Chapter 23 - Whisper is a Wrathful God

"So, this is where you have gone, Ram's daughter." Whisper said to himself as he found himself in the bailey of the capital of the Amalyan Empire. He surveyed all before him. The walls and ground were a mess with cracks and broken tiles. It felt like whatever had come through here had localized the damage to this area. He saw a large hole through one side of the wall, which he could tell didn't belong there. Even the cracks in the stairs leading to the city was something he could tell had been recently done. He could feel so many souls inside the city. It was very crowded. A slow deliberate smirk came across his face.

He walked slowly towards the center of the bailey.

The alarms blared out. An announcement sounded over the intercom. "Red alert! Red alert! Enemy sighted in the main bailey!"

"Heh." Whisper laughed to himself. "Looks like Hered's spawn has noticed me." The smile grew upon his face. "Good. This will make what I was going to do that much easier." He stopped once he reached the center of the bailey.

Instantly, guards rushed from the main gates and surrounded him. Their rifles were pointed towards him with the training of precision. The Amali did not amass an empire by diplomacy alone.

Whisper's hands remained at his sides. He felt the calmest he had felt in a while. Unholy dust. Black dust began to surround him. Yog is good for this at least. The dust began to swirl around.

 The guards opened fire.

The dust hardened into a shield that completely encompassed Whisper. "Not going to be so easy." His voice came from inside. "Dust Spear!" He waited a moment. "Slicing Wind." Again, he waited. The wall of dust crumbled and shards of light began to enter. He could finally see himself and the world around him. Laughter slowly erupted from his lips. When the dust had receded to his feet, he observed his handiwork.

Dead guards lay everywhere. Those that weren't dead were on the ground barely moving. The alarms were louder than before.

"If this doesn't bring her here, nothing will."
