"Ah!"
Sol let out a groan as he rubbed his head as he opened his eyes. He felt like someone had been bashing his skull with a sledgehammer.
"What the hell happened?"
Ding.
[The host attempted to resist the intense emotions hidden in the subconscious of this body, and in return, the body fought back. If you had stayed awake long enough to resist more, the body probably would have shut down permanently, so the system had no other choice, but to shut you down first]
Seeing this, Sol was taken aback, by the fact that the system could respond to his questions and also by the information revealed.
"Is that even possible?" Sol asked. "How can the dead react to mere words?"
Ding.
[Sol died not because he was too weak to survive the effects of the seal, but because he regretted not being able to protect his parents, who meant the world to him. While he may be dead, his Will remains stored away in his subconscious. Rather than stand and do nothing while his parents are slandered, he would rather die a second time]
Hearing this, Sol was shaken. Back on earth, he has heard stories about ghosts and basically, these are spirits of those who have unfinished business on earth. The intense desire to accomplish that task traps their souls on earth and ties them down to that specific spot or goal.
At this moment, Sol felt disappointed in himself. If the case was reversed and his parents on earth suffered the same fate as that of Sol, he wouldn't hesitate to kill hundreds just to avenge them. Yet he was depriving this body of the chance to defend its family.
'I am selfish…' he admitted in his mind
"That old hag, I will take her life," Sol said with a murderous look on his face.
At that moment, gentle knocks could be heard on the door, followed by the aged voice of his steward.
"Young master, may I come in?"
"Yes," Sol responded dryly, and the door gently opened.
Walking in the old steward looked anxious and worried, this reminded Sol of his time on earth when his employees would approach him nervously, unsure of how to break the bad news to him.
"Young master, how do you feel?" the old steward asked.
Sol remained silent for a few seconds before responding.
"Don't worry, my health has nothing to do with what happened earlier today," Sol said in a firm tone as he peered deep into the old butler's eyes. Seeing the lack of surprise on the face of the old steward, he was certain the news had already reached his ears.
" Now, it's my turn to ask a question." Sol said, his tone firm as if he was about to interrogate someone.
His words made the old butler flinch, leaving Sol shocked. He has seen the old butler reveal many emotions during his short stay in this world, but never has he been this nervous before.
"Y-young Master, what do you wish to know?" The old butler asked, avoiding eye contact.
"Why are you so flustered?" Sol asked with a raised eyebrow.
Hearing this, the Butler frowned and lowered his head in shame. He seemed to hesitate for a moment before speaking.
"Word of today's event reached the ears of the Kahi'k and elders of the Ark family. They are demanding a meeting with you as we speak!" The old butler said in a grave tone.
"Kahi'k? Who is that?" a look of confusion was etched on Sol's face as he asked the question.
Thankfully, the old butler assumed Sol couldn't remember anything due to the seal, so he was always happy to explain things.
"The Kahi'k is essentially the second in command in the Ark family. The great general of our forces and the personal guard of the Patriarch and his family." the old butler explained.
"Then why is he alive when my father is dead?" Sol's gaze turned cold. " If he is what you said he is, he should have been the first to fall before my father and my mother." He added in an icy tone.
"This…" The old butler muttered with a hesitant look in his eyes. "Your father asked him to stay back and protect you the night it happened."
"And yet he stood aside and watched them place a dangerous seal on me?" Sol asked with a raised eyebrow. "Have a meeting arranged as soon as possible. Some questions must be answered!" Sol declared in a cold tone.
But at that moment something unexpected happened. A cold and overbearing voice boomed from outside the door.
"That won't be necessary, my prince, the meeting will be taking place now!"
Bam.
The doors of the room swung open as a huge figure walked in, followed by four scrawny-looking figures chasing after him. The man was about 6.7 feet tall with a muscular build, his fine gray hair was neatly gelled back, and his brown robes could not hide the muscles hidden underneath.
Considering the color of his hair and the subtle wrinkles here and there, Sol assumed this man was past his prime and declining in age yet his body and aura seemed to be bubbling with vitality. Comparing him to the image of his father which he saw in the vision, Sol could easily consider this man far more terrifying.
As he walked in, the atmosphere in the room turned tense as everyone waited for Sol to get intimidated and shaken up by the presence of this man, but what he said left everyone dumbfounded.
"I don't remember saying you can come in." Sol sneered disdainfully. "Or has the Kahi'k forgotten who he serves?"
Buzz.
The room was shaken by Sol's words, and even the Kahi'k was left dumbfounded. The Sol he remembered would always hide behind the deceased patriarch whenever he came around, but right now this boy was looking deep into his eyes, unshaken by his size or presence!
"YOU LITTLE…" the Kahi'k was cut off before he could finish talking.
"Silence!" Sol growled in fury. "I DON'T REMEMBER SAYING YOU CAN SPEAK!"
