Elena's P.O.V
The room felt smaller with every passing second, the walls closing in on me as I grappled with the desperate need to know about my sister's condition.
When Vincent had spoken about my fate in the courtyard, about how a hunter needs a guild to live on, at first I hadn't paid his words much heed. Bust as the minutes dragged on, insecurities and doubts clouded my mind, each one a painful reminder of the uncertainty that clouded mine and my sister's fate.
My mind raced, a chaotic symphony of worry and fear, but a glimmer of hope flickered within. If Lucien had somehow learned the truth behind why I attempted to eliminate the Lycan king, maybe he would understand and, just maybe, find a way to forgive me but how could I even approach him? How could I make him see that I acted out of love, out of a desperate need to protect my family?
