Chapter 16 - Three

At that moment, after hearing what Amelin said, both Edward's and Litty's heads were filled with question marks. The main heroine was in front of them, asking to join the group of a mere potential seven, as far as she knows.

'What the hell did I do to get her attention?' Edward thought, looking at Amelin, waiting for her response. "I can accept that, but why do you want this? I'm just someone with potential seven."

"It's simple. This is the only decent and comfortable place I can stay," Amelin extended her hand to Edward, speaking again. "So, can I join your group?"

Edward sighed, shaking Amelin's hand. "Next time, pay attention to the atmosphere. What's comfortable for you isn't the same for me."

"This bastard... How dare he get so close to her?"

"A nobody, what kind of trick is he using?"

"I don't even know his family name, and he dares to talk to her so casually."

Amelin saw all the various students' gazes focused directly on Edward. The noise of some teeth grinding was heard, and turning back to her apathetic expression, she spoke loudly, enhancing her voice with mana. "I understand. It'll be like this. Don't worry; they won't dare do anything more than fantasize in their own minds."

'The looks still continue... but the fear is evident in them. I had forgotten how good that feels.' Edward thought, starting to feel small taps on his forehead.

"Hey, hey, you're making a scary smile. If it weren't for me, you'd already be in trouble," Litty said, seeing Edward's smile disappear.

"Thank you very much. I hope you can achieve good results again," Edward said, seeing a faint smile from Amelin.

"You don't have to do that; you can act the same as before. That's what makes him comfortable," Amelin said, with her hands on her hips, positioning herself beside Edward.

"Oh! It looks like ignoring her is what made her come after you. Haha, it's like a romantic comedy," Litty said with a malevolent smile, upside down, holding onto his hair while being in front of Edward's left eye.

"What are you fantasizing about now? Did you forget about the existence of the protagonist? She's just a difficult person; can't you see how she acts?" Edward spoke, feeling a slight chill down his spine seconds before another female voice was heard.

"There you are, Miss Amelin," Sillian said with a big smile on her face, something entirely different from what she had shown the day before. "If this is the group you're in, Edward, does that mean it's the best? If I saw correctly, the group is yours, right? So, can I join?"

"What happened to her? Seems like she had 50 cups of coffee," Litty spoke curiously.

"So..." Before Edward could respond, Sillian was already positioned on his left side, placing him between the two girls.

"Even the smell here is a bit better than the others. I guess they don't bathe properly and still call themselves nobles," Sillian said, crossing her arms and shaking her head in disappointment.

"Now that you mention it, the smell here is indeed a bit better than around," Amelin said, intrigued, starting to think about it.

The grinding of hardened teeth and an immense thirst for blood focused directly on Edward, with a large portion of the students thinking and cursing him.

However, for Edward at this moment, it was nothing more than a buzzing fly in his ear, being completely ignored because in his head, they were just thinking, ' What the hell are they talking about? Smell? What smell? '

"Hehehe, looks like you lost control of the situation, huh? That's what happens when you're just a supporting character," Litty teased, floating around Edward.

In the state Edward was in, he felt someone tug at the sleeve of his uniform, and that person was Mine. With a somewhat disheartened expression, she said, "Can I join your group?"

Amelin looked around, seeing that almost all the groups had formed, and this made her clench her fist.

'Did yesterday's situation suffice for everyone to exclude her? These nobles really must have a pea-sized brain,' Edward thought, with his hand behind his neck as he said, "Well, your friend is already here, so welcome."

"Thank you..." That was the only thing Mine said before quickly positioning herself beside Amelin.

"Did I make a mistake when reincarnating you and turned you into the protagonist?" Litty said this seriously, but Edward realized she was just provoking him again.

"But honestly, what the hell is this jerk doing to make this happen?" Edward said, looking around for the protagonist until he found him a few seconds later.

Michael was surrounded by girls, a total of nine, all around, creating a barricade with him in the center.

"What a scoundrel," Litty said, indignant.

"So, that's why there were so many jealous guys... damn, just because they saw his potential result yesterday, they threw all their anger at me..." Edward said, sighing and tilting his head backward.

"Hehe, did you make the wrong choice? Should you have shown how strong you are?" Litty said, sitting on Edward's forehead.

"No... those guys will surely find a way to cause trouble, which will be bad for me too, after all, these three are with me," Edward said, thinking about some situations he might get dragged into. "Maybe I should just burn all these mosquitoes."

While Edward said this, some boys and girls without groups began to approach his group, only to be scared away by a deadly look from Sillian.

"All right, everyone, now that you've formed groups, let's move on to the first lesson. All groups with more than four members decide who will stay and who will leave until only four remain... meanwhile, those who already have groups of four, come with me," Kadia said, turning her back and starting to run, leaving all the students behind.
