Chapter 1 - YOU DON'T HAVE A SAY.

A maid rushes into Amelia's room, forgetting to knock, her face was filled with urgency. She informs Amelia that her father wants to speak with her immediately and left quuckly without giving Amelia a chance to respond to the message or complain about her behavior. Amelia's heart pounds in her chest as she realizes the seriousness of the situation. With a mix of anticipation and anxiety, she gets up and opens her door, making her way to her father's office.

Getting to his office, she knocked on the closed door. She hears her father's stern voice calling her into his office. She enters, feeling a mix of apprehension and curiosity.

Amelia stands before her father, feeling a whirlwind of emotions. He sternly discusses the impending marriage and the importance of the alliance it will bring. Amelia's face displays a range of emotions, from shock to sadness, as she realizes the weight of her father's expectations. She listens silently, her heart sinking with each word.

Her father wastes no time and begins lecturing her about not disgracing him and the importance of her upcoming marriage to Prince Karl. Their conversation is filled with tension and demands, with Amelia feeling trapped and overwhelmed.

Although Amelia knew from a young age that this was her use and purpose as her fathers daughter, this was what she has been trained for her whole life, she wasn't happy with this arrangement.

King Christopher: "Amelia, this alliance is crucial for our family's future. You must understand the importance."

Amelia: "But Father, what about my own happiness? Shouldn't that matter too?" She asked him, voicing her thoughts for the first time in her life.

King Christopher: "Your happiness will come from fulfilling your duties and securing our family's legacy."

Amelia: "But I want a say in my own future! I want to marry for love, not just for politics."

King Christopher: "Love is a luxury we can't afford, Amelia. You must put the family's interests first. You don't have a choice." He replied sternly, leaving no room for arguments.

Amelia knew that this would be the outcome, but she wanted to try. She looked at him and answered "I understand Father."

King Christopher: "Think about the bigger picture, Amelia. You have a responsibility to our name. And that is why I saw to it that you were trained properly for this. You have no say here Amelia." He said making sure his daughter got the message clear.

Amelia: "Yes father, I won't let you down." She replied as she has been taught to for years. Like a puppet, like a robot with no emotions, that can be used and controlled without having a say in her life choices.

King Christopher: "You can leave".

After the conversation, Amelia leaves her father's office, tears streaming down her face. She retreats to her room, feeling a wave of despair wash over her. She questions her fate and the life that has been chosen for her. In her solitude, she sheds tears of frustration and sadness, feeling trapped in a world where her worth is determined by her marriage. "It's happening, I'll be married to a vampire. What will he do to me? Will he feed on me the rest of his life? I don't even know what he looks like. How do I marry someone I don't know and have zero feelings for?" She asked herself weeping bitterly.

Just when Amelia feels like she can't bear it any longer, her mother enters the room, sensing her daughter's distress. They have a heartfelt conversation filled with understanding and empathy. Amelia's mother reassures her that she has the strength to face the challenges ahead.

Queen Lily: "Amelia you will be fine."

Princess Amelia:"Are you sure? Mom, I'd be married off to someone I don't know very soon."

Queen Lily: "And the same thing happened to me. I didn't know your dad, but look at how it turned out. I have you and your brother."

Princess Amelia: "Yours is different. At least dad is human but the man I am to marry is a vampire, they feed off humans!"

She reminded her mother.

Queen Lily: "I understand your fears and I wish there is a way to talk your father out of it but there isn't. This is the fate we face. we don't have a say. You'll be fine, just go with the flow. This is the only thing I can say to you."

Princess Amelia: "Thank you mom."

Amelia hugs her mom and she leaves.

As her mother leaves, Amelia looks at herself in the mirror, taking a moment of self-reflection. She gazes into her own eyes, determined to face her fate head-on. Giving herself a pep talk, she vowed to make the best out of her worst fate.

"I can do this, I just need to marry him, love him, have kids and take care of them. Yeah that's it." She said to herself nodding her head.

With newfound resolve, she prepares herself for the day ahead, ready to face her fate head-on. She went to bed that night telling herself not to worry about the future.

"Don't worry about the future, do not worry about tomorrow Amelia, let the future, let tomorrow worry about itself. Everything will be fine." She said to herself. "Just go with the flow." She said reminding herself of her mother's word. She took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. And with that, she dozed off.
