After the old steward helped Louis get back on the bed, he sat beside him and began narrating.
"After your parents were killed and the immortal blood-shattering seal was put on you, we truly believed the end of the Ark family was near. But it seems Lord Yaka has not forsaken us!" the old steward said with renewed passion. He acted as if Sol moving alone was a miracle, something unexpected.
"Can you explain what is going on?" Louis asked. If he plans to survive in this world, he needs to understand what is happening. Especially since it concerns the people he is meant to rule.
"It seems the rumors that the seal affects the memory of the victim is true." The old steward said calmly, but his hand was clenched tight as if he was trying to restrain his anger.
How dare they do this to the young master of the Ark family?
If the chieftain was still alive, would they dare to act so recklessly?
"I don't know how to say this, Young master, but your father was framed by one of the heads of the other families if not all of them. That I am certain of." The old steward began. "That night Bashomon began to open, and the universe began to crumble, but somehow the other families were slow to react. Your father and mother rushed to the scene and used most of their strength to seal the gate" The old steward paused.
"And then what?" Louis asked.
"And then the family heads of the other alpha races arrived. They accused your parents of plotting to open the gates of Bashomon and executed them on the spot." The old steward said with a frown. "For their crimes, their names have been removed from all the records of Aetheria. Just speaking their name is considered a taboo. They intend to have them forgotten."
The story was simple but had a lot of loopholes, leaving Louis with so many questions.
"Did my parents offend anyone before the event that night?" Sol asked, and the old steward nodded.
"Aetheria has many laws, and one of them forbids two members from different alpha races from having any form of intimate relationship. Talk more of getting married." The old steward said with a deep frown before looking at Sol. "You are the product of a union of the Ark family patriarch and the daughter of the Matriarch of the Witch Coven."
Hearing this, Louis began to understand the situation of the Ark family Patriarch before his death.
"The other three alpha tribe families kicked against the union fiercely, but your father was strong. The strongest of them all." The old steward said in a more prideful tone. "He broke all the laws and married your mother, and no one could do anything about it."
"Well, they did something about it. He is dead now." Louis said in an unimpressed tone.
After his time on earth, he finally understood the dangers of standing in the spotlight. The actions of the Ark family patriarch put him in everyone's sights, and when they got the opportunity they put him down.
"Don't talk like that, young master." The old steward knew Sol was right, but he felt pained by his words regardless.
"The seal put on me. What is the story behind that?" Louis ignored his pleas and continued with his questions.
"After your parents were killed, you were the next target of the alpha races. They claimed you were an abomination and demanded to have you killed, but the Ark family stood together and rejected this." The old steward said with rage in his eyes. "Unwilling to go to war with us, they came up with a solution."
"They offered to put the Immortal blood-shattering seal on you to suppress your witch bloodline. But such a seal can leave even an alpha race leader weakened. Using it on a child would definitely do more harm." The old steward continued.
"We were faced with two choices. Have the seal placed on you or have the entire Ark family wiped out…" The old steward's voice trailed off, unwilling to continue.
"And you chose me. Good choice, at least some of you here have a brain." Louis said calmly.
His response came as a shock, leaving the old steward wondering when the young master matured this much.
"When was the seal put on me?" Louis asked.
"A Year ago." The old steward answered hastily. "It left you crippled at first, and a month after that you fell into a comma. You have been asleep ever since then until now." He added, and Louis nodded.
The owner of this body must have died the moment before his soul came in. Louis shut his eyes as he pondered on all the information received so far. From everything he has been told, it's clear to him that his soul has been transmigrated into the body of the most hated individual in this world.
"Why didn't the three families just wipe out ours?" Louis asked. "To be able to negotiate with them, you need leverage. What kind of leverage do we have over them?"
Since the leader of the Ark family was already dead, he saw no reason for them to negotiate. He would have wiped out the Ark family without a second thought if he was in their position. Rather than letting them live and risk the possibility of them trying to avenge their dead patriarch in the future.
"Your father has a brother. Someone who is even more powerful. At some point, everyone believed he was the right man to lead the family." the old steward said with a bitter smile.
"Who? Where is he?" Louis asked with a frown.
"He has been gone for two decades now, traveling. He is the kind of man that doesn't like to be held down by duty." The old steward said with a strange look on his face. "Before your father died, he sent a message out to his brother, asking him to return. That is why they dare not touch our family, or there will nothing be left of the three alpha races when he returns."
Louis on the other hand was shaken by his words. To think the three families were so terrified by someone who wasn't even present. Just how powerful is this man?
"Give me a name!" Louis asked with a deep frown on his face.
"Darth Ark."
'The fuck? His name literally means Dark lord!' Sol couldn't help but scream in his head.
