"Hehe!" the two female servants chuckled while staring at Yang Chunqiu's satisfied outburst. It appears they're not surprised by the sudden change in his attitude.
Instead, they're more or less pressured by the strict, quiet image he displayed earlier.
"See, I told you..." one of the female servants whispered to another servant standing beside her. "Our third young master always returned to his rowdy and loud image as soon he had his belly filled." she said without controlling the volume of her whispers.
"Ahem!" the nanny coughed gently before staring at the two female servants, reminding them to tone down and behave before things go wrong.
After all, it is considered untaught if the servants openly talk about the bad habits of their masters. Even if this was the property of the Yang Chunqiu, that does not permit them to display such disrespect.
"Nanny, I remembered you mentioned that I collapsed after drinking the alcohol brewed by the Burning Spirit Sect... What actually happened?" feeling it was the right time to ask, Yang Chunqiu casually threw a question out to the nanny.
It would appear like he was trying to make a quick save for two female servants before they got scolded by the nanny for misbehaving.
"Aii... Look at how terrible the wine those half-rated disciples from Burning Spirit Sect made... Even our third young master is not right on his head. Lanhwa, get a bowl of hangover soup for the young master from the kitchen." the nanny obviously notices what Yang Chunqiu is trying to do.
(Author's Note: Lan-Hwa = Orchid Flower)
Since it doesn't seem to spoil the female servants much to be a bit lenient on them, the nanny decides to go along with Yang Chunqiu's whim, unaware that she had misunderstood his intention.
Yang Chunqiu simply sees that as an opportunity to ask a question. And since he had no idea how the house rules work here, he obviously wouldn't recklessly get in the way of disciplining or teaching the servants.
"That was something about five days ago..." the nanny explains after the female servant called Lanhwa left...
Apparently, Yang Chunqiu came across a few disciples in their Burning Spirit Sect's uniform while leaving the drinking tavern he visits frequently. Because he was slightly intoxicated at that time, Yang Chunqiu gave the disciples a Pure Gold Ingot to buy all the alcohol from their hands.
Obviously, Yang Chunqiu's drinking session continued after he got home with the ten jars of wine from the Burning Spirit Sect's disciples. And that was where the memory of this realm's Yang Chunqiu got cut off and replaced with the current Yang Chunqiu.
Yang Chunqiu then asked if he had overpaid for the wine to avoid looking suspicious before the nanny.
This was also how he got to know how the money works here, along with a small explanation of his background. From what he heard from the nanny, this was one of the several Yang Household properties in this Northern Yuan Country, also known as the Yuanling City's Yang Family's Seven-Courtyard Manor.
The Yuanling City was located at the fifth circle of the Northern Yuan Country, approximately five thousand miles away from the country's capital.
Altogether, the country had five circles, with the capital at its core, six cities in each circle, and another city close to its border. This means there are 32 cities in this Northern Yuan Country alone.
"That means... I gave a gold ingot to the disciple just because I hardly travel outside with spare change? And to make it worst, I got knocked out by the alcohol they sold me?" Yang Chunqiu almost couldn't believe what he heard.
Just because of a simple reason like he had no spare change, he actually bought ten jars of wine, which caused him alcohol poisoning, with the price of ten-thousandfold.
(Author's Note: 1 x pure Gold Ingot equals 100 Silver Ingots, and 1 x silver ingot is worth 100 Copper Coins.)
"Young master, please drink this hangover soup while it is still warm," Lanhwa returned with a bowl by the time the nanny finished answering his questions. The vapor from the soup was filled with the smell of medicinal herbs, such as ginseng, licorice, hawthorn, ginger, and wolfberries.
Yang Chunqiu hesitated for a moment but drank it without too much of a thought.
"Do you feel much better now," the nanny asked.
"Yes," Yang Chunqiu replied. The soup appears slightly bitter from its brownish color but tastes sweeter than expected.
"Should I get housekeeper Liang to prepare the horse for you? It's about time you go to the Spring Autumn Treasures Pavilion. Please remember that regardless of how lazy you want to be, managing the Yang Household's business in this Yuanling City is still your part of responsibility." said the nanny.
"Spring Autumn Treasures Pavilion? What do I have to do there? I thought I just sobered up..." Yang Chunqiu replied. The sudden arrival of another new topic made him wonder what other responsibility he had.
Yang Chunqiu might not be an avid reader of fantasy-related novels or a historical drama addict. Still, from shallow knowledge, most of those main leads had nothing much to do except cultivate, enjoy their life, practice martial arts, and build their own harem.
"Your attendance is obviously necessary in the Spring Autumn Treasures Pavilion. You're the representative from the Yang Family Main House, after all. Besides managing and making business decisions, you're also responsible for collecting treasures to be delivered back to the Capital's Main House." the nanny added.
"Aargh... I thought I could enjoy my day leisurely and practice or cultivate... Who would thinks that I still had to work here..." Yang Chunqiu whispered to himself.
"Cultivate, young master? You must be joking." the nanny shook her head while responding to Yang Chunqiu's sentence.
"Why? What's wrong?" curious, Yang Chunqiu asked.
"Everyone in this Manor knew you're born with a Broken Meridian Physique. How come you suddenly had the urge to cultivate, knowing that nothing would happen even if you try?" she added.
