Chapter 3 - And They Come

DAY 1

-Manual-

*BANG!*

A loud bursting swarm of metal BBs shredded through the horde. Bloody chunks rained all over the walls and floor of the hallway.

*Pump! BANG! Pump! BANG!*

The horde is no more than a pile of bloody chunks. He continues forward with a dead stead of determination. Manuel charges into the hallway where more of the horde of monsters we're waiting for him. He aimed and pumped the gun again.

*BANG! Pump. BANG! Pump. BANG!*

Manual had full confidence that Jessica will be safe. He'll meet up with her after he's done with his massacre.

*Pump. BANG! Pump. BANG!*

Bodies were falling, heads were exploding, and blood Splattered. He pulled the trigger again, but nothing. The Shotgun was empty, and he started reloading one shell at a time. From behind, one of the monsters snuck up on him. It was too late before he noticed. He let go of the shotgun handle, and reached underneath his arm to unholster the Glock 19. He pulled it out and pointed at the monster behind him.

*PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA!*

He pushed aside the monster's corpse, and holstered the Glock. With the horde creeping up in front of him. He pumped the shotgun with the few shell's he loaded in. He aimed at the horde and pulled the trigger.

*BANG! Pump! BANG! Pump! BANG! Pump! BANG!*

He mowed down the horde into a pair of two. The shotgun was empty again, but instead of reloading, he upholstered the Glock 19, and continued his massacre.

*PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA!*

-Jessica-

*BANG!*

She moves away from the glass backyard sliding door as she hears the shotgun blast. Noises of groaning, moaning, and loud shuffling of footsteps came from the other side of the sliding doors.

'The Sound is Luring them away. Dad, please Get to the car safely.' she thought. She moves away from the sliding doors and makes her way to the Side door to the garage. The house layout Was like this, north was the driveway and the front door. South was the backyard, and on the west side of the house Is a connected large garage, which could hold up to two cars as there were two garage doors. On the far west of the house is the side door that leads into the garage where the Tesla is. The wind vehicle that can be able to get to and can get out of here with.

Jessica makes her way to the side door but thankfully that there was a fence blocking off to the front of the house. Because on the other side of the fence was a horde of monsters, it was like a crowd from a metal concert. It seems like there are hundreds of them all spread out through the driveway and the lawn. And it seems like that the most condensed pack of the crowd were at the front door.

'They're trying to get in! Must've heard the blast of the shotgun too!'

*PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA!*

Gunfire continued to come from up stairs loudly. 'They are attracted to noise! They are similar to the movies! So I just need to be quiet! Don't be stupid! And hopefully they are just slow! But I cannot let them get near me.' She then sigh, Inhaling an exhaling, Preparing for what to come.

'Get to Tesla. Turn it on. And wait for Dad.' She held the door knob, And Finish up her inner self peptalk. "Ok, let's do this." Then with quiet suppress war cry. She opened the door. "Leeeeeeerrroooooy Jenkins!"

And to reveal that there was nobody in the garage. The awkward silence of her little war cry was the most relieving thing She would ever thank for. She took a good look around the area, both garage doors we're closed. And the front door was also closed. What was left were the workbenches, metallic drawers, and different car repair equipments all around. And there, like the golden idol from Indiana Jones, Is the sparkling white silver Tesla.

She sigh in relief, thankful that non of the monsters where here. "Thank you!" She then approaches the vehicle. On the passenger side she pressed on the the outline surface that looks similar to a handle. once press the door lift up as the hinges were connected to the roof. It was like entering into a DeLorean in all the movies, the best more faster than the real thing.

She boarded the vehicle and pulled down the door close. She then turn on the car. But the engine in battery were on as the touchpad in her face welcome any passenger with this typical corporate intro of the vehicle. Jessica was safe, The car is ready to be drive off. And now she waits for her father to come back. And finish with some unfinished business.

