michael is actually the antagonist? I'll surely turn to dust, and I've talked to Edward again.'

"No, I'm sure of what I saw. Edward is not one of the main characters," Litty accidentally let slip, freezing the moment she realized.

"Hahaha, it's good that you're sure of that; otherwise, I couldn't change my original plan," Edward spoke, feeling Sillian's touch on his left arm.

"So what are you doing?" Edward asked, seeing Sillian's curious expression as she touched his arm with her fingers.

"Huh?" Sillian stopped immediately, jumping back, taking her finger to a strand of hair, and starting to twirl it. "After what Mine said, and you being silent, my eyes slipped to your arm... You know, they're quite muscular for someone our age."

'Oh no... This is getting increasingly difficult,' Edward thought, hearing Litty's small laugh.

"You see, my family is very strict about training, and I got excited too, but even so, I'm far from someone like you, Sillian," Edward spoke, seeing Sillian's eyes widen with a smile.

"I understand, so that's it... Well, I don't see that as true, at least not until I verify it. So let's train before those two find out and tell the teacher," Sillian said, spinning the sword in her hand and preparing directly, pointing it directly at Edward's neck

Edward held the tip of the sword with his hand, jumping to the side while pulling it, hitting Sillian on top of the head with the sword, saying, "Maybe you're right; after all, you're very distracted."

"You think that in a real battle, the sword would be just an ornament for me," Sillian said, her hand touching Edward's stomach directly. "You would already be split into various parts by now, hehehe."

"But this is a sword fighting training, so I won," Edward said, raising and hitting Sillian on the head again with the sword.

'I don't understand anything... What is Edward doing now?' Litty thought, lying down. 'At least he seems to be better now, ignoring the existence of these ants.'

"Not satisfied with talking to Amelin, now you're hitting on Sillian," this was one of the topics among the other students who looked at Edward.

After that, the classes continued, and when they arrived at the classroom, they saw a simple empty place with gray walls and ceilings, only with the teacher, a wizard wearing a uniform similar to Adrwnr's. His eyes were brown, and his hair was purple.

"All right, today we'll learn about dark magic, and just like the last class, I'll see your abilities first, so pay attention. I'll teach you the easiest magic, the black bullet." The teacher raised his finger and pointed to an empty space. "That wall seems close, but in reality..."

Moving so quickly that almost no one could see, except for Edward, Amelin, and three other students, a black sphere formed in the professor's palm. From it, a black line extended, reaching the tip of his finger, creating and firing a pure black mass.

Three seconds later, a hand made of a black substance descended from the ceiling, bringing ten papers with drawn targets, and all of them had a hole right in the center. "A perfect ten. It seems I'll have to extend this room a bit more now."