-Manuel-

*PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, PECK-KA, CLICK!*

The last remaining monsters were finally put down, the hall now painted in a coat of red. Manuel Lean up against the wall and look down and see that the slide of the Glock popped back, empty of ammunition. From his shoulder holster he pulled out one of the attached magazines on the straps. He unloaded the empty magazine out of the Glock and replaced it with the full one, now loaded. He slid it back into his holster on his side and turned his focus on the shotgun continuing to reload it ,shell by shell. Within 2 minutes he reloaded all eight shells. He pumped it one last time to place an extra shell just in case. He was ready to continue his march. On through the puddles of blood.

He made out of the hallway and into the entry hall. He looked over the balcony and looked at the first floor to see that the front door has been broken down. Letting in the outdoor strays into his house. If the hallway was a small group of them then this was the largest horde, because he could not see the floor of the building. It was nothing but a sea of crowded monsters. Growling screaming the remaining words that they died with.

"Aaahhhuuuu, Hhhhaaaallpuuuu Mmmeeeeee!!?"

"Uuuuuhhhh. Ggguuuuooooddduuu wwwhhuueee saaannderrrrruuuu!!!?"

"Goouud! Gaaaaaad! Wuaeee!? Wuuaee mmmeeee!?"

Manuel was deeply disturbed. Hearing that some of these monsters are rambling the last things they might have said or are they really learning to speak? Out of all the horror movies he had seen, he never heard of any undead zombie-like creatures talking except in that weird romance one that his wife liked strangely enough? But these things are trying to get to him. To eat him and his daughter, that eat his wife. They may have transformed or made his beloved be one of them. The thought of her. 'Her. Being one of them was unimaginably painful.' Manual folded his hands into fists gripping them tightly, in rageful frustration.

"BLOOD! WARM! WARM BEATING BLOOD!"

One of the monsters was closely approaching from the stairway, he took notice of them knocking him out of his rageful daydream. And behind the following monster was more as they covered the stairway up to the second floor.

With no way of going down to the first floor he had to take a second option that he didn't think of but acted anyway. He retreated back into the hallway. The monsters were following up behind him with a quick walking paste.

At the end of the hallway was a window that led outside on top of the roof of the garage. Manual made it to the window and tried to open it at first but it was jammed. With the bloodthirsty monsters approaching terrifyingly quickly. He held up his shotgun and rammed the stock at the glass. With the first hit, the glass was covered in a spider web of cracks. With the second hit he busted through. Jumping out with ease, escaping the horde and a dead end.

Slaying down the diagonal roof side. He embraced her landing and fell off the roof and landed in a roll on the concrete driveway. "Auu, okay. That was reckless of me, Ahh-uh." When he set up he realized that he was in the front driveway. And horrifyingly, he can see a large swarm of the monsters crammed up in front of his front door. The realization of how much he was facing down in the house was spine chilling. He regrets acting on his emotions of rage, but he hopes that his now deceased wife is truly at peace.

The horde hasn't noticed him, not a single one of them has. Until, he looked back up at the window on the second floor, and saw that one of the monsters was able to make its way out of the window tumbling down. He could hear it gargling as it rolled. Then fall head first to the concrete, its head collapsed in like a squishing pumpkin in a hippo's mouth.

That's when the horde noticed him, every single One of these monsters their eyes of black and red covered in blood. Once one starts moving they all move like a sea rushing up against him like a crushing wave.

Manuel got up on his own two feet, grabbed the shotgun and ran out towards the garage door closed. With the stock of the shotgun he hit it up against the door with a metallic slam. He repeatedly slammed the stock on the garage door, he started yelling to Jessica inside. "JESSICA!!! OPEN THE DOOR, HURRY!!!"

They were coming closer and closer to him, as they were walking at a slow pace. There is no way out. No way around them. They all move as one body of liquid, filling in every corner with no escape. With the last remaining of the shells in the shotgun, Manual pumped the shotgun and took aim. The monsters that were getting up on their feet standing before him.

*BANG! Pump. BANG! Pump. BANG! Pump. BANG! Pump. BANG! Pump. BANG!*

Swarms of metallic BBs shredded through the monsters that were once human.
